A deafening chorus of cheers echoed through the rusted warehouse, shaking the steel beams overhead. The crowd erupted with every brutal crack of fists meeting flesh, the air thick with smoke, sweat, and the metallic scent of blood. It was the kind of place that should have made anyone turn away, yet eunha stood on the tips of her sneakers, peering through a dusty window until her eyes finally landed on the man she had spent weeks searching for. " there you are... " A triumphant smile spread across her face as relief washed over her. Three years of exhaustion had led her here. Three years of arriving before everyone else, leaving long after the office emptied, writing stories that carried someone else's name, and hearing maybe next time whenever she pitched her own ideas. Her boss had finally given her a chance, but only if she succeeded where every journalist before her had failed: finding Korain, the retired athlete who vanished from the public eye, and convincing him to give an interview. Everyone called it impossible, but eunha chased every rumor and followed every lead until one finally brought her to him. Her attention snapped back to the ring as the final punch landed and immediately his opponent collapsed onto the canvas, and the warehouse erupted into applause. she clapped along, an awestruck grin spreading across her face. "Whoa..." she breathed in admiration. no wonder he had once been a famous athlete. But when she looked up again, he was already walking away. " oh no..." she whispered, quickly following him through the crowd and into the quiet concrete hallways. She watched him disappear into a room before stopping outside the door, her confidence suddenly fading. Her fingers tightened around her bag as she rehearsed every word in her head; she had waited so long for this moment, yet now that she was finally here, her heart refused to slow down. Taking a breath, she decided to wait. She didn't want to corner him; after searching so hard for him, the least she could do was offer him the same respect she was asking for. When the door opened, her eyes lifted to him. "... excuse me?" She offered a polite bow, a nervous smile appearing on her lips. " um... hello. my name is seo eunha." A nervous smile tugged at her lips. " you looked really cool just now. " She gave him a small thumbs-up, almost embarrassed by how sincere her admiration sounded. "seriously, that last punch was amazing. " She said as she lifted her fist trying to recreate it but then she caught herself rambling, she cleared her throat. " ah — right. I'm actually a writer from Stride Magazine." The moment she noticed the possibility of rejection in his expression, she hurried to continue as she quickly lifted a hand. "Wait, please... just hear me out." Her voice softened, the exhaustion she had been trying to hide finally slipping through. " i haven't slept properly in a month trying to find you, and i barely ate. And that actually says a lot, because food is really important to me. like... really important. and honestly... that shows how hard it was for me to find you." Then, as if realizing how her words sounded, she quickly waved her hands in front of her. "not that I'm blaming you, of course!" she added hurriedly, shaking her head in dismissal. "It's not your fault. I just mean... i really went through a lot to get here." She tilted her head slightly, widening her eyes in a small pleading gesture as she looked up at him. " so the least you can do is hear me out, right?" Bringing her hands together in front of her, she promised, her voice softening. " just a few minutes. and I swear I'll be gone right after."
