You could remember standing by the other group of Jellyfish trainees before they went to perform their initial 'Star Level Test' performance, the judging from one particular trainee making the atmosphere for both you and his three teammates almost suffocating. You couldn't believe that he was going to act like a child on national television because you and him had some unspoken rivalry.
You watched their performance from the TV in the backstage area, analysing and trying to understand what the judges wanted from a good performance, being shocked yourself when none of your company mates had gotten a desired 'ALLStar' ranking. It made you want it even more, wiling to give everything to do both your company and yourself proud. Maybe, being better than Park Gunwook played a role in your wishes to rank the highest, maybe it didn't. No one would know anyway.
You had been given the iconic StayC song 'ASAP' for the initial test, which you were thankful for as you loved the song and had also learned the main points of choreography with your friends from school when it released.

You walked back into the room where the other trainees sat, having either completed their evaluation, or were still waiting for it, sitting back down with the ALLStars, choosing not to talk much for the rest of the day, too upset with your failed chance at becoming centre.
Getting back to the dorm that day, you decided to wash up and go straight to your room, not wanting to see anyone else, but on the way, you saw Gunwook. You both looked at each other and you could tell that he was going to say something snarky, so you just looked down and walked past him.

So when the final comment came, the final blow, the most hurtful one really, it surprised no one when you walked out of the room in tears, too upset to even care that the cameras were following your every move, following you into one of the neighbouring practice rooms to find one of your closest friends, Ricky.
No one would tell you what was said in the practice room after that, only that Gunwook was scolded badly by both Hwanhee and Zhang Hao, the pair angry and disappointed in the boy for how he had acted and what he had said.
According to Keita, Gunwook found you twenty minutes later, but seeing you in Ricky's arms was something he didn't like and so he chose not to apologise. He couldn't describe why seeing you so close to the yuehua trainee tugged at his heartstrings, but either way, he decided that he was just going to not talk to you. Ignoring you is easier than apologising when you're wrapped up in another man's arms.

But to spice things up, MNET chose to add another category, the 'All Rounder' category. Managing to have placed 7th in the first eliminations, you were one of the last to choose, surprised that there were only four people stood in the All Rounder section, two in 'Cheers' by Seventeen and two in 'ASAP' by StayC.
Every trainee in the room watched you walk over confidently to the All Rounder section, thinking you were going to choose ASAP again, as you had performed it before and had done well enough to intimidate the room of trainees with your talents.
But you didn't do that, instead choosing to go Cheers, standing next to Woongki and Haruto, who had both been pushed into the All Rounder category, and had eventually chosen Cheers. As the higher ranking trainees picked, the people who were pushed out of their spot on the desired teams came over to the All Rounder section, leaving Chen KuanRui, Haruto, Seowon and Woongki in your team.
You were thankful that you had four other trainees in your team who were all talented, and eventually, in the final performance, you were all talented enough win first place, being able to go to MCountdown with your friends.

You had been placed in 'Supercharger' Team with some close friends and some younger trainees, and you enjoyed your time with them, but without doubt your favourite memory made with one of your teammates, Ollie, came on the Planet Sports Day.
I mean, getting shoved over by Yoon Jongwoo and spraining your ankle because of his lack of spatial awareness was not your favourite part of the day, but sitting with Ollie, chatting away about his home country was wonderful. You were happy to have made a friend like him.
Ollie and you continued to gossip whilst his hand was being bandaged - you felt sorry for the rest of your teammates, having two injured dancers on the team - until a Park Gunwook also walked into the med tent, a hand holding his head.

That nagging, tugging at heartstrings feeling came back again in Gunwook, but he chose to ignore it once more, moving to comfort you as well. Ollie spoke up before he got too close though,
"Gunwook hyung, I don't think they want to talk to you right now, you've done enough in the past. Just go and get ready to perform please?"

"Gunwookie" Hui calls. "Let's just go, they look like they need space." Hui grabs Gunwook by the arm, dragging the boy lightly to the mic area, where they were to get suited up and ready for the performance that was next.

