"Hhhhhhhhh" flops dramatically "I'm boooooooored".

Asriel audibly gasps in surprise as the human suddenly flops down in front of him. He had been moments away from sinking into a nap, but now he was wide awake. How was Chara so good at sneaking up on people?

“Oh, uh… I’m sorry.” He answered groggily, “Do you wanna do something… or something?”

Maybe he wasn’t as awake as he thought.

  “I said I’m fine…” 

  She may be acting immature, but she hated showing weakness. She isn’t even sure what made her start to tear up. She hated crying. Especially in front of other people. Now she’s on the ground with her knees pulled to her chest. Asriel will probably feel bad about this. She can’t help that she hates feeling weak enough to lash out at him. What even reminded her of her awful life before? She wished she could erase her memories of it all. It just made her feel like she wanted to disappear again. 

  “Just…” She mutes herself in an attempt to keep her sniffling unknown.

At first, Asriel isn’t sure how to react. He was usually the one to start crying over something small. This felt different though. Chara seemed to break down over nothing at all. He couldn’t understand it, but it was obvious she didn’t feel like explaining. Ultimately, it didn’t really matter why. All that mattered was that she was hurting somehow. He didn’t have to understand anything else. The fact that she was hurting and he didn’t know how to help her rattled him. He wanted to be a good big brother and fix it, but he had to fight back tears of his own.

Chara was so strong. So strong he couldn’t even believe it sometimes. What could possibly hurt her like this? He placed a gentle hand on her shoulder. He wasn’t sure what to do, so he just emulated his mom. She was the best at getting him to stop crying after all.

“H-hey, Chara. It’s okay! Please don’t cry... I-I’m sure, uh, we can fix it. Whatever’s bothering you, I mean...”

;Flowey has done so many horrible things to people that it’s hard to keep track of. He’s hurt everyone in the underground in just about every way he could think of, especially the ones he felt had personally wronged him somehow. That list kept growing as he kept killing. Someone else would play hero and stand in his way. In turn, he would set upon them specifically, breaking their will to fight again and again until they practically begged him for death.

It’s one of the reasons why Asriel refuses to face any of his loved ones when he returns to his original form. How can he even look them in the eye after what he did when he was a flower? He doesn’t want to burden them with knowing his fate, but at the same time, he doubts he could emotionally handle the guilt. After living without a soul for so long, the emotions he regained are almost too much for him to handle.

He would rather them think him dead than know what he became.

Thank you, friendly reminder in the form of a failed experiment, she was trying to not think about that fact. She does not voice that thought, but her movements pause for a second, expression faltering ( she does not want to show the effect those words have, but she’s never been very good at pretending. How weak ).

“Is that so…?” She murmurs, more to herself than the other, but still loud enough to be heard. “Anything else you, uh, want to get off your chest wh-while you’re here?”

“Now that you mention it, yeah!”

In this little Flower’s opinion, The so-called Dr. Alphys was probably the biggest idiot in the underground. At least most of the other idiots didn’t wreck other people’s lives. Some might say he was in no place to judge, he did a lot more than hurt other people. At least he was honest about what he was. 

“You ever gonna tell your boss about what you did to his kid? Oh, who am I kidding? Of course, you won’t! If anybody finds out what you did, gosh I don’t even know what you’d do.”

He laughed to himself, but loud enough so she could hear it on purpose. Oh, he was bitter about a lot of things, but this was one of the worst. If anything, it made the scientist really special since she stirred such strong emotions in him even now. Looking up at her weak, pathetic face a memory stirred within him. A timeline before this one where he’d killed every single person in the underground except Alphys. She must have felt totally responsible for all of his actions. Oh, the look on her face when he SPAREd her in the end.

@fluersamour wants some LOVE!

There is something disquieting about her presence. It wasn’t the fact that she was supposed to be gone. It was the memories. How he felt about her in the past made the empty nothing inside of him feel like a hole in his flesh. He knew he should feel so much more, but he couldn’t. It was like when something scary happens and you want to scream but you can’t find your voice. Here she was, his best friend who he’d lost so long ago, who he couldn’t bear to live without. 

“Golly, what took you so long?”

His words came out flat, almost like a machine had spat them out. How was he supposed to react? How would Asriel react? He’d probably cry and beg for her forgiveness. For a moment he considered flying into hysterics, but she would probably see through that. Compassion, love, loyalty, even something as simple as guilt was lost to him.

All he felt was bitterness. Callous hatred and malice. He wondered if this was how she felt all that time. 

“Aren’t you dead, Chara?
