When I was going through severe trials, my favourite book to read were the Psalms. They gave me solace. I guess most of them were penned when the Psalmists were experiencing turmoil and despair.
King David wrote many of the Psalms, not when he was calmly tending his sheep, but when he was facing battles, when he was chased around like a common criminal, when he was betrayed by his own family.
God doesn't always rescue us from trouble swiftly. Sometimes longer than we would expect. We often wonder, "Why is it taking so long?" Does He even care? He does care.
He sees your struggle, your hurt and your brokenness. Then why is He not doing anything, you may ask. Often, it’s because He’s working in ways we can’t yet see.
Psalm 46:1 says," God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble."
Would you trust Jesus even when you see nothing. Will you trust His plan for you?
