“To the rooftop, actually, we only have a few more stair treads to face.” Ara tilted her head in a silent inquire for him to follow her lead as she took a step forward away from the staircase. “I don’t exactly fancy studying or reading in closed spaces, it makes me feel suffocated.” She informed in a brief explication to the reason behind the unique habits she carried through her daily routine.
At first sight, he saw her as a girl who was smoother, more fragile than a feather but as he heard her voice, her words fell from her lips more and more, he knew it was an exaggeration. Maybe from her appearance, his judgement was close enough but from her words, Shin could sensed a witty brain that would play out his. It could annoy him but on another note, it also intrigued him. Not a lot of girls were like her so why would he let her go easily? Not to mention his jacket was still drooping over her shoulders.
"You were like a child.", the words came out as a mumble as his arms shifted a little to balance the books once more. Even he had a little trouble getting them in place in his hands, how about her? It was all crystal clear on why she almost fell in the first place. "How did you think you could manage to reach the rooftop with all of this between your arms? I think for your birthday, you should ask for one of those little carts.", Shin flashed her a small, innocent yet teasing smile before he started to make his way up the staircases, following her trail. He had to resist the urge to look up and actually took in her appearance from the back.
Should he tell her his name? Or would he just leave, giving her the memory of a jerk that helped her carrying her books to prevent a death sentence by the staircases and actually the secret jacket-lender? Had she figured it out by now? Maybe. Maybe not. He would go with the latter. "Shin.", he said it loud enough for her to hear but not loud enough for anyone else. Hopefully she would actually got it instead of thinking he was just saying a random word. It was a little awkward how that much noise could echoed against the walls of the staircases due to how rare a human sight was on the rooftop of that time of the day.
More awkward when all that heard were their footsteps and his coughs from when he realized how great she looked from the back.
As they reached the rooftop, the sun was still shining down, giving him a little sting of heat after being in a cooled building for a while. "So, where should I place all of these?", Shin looked around and saw no one at the surrounding. "You sure you can carry all of these when you go back down?"