Now came the second test, where each trainee would be put into a song category that played to certain strengths, rapping, singing or dancing. But to spice things up, MNET chose to add another category, the 'All Rounder' category. Managing to have placed 7th in the first eliminations, you were one of the last to choose, surprised that there were only four people stood in the All Rounder section, two in 'Cheers' by Seventeen and two in 'ASAP' by StayC.
Every trainee in the room watched you walk over confidently to the All Rounder section, thinking you were going to choose ASAP again, as you had performed it before and had done well enough to intimidate the room of trainees with your talents.
But you didn't do that, instead choosing to go Cheers, standing next to Woongki and Haruto, who had both been pushed into the All Rounder category, and had eventually chosen Cheers. As the higher ranking trainees picked, the people who were pushed out of their spot on the desired teams came over to the All Rounder section, leaving Chen KuanRui, Haruto, Seowon and Woongki in your team.
You were thankful that you had four other trainees in your team who were all talented, and eventually, in the final performance, you were all talented enough win first place, being able to go to MCountdown with your friends.
Celebrating with your teammates when finding out you had also won first place led to Haruto whispering in your ear, "Look at Gunwook real quick for me."
Choosing to follow his orders, you glance over to Tomboy team where Gunwook was looking at you, a small smile on his face that was quickly dropped when he realised that you had noticed, a scowl replacing the cute smile that once adorned his face.

As time passed, the penultimate challenge came before the final, the 'Artist Battle' Challenge, where each team would be placed into an original song and have to learn it, but the twist was that the audience would choose where the trainees went, and if you didn't like the song, oh well.
You had been placed in 'Supercharger' Team with some close friends and some younger trainees, and you enjoyed your time with them, but without doubt your favourite memory made with one of your teammates, Ollie, came on the Planet Sports Day.
I mean, getting shoved over by Yoon Jongwoo and spraining your ankle because of his lack of spatial awareness was not your favourite part of the day, but sitting with Ollie, chatting away about his home country was wonderful. You were happy to have made a friend like him.
Ollie and you continued to gossip whilst his hand was being bandaged - you felt sorry for the rest of your teammates, having two injured dancers on the team - until a Park Gunwook also walked into the med tent, a hand holding his head.
He explained that he had a migraine and was advised by the producers that he needed to sit out for the next hour or two until he felt better, sitting opposite you.
The friendly and talkative atmosphere quickly drained, stilted conversation happening between Ollie and Gunwook, the former of which attempted to get you to converse with the latter, but his trying didn't bring any conversation from you - you were still upset by his comments from the first challenge, but also confused as to why he had been looking at you so nicely after winning first place in the second challenge.
Talking to him was not worth your efforts it seemed to you, as it always ended in hurt on your end. But seeing his small pout when describing his so called "earth-shattering headache" was too addicting to look away from.

Unfortunately, due to the sprained ankle that hindered you from performing to the best of your ability, the showcase of the 'Artis Battle' songs left you unsatisfied and disappointed in yourself. You weren't terrible, nor did you bring your team down you were told, but still, you liked being the best and you were not the best on that stage in your eyes.
The feelings of disappointment and hurt slowly affected you, causing you to leave the room where you could watch the performances from backstage, and to sit in the corridor, begging your eyes to stop crying and ruining the makeup that the makeup artists had so gracefully made you look beautiful with.
Your efforts were fruitless though, the tears couldn't stop coming and at this point you had been gone so long that Gunwook and the En Garde team were leaving the room to perform their song.
Gunwook noticed you sat in the corridor, leaning against the wall immediately and started to move towards you but unfortunately, Ollie had made it before him, hugging you and holding you close as you sobbed in his arms.
That nagging, tugging at heartstrings feeling came back again in Gunwook, but he chose to ignore it once more, moving to comfort you as well. Ollie spoke up before he got too close though,
"Gunwook hyung, I don't think they want to talk to you right now, you've done enough in the past. Just go and get ready to perform please?"
"I'll do what they want, not what you think they want, Ollie" Gunwook replies, looking at you.
You look back but soon shake your head, not willing to talk.
You hadn't said anything to Gunwook, but it felt like you had just killed him. He couldn't describe why seeing you so upset was hurting him too, he couldn't describe why you in Ollie's arms hurt. And worst of all, he couldn't explain why, even after crying for more than twenty minutes at this point, you still looked more beautiful than anyone else on this earth.
"Gunwookie" Hui calls. "Let's just go, they look like they need space." Hui grabs Gunwook by the arm, dragging the boy lightly to the mic area, where they were to get suited up and ready for the performance that was next.
He performed well, Gunwook, but the thought of you crying like you had just done because of the comments that he made continuously ate at his heart, killing him slowly and slowly.
You, on the other, had sat with Ollie, his arm around you, only wishing it was Gunwook's. You had never admitted it to anyone, not even your favourite baby girl Woongki, that you had had a crush on Gunwook since you met him, you couldn't blame yourself really, he was just too beautiful not to like.
But after everything he had said and done to you, you couldn't help but feel hopeless, deciding to bury the romantic feelings for him deep down inside you, choosing to play his game in return.
But then again, the famous saying goes, "everything that is concealed will be brought to light and made known to all."

