his   stream   had   been   playing   on   her   second   monitor,   curled   up   in   a   blanket   at   her   desk   and   cranking   out   a   few   too   many   games   of   aram   in   attempt   to   stay   awake   —   poor   choice   considering   she   could   hardly   pull   her   attention   away   whenever   he   talked.   there's   a   half   empty   energy   drink   on   her   desk   that   nearly   toppled   over   when   she   promptly   moves   discord   back   onto   her   first   monitor,   exiting   out   of   some   stream   she   didn't   care   to   watch   and   instead   focusing   her   attention   on   the   discord   call   occupied   by   no   one   but   her.   her   chin   rests   on   her   knees   as   she   pulls   them   up   to   her   chest,   eyes   sparkling   watching   him   join   the   call.   “i'm   surprised   you're   still   alive,”   she   jokes,   glad   nobody   but   her   could   see   the   reddened   cheeks.   “you're   alright,   i   guess.   figured   i'd   grace   you   with   my   presence   after   you've   been   talking   to   a   screen   all   day.”   as   if   the   same   wasn't   happening   right   now.

maybe   it   had   been   a   bit   of   an   ego   thing, like he wanted some kind of accomplishment after a   long   day   of   getting literally no work done.   prompting   him   to   enter   the   login   for   his   alt   rather   than   his   main,   demoralizing   the   enemy   team   who   were   five   ranks   below   him.   he   doesn't   feel   too   bad   about   it   —   especially   not   when   he   was   carrying   a   bunch   of   dead   weight   teammates   anyway.   gunil   slumps   back   into   his   chair,   one   earphone   dangling   in   his   lap   as   his   eyes   are   drawn   back   to   the   screen   —   sound   of   a   friend   request   with   a   name   that   peaks   his   interest.   accepts   it   a   little   too   happily,   incoming   messages   drawing   a   chuckle   out   of   him   as   his   hands   reach   for   the   keyboard.
