@headmistress-dracarys
He nodded, trying to remember everyone he had hurt, eliminating the few he’d already talked to. “And the damage I’ve done to campus–to the quad? How can I help there?”
“When Merlin is better he can fix it himself. And as far as everyone’s concerned we hired someone to do it. His powers are still confidential much to my disatisfaction.” She said still not her favorite thing to hold from her students but it was Merlin’s choice not hers and she had to respect that.
Diaval jumped a bit when the door slammed shut behind him but stood his ground. “Believe me, after everything that’s happened as a result of it all I understand completely. I won’t be doing it again; to be quite honest, it was a mistake that I should have been able to avoid.” He wasn’t used to admitting his wrongs so openly, but with the severity of his actions he knew that his pride alone wouldn’t get him anywhere.
“I expected more from you. Now I feel I don’t even know you at all.” Her words felt bitter and tasteless much like the way she felt in this moment. “You thought nothing of the consequences of what you did. Now you are paying for it and I don’t feel sorry. Was it even worth it?” she asked and immediately regretted it. Turning to face towards the windows of her office. “Don’t answer that.”
“Oh no I wasn’t..I meant where the dorms room and maybe my classes. I’m sorry I didn’t realize you were…” She stopped realizing she was only making it worse. Anya had a terrible sense of direction, it was really awful and now she had made an idiot out of herself in front of the headmistress. “Anya Romanova. Yes I have…”
Mal reached toward a bulletin board and pulled off a map. “This is my office here and these are the dorms. I trust you know the name of your building it will be clearly labeled on the outside.” she handed her the map in a semi unfeeling way. “Another human, how pleasant. I myself am from across the pond as well. Please enjoy your stay.”
The girl picked up her head, taking her mother’s hand and following it’s pull so she ended up leaning against her side. “I’m not usually like that, I don’t know what happened. I can’t believe I fought someone,” Rory rambled. “And I would never ever say that you’re not my real mom.”
“I am your mother, and always will be. I should have been more understanding.” Mal pulled her closer wrapping her arms around her. “I never would have said those things about your father.”
“I knew what I was doing–or, well, part of me knew what I was doing, but I still did it.” He sighed, knowing how stupid he must sound. “Is there anything I can do? For the people I hurt, I mean. Not for me.”
“I think you are talking to the wrong person. I’ve never been good at mending relationships. Perhaps Rafiki could help or Jo--” She was about to say Johny but she stopped herself. “Say your sorry, start there. That’s what my daughter did.”
Aurora looked to the ground, “I just wanted to apologize.”
Mal slowly rose from her chair and reached her hand out to her daughter. “Come here little beastie” her voice was calm and not at all angry, only concerned.
“Sorry I’m new here…I was hoping to get help with my room assingment?” Anya was really hoping she could help her with this, hopefully she had finally found the right person.
“I do not assign rooms I am the headmistress. You will have to go to academic advising for transfers.” Mal quickly looks through her tranfer papers looking for the newest one assuming there wasn’t any other rescent transfers. “Well look at that. You must be--well you sure have traveled a long way.”
“Um…” His eyes quickly shifted from the pen back up to the headmistress, his mouth hanging open a bit. “I’ve never hurt people before and I…don’t know what I should do next. Or–more so how I can help after all the damage I’ve done.”
“Hurt people--hurt them with your magic? Because that is not something you can always control.” she spoke plainly not exactly understanding so far what he means.
Diaval had expected the unfriendly greeting but he wasn’t going to let it deter him, he never had in the past. “Yes, now we should talk. To be quite fair, you didn’t give me a chance to do so before. Y’Know, while I was reportedly out making a fool of myself.”
With one wave of her hand she closed the door to stop any potential prying ears. “As you know I don’t suffer fools lightly.” This was bound to happen. She knew it, but a fire of anger still burned deep inside her. Keeping her demeanor calm but her voice dark. “You clearly don’t see the severity of what you did so who’s to say you won’t do it again? I cannot trust someone like that.”
Nani pulled on her backpack strap a little as she cleared her throat. “It’s um, about scholarships? I mean if I were to have gotten one is there a way to transfer the funds to like my sister? Maybe? I mean it know it’s a bit out of the ordinary and wild to think but just curious.”
“Scholarships are unfortunately nontransferable but if there is srong worry about money there is always FAFSA and our parents group have been great benefactors. They have supported all of our school trips since I have began here.” She tilted her head wondering if this was at all helpful.
“No particular topic, I just figured that we could have a talk. It’s been quite a while.” Diaval shrugged as he stood in the doorway.
“Oh, now we should talk little bird? Now that the only person you can make yourself a fool to is you.” Mal held her things close, she didn’t like how easily he could get under her skin. All the time they had together felt so far away now, clouded.
Mal tapped her pen waiting for the one across from her desk to speak up. “And what is so important you wish to speak of?”
Rora & Mal || Deadly Sins
Aurora grimaced, her eyes swirling with a dark hatred. “Why should I answer to you? You don’t control me. You’re not even my real mom,” she growled, fixing the end of her bandage down with the safety pin she attached to it earlier that day. “I was pushed, I pushed back. End of story.”
“No, I’m your fairy godmother and your making my job pretty bloody hard to protect you when you go and attack someone who can barely control her powers. So tell me what was so important to risk your life?” Mal raised her voice but kept it at it’s usual deep tone. It bombed troughout the house like some sort of eco location signal. Lashing out from her deep hurt of Aurora’s words.
Rora & Mal || Deadly Sins
Aurora made her way to the living room while re-wrapping her hands, trying to cover the blood on them the best she could before Mal saw anything. She started to rip the edge of the bandage with her teeth when she saw her mother, but her stare left Aurora frozen, the tape still in her mouth. Quickly she spat it out, sending an icy glare of her own. “What are you talking about?”
“I’m talking about how you broke the rules and by the looks of your hands more than once. Are you going to tell me why?” her voice held firm, plainly she was hiding some anger behind it that her daughter would even try to play dumb with her. Didn’t she understand that she was her responsibility?

Rora & Mal || Deadly Sins
Mal had heard a great many of things that had happened around. Many of which she had no control over but did her best to cover up as much as she could to draw attention away from the school to keep her students safe. But once she had caught ear over her own daughters doing with another one of her students she took a seat in her living room chair waiting for her daughter to return home. Once she did Mal met her with a stare that could hurt to must fragile of hearts. “Aurora come here my little beastie. I believe you have some explaining to do.”
