Something bubbles up through the Beheaded’s flame as if it had been fed, a faux sigh heaving at their shoulders and bringing a bored light to their eye. ‘Blobespierre,’ is what they start with, since it’s the least cryptic and irritating. ‘The Prisoner. The Beheaded. The Fallen One.’

Then, after a pause, ‘Homunculus.’

what are some names that you like? 

To this comes an idle shrug and a shake of the head. The Beheaded doesn’t concern themself with what others call them, and much less how they refer to themself. It’s a dark world out there, one where people tend to die and the only men who get remembered are those who served a purpose.

Ari blinks back at them, less stunned into silence and moreso trying to parse what the hell an ‘e-boy’ is. Obviously it’s an insult, what with the Beheaded threatening to kill him immediately after saying it, but… what?? What did he even do…?

…Oh.

It takes the teen another second to put his thoughts together fully, but soon enough he darts out of the room, down the castle halls and out of sight. He returns to the Beheaded within the minute at least, a parcel in hand this time.

He tucks it under his arm for a moment to sign something back first: ‘I couldn’t find you earlier.’ That done with, Ari offers the package to them with a meek, apologetic smile on his face. It holds a woolen scarf, presumably to replace the one they’d loaned him before. He’s not giving that one back because it’s now clean and looks really cool on him.