The day came, where the third elimination was to take place, and you were hopeless. The performance you had done with Supercharger had left your dedicated fans disappointed, and it killed you inside that you couldn't perform the way you wanted to because of a sprained ankle.
You didn't expect to make it into the top 18, and unfortunately, when Na Kamden's name was called, it was then confirmed that you hadn't gained enough votes to make it to the final.
You were devastated, but surprisingly, you weren't the most upset person in the room by your elimination.
Tears were shed almost immediately by the boy sat on the N.12 seat, and there was no other explanation by his sudden emotion than he had realised how he would miss you.
Not miss making fun of you, poking at your insecurities because it made himself well better and less inferior compared to your own talents, not miss gloating around you when he won the challenges just like you, not miss talking about you to other trainees, saying white lies that made you look bad.
No. He'd miss you. He'd miss seeing your face everyday. He'd miss being around you. He'd miss hearing your laugh from across the lunch room when talking to your friends.
It took you being eliminated for Park Gunwook to realise that he wasn't jealous of you, he was in love with you. And the emotions that hurt him when he saw you with Ollie and Ricky, the emotions that made him upset when he saw you cry, they were all because he was in love with you.
He wanted to take it all back immediately, go back in time and tell himself that the last thing he should do is be horrible. The last thing he should do is make you cry, the last thing he should do is poke fun at your insecurities because he felt better when you did badly.
The first thing he should do in this moment is run to you and tell you how he feels. And that's exactly what he did.
Filming ended and the eliminated trainees, your 'supercharger' team included, joined in a group hug, all comforting each other as you realised you had failed in achieving your dream.
A hand pulled you away from the trainees, into a nearby room and pulling you into a chest. A chest which you soon realised to be Gunwook's.
"I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry. Words can't even describe how sorry I am, i'm such a fool y/n, I shouldn't have said what I did, I should have just seen how in love with you I am."
"You're in love with me?" You ask, cutting him off from his ramble.
'Yes. And I'm an idiot for not seeing it earlier. I understand if you want to get rid of me, never see me again, says the word and you'll never hear from me again, but I just need to tell you. I need you to know."
"I don't know if I can forgive you for what you have done to me, Gunwook. Do you know how much pain you put me through, for what an ego boost?"
"I do, y/n, and I'll keep apologising for the rest of my life."
"I guess I need to apologise too, I've said hurtful things too. I'm sorry for what I have said Gunwook, thank you for your own apology." You reply, brushing a tear cascading down his face away, caressing his cheek a little.
"Look", you begin. "Give me some time to think. I need to wait, to think once I'm no longer devastated about the elimination." You pause, "If you debut, then I'll think about letting you take me on a date. If you debut, we are going to sit down and talk about this. Just because I've liked you for so long, it doesn't mean I will forgive you so easi-"
"You like me too?" He interrupts, too excited to even think about the final part of your sentence.
"Yes, unfortunately. I want us to work this out, so you better debut Park Gunwook, or I swear to god, I will make you go through the exact same hell you've put me through in this competition."
"Yes ma'am." He salutes at you jokingly. "I look forward to our date when I debut."
"Good." You smile at him.

a/n: this is heavily inspired by @boysplanetmorelike's story "Let's Win This Love" - I reread it so often omg - but I wanted to change it up a bit to fit the dog union! junhyeon I miss you so much.

