“AND WHO WAS THE ONE WHO PUT ME IN THE UNDERWORLD, HUH!?” He yelled, charging at him with his shield and spear at ready. His shield was so huge it could cover his whole body from the front, so Odysseus would have a hell of a time shooting him even if he had his bow out now.
“I was just a catalyst, we both laid claim to that armour! I was just favoured!” He shouted back, though he had scrambled to as high a vantage point as he could given the amount of time he had to prepare. What happened to not killing him?! Wouldn’t Ajax prefer a great tactician here and not just dumb muscle?!
Imagine if Polyphemus was summoned as a servant-
“Son of Poseidon or not, I don’t appreciate anyone who thinks they can eat my men or violate and scoff at sacred hospitality. I’ll blind him again.”
And not say who did it this time.

I mean he (Odysseus) probably gets his trickster habits from the fact he's a descendant of hermes
His grandfather was the famous thief Autolycus, his dad was an Argonaut, trickery and adventure are in his blood. He’s still a bastard though.
