"There is a lot of passion depicted here, but I think this dance is supposed to show some of the difficulties that accompany being involved sexually. I think this dance is about the pain that relationships can bring as much as it is the beauty. With physical intimacy comes an emotional intensity that the choreographer and dancers did an excellent job depicting. They physically imitate fighting as much as they physically imitate making love. Everything I’ve ever written was composed in notebooks first. I have hundreds of them filled with my scribbles tucked away in boxes. I also buy them obsessively, so I probably have just as many empty notebooks lying around the house ready and waiting to be filled. I find that writing longhand I can enter a zone of comfort I find hard to achieve when sitting in front of a screen - I find typing annoying.

I think the reason dance has held such an ageless magic for the world is that it has been the symbol of the performance of living. Many times I hear the phrase "the dance of life." It is close to me for a very simple and understandable reason. The instrument through which the dance speaks is also the instrument through which life is lived: the human body. It is the instrument by which all the primaries of experience are made manifest. It holds in its memory all matters of life and death and love.
