[ AID ]: sender finds the receiver too weak to move, and scoops them up to carry them to get some help. - or she tries to. for cloud!!

The thing about...whatever they put inside the two of them is you just can't get away. Even if you manage to physically outrun, shoot down, cut down an angry hivemind, the hivemind finds its way to you. Inside your head. Crawling beneath your skin, aching to claw its way out. Ringing in your ears, tearing away at the very foundation of your mind.
Cloud still has the mental strength to wrest control away from the leader...he thinks.
But physically, he's not in great shape, either. He managed to buy Ashley enough time to get a head start on some villagers, and fought off enough to make his own escape. But by the time he catches back up to her, the wretched thing in his veins makes its presence known again.
One minute, his senses feel like they're all underwater, except for a voice in his head, clear as day and sharp as a knife, telling him to simply embrace serenity, give into the holy union. The next, his vision comes back into focus, he's propping himself up on his hands, and there's blood on the dirt trail in front of him. His blood, he concludes, that he has just hacked up, that drips from his lip in the aftermath of his breakdown.
β I'm fine, β he croaks, wiping his bottom lip with the back of his hand. He tries to push himself back up to standing...but his arms shake, and he stumbles.
Any kind person would think to do what Ashley does next: come around to Cloud's side and try to shoulder some of his weight. If he wasn't in such bad shape, the effort might even earn a small grin from him. But right now, all of his focus is solely on helping her help him. Ashley is strong, but she's not lifting Cloud all by herself.
β You don't need to β β A pause. A sigh. It's not like he's in much shape to fight her on this. He lifts his head. Squints. He thinks he sees a familiar purple flame in the distance.
β ...We should be clear right now. But if any more of them come, you run. Okay? β
[ WEARY ]: sender notices the receiver about to fall asleep during a task, and picks them up to carry them to bed so that they can actually sleep properly for once. ( prompto!)
Pick me up before you go go || @dragoonvowed
Prompto's on his laptop, half-sitting, half-laying on the motel couch, SD card slotted in and sorting through the day's photos. He's been at it for a while, actually β since getting out of the shower. Deleting the duds. Going back and forth between two versions of the same shot. Marking the best ones for later...
It's work he doesn't mind doing, loves even, but on a day like today where he's taken so many...and this late at night...it's easy to doze off.
Prompto fights it for as long as he can. Just a little more, he tells himself. I'm almost through all of them. But with every photo sorted, his eyelids grow heavier. The room is silent save for the constant hum of the air conditioner, and his laptop is warm in his lap. It's no bed and blanket, but after several nights in a row of camping, it's doing quite nicely.
He's not sure when his eyes slipped completely closed and his fingers slid off the keys. All he knows is, with his last little threads of consciousness tying him to the waking world, he can feel someone lift the computer out of his lap and scoop him effortlessly up off the couch. Prompto stirs, barely, and sleepily registers the fuzzy outline of Terence's statuesque features.
Lacking the energy to so much as form his lips around the other's name, he simply hums in semi-conscious acknowledgement, letting his head roll up against Terence's chest. The rest is a blur; the lights dim from one room to the next, he feels himself lowered onto a softer surface, and something warm is pulled up over his shoulders. Unconsciously, Prompto shifts under the covers, nestling into this new place much better suited for dreaming.
It's obvious to pretty much anyone with eyes how smitten Prompto is with Cindy. Outspoken, confident, a tinkerer after his own heart. Exactly who you picture when you hear the phrase "strong, independent woman who don't need a man." And a total charmer to boot. You can actively see Prompto melting just at the thought, pink cheeks and bashful chuckle.
β Yeah, wouldn't that be great? β he sighs. β I mean, she could do way better than little ol' me...but I gotta shoot my shot. Just...y'know...once I figure out how. β
[ ASSIST ]: sender picks up and carries the receiver away for medical attention because they've been injured and can't walk easily. - for prom!!
Pick me up before you go go || @ghrahm
Insomnia fell, and Ashley Graham watched it happen.
She's made it this far. That's the mantra Prompto had to continue to repeat to himself until he could confirm it with his own eyes. Apparently the Glaives still in the city managed to get her to the gate, and it was now Prompto's job to get her the rest of the way out unharmed.
Several questions plagued his mind as Cor brought him back to the blockade for the operation. Questions like Why not Gladio? And Can I even do this? He'd seen the troops stationed there after the news broke. The retinue came back and saw it themselves. He knew how much of an obstacle they'd be.
And yet, somehow...Ashley escaped unharmed.
The same can't be said for Prompto.
He'd taken the brunt of an attack for her, shouting for her to run, there's too many to take all of them, he's right behind her, covering her. And now that they've put enough distance between themselves and the infantry, the adrenaline keeping him upright began to wear out. A searing pain blooms in one leg, and Prompto wavers, dropping to his knees on the side of the road.
He used a Potion on it earlier, but it must not have been quite enough. He must not have noticed in the rush to escape. Only now that things have calmed down is the true extent of the injury catching up to him.
A dry, humorless chuckle breaks up his groan of pain. What can he do but laugh? How can he do his job in this condition? They still need to get to the rendezvous point with Cor...he can't give up here, not now...
Ashley kneels down beside him. Prompto tears his gaze away from the gravel beneath him, meeting her eyes, and the pain shoots from his leg to his heart seeing the worry in her eyes. He hates to be the thing that twists her brilliant, bright features with such a painful thing as worry. So he tries to pull off a smile β yes, even now. β So, uh...mission failed successfully? β
Ugh. Fuck. Owowow. Prompto shifts his weight wrong and grinds his teeth to hold back a shout. Spots pepper his vision, preoccupying him enough that he doesn't notice Ashley placing one arm behind his back and the other by his legs.
listen, i'm back home now, i'm thinking about things, and i saw the maxton hall gifset floating around and i was like. yk what. carrying people is elite content, and gdi y'all deserve elite content! as always, DO NOT ADD OR EDIT THIS LIST! and there's a lil spicy addition under the readmore, but i left it there just in case people prefer to have a not-so-spicy version.