As a young choreographer, having dropped out of school to pursue your dream of dancing for a living, finding people that would allow you to choreograph for them was difficult, but thankfully, being given the opportunity to co-choreograph a few of the Kep1er title tracks had boosted your popularity, even having MNET contact you about choreographing a new song for their upcoming survival show, Boys Planet.
Naturally, you jumped at the chance, so happy and honoured to have been given such an amazing opportunity. The song being so catchy had played a huge role in your choreography, wanting it to be powerful and eye catching - even cheekily making a reference to how many hours it had taken you to come up with the choreography in the post-chorus!
After recording the song with a couple of dancer friends you had, you sent the dance off to the primary producer of the show, receiving many compliments from other producers as well on the quality of your choreography.
But apparently, MNET wasn't done with you, asking if you were willing to come and advise the trainees who had been given the song to help prepare them for the 'Artist Battle' mission before the final, wanting to make sure that they performed to the best of their ability. You agreed, having seen a couple of clips of the show before, wanting to see if you could spot a couple of your favourite trainees - you couldn't help it that Sung Hanbin was so likeable!

After being given a mic and a pep talk from one of the producers and star master, Choi Youngjoon, who was also going to be guiding the trainees on their performance, you walked in bowing at the trainees who were excited to meet the choreographer of the song they were performing.
"Gunwook-ah, look at them! They choreographed the song? Wow, they're gorgeous and talented at the same time?"
You blush lightly at the compliment, making eye contact with a boy with the name 'Kim Gyuvin' on his chest, telling you his name instantly. He smiled, waving lightly before turning to hit his friend, named 'Gunwook' apparently, happy that you had seen him.
You turn to Youngjoon, who had also witnessed the interaction, exclaiming lightly, "Why don't you boys say that stuff about me? I choreograph!"
Gyuvin blushes lightly at the small dig, not wanting to seem disrespectful, "I'm sorry, master-nim, but look at them! You agree that they're beautiful, right?"
"Gyuvin-ah like they'd go out with you, they look like they prefer muscles!" You hear Gunwook say, flexing his bicep muscles, kissing them lightly before winking at you, causing you to laugh a little, ducking your head.
"No! They definitely want a boyfriend who can make them laugh! Junhyeon is five years old!" A third boy who looks to be a similar age says to you, the aegyo clear in his voice, forcing a pout on his face.
You sit there in shock, not knowing what to do, until Hui, or Hoetaek on the show, interrupts, "We are here to get feedback guys, not flirt with the choreographer!" He rolls his eyes, also finding the situation funny, but wanting to stay professional in front of the cameras.
"Wait!" Junhyeon - you learn - shouts. "Let me ask at least, who is the most good looking here, choreographer-nim?"
Not knowing how to respond under the sudden pressure and attention, you mindlessly point at one of the trainee's on the end, someone you recognised from some clips circulating on the internet.
"Hiroto." You say, "Hiroto is the most good looking."
The practice room descends into silence, but not for long until you hear the giggles of Hiroto, winking at him lightly before coming back to look at the three youngest members.
"No!" "Thats not right!" "You can't do that!" " I asked you between the three of us!"
The boys burst into shouts, clearly unhappy with your response, Gyuvin even going over to pretend to whack Hiroto for what seemed to be for simply existing.
"Okay! Okay, okay." Youngjoon finally intervenes, having enjoyed the situation for too long. "If you are comfortable with it y/n, how about I propose a deal?" He pulls you to the side, whispering a fun plan to you, wanting your confirmation before telling the three teens what he had come up with.
Walking back over to your seat in front of the mirror, you clear you throat before speaking,
"Whoever impresses me the most with the choreography, and who stands out to me the most at the final performance can get my number."
Hoping the small incentive would bring a great performance from the boys, you explain the plan, the three dog-like boys agree immediately, Junhyeon even jokingly voicing out his plan to injure his two friends before the performance so that he would perform the best, but you stopped him before he could actually begin to think about playing dirty.

"baby?" he called out, wondering where you were, and at that moment, you walk into the room ready to give him a big hug. "what is this?"
"I decided that you've helped me so much over the course of our relationship, and even though it won't be able to repay it all, I wanted to get you some flowers as a thank you!" you exclaim, gesturing your hands towards the table.
he smiles, pulling you into a hug almost immediately, kissing the top of your head repeatedly, too amazed to reply.

seeing your boyfriend play the violin was always something you'd love, whether he was playing for fun or not. the way he moved the bow across the strings of the violin made you feel so so proud to have such an artistic and talented boyfriend, so when he came home one day from an impromptu class with a friend from university, all pouty and sad, you wanted to know the reason.
it turned out that the repeated rehearsal of this new piece that has had been trying to learn meant that the strings of his bow had degraded over time, and eventually there weren't enough strings on the bow to play effectively.
so a trip to the nearest instrument store was required, but only, you kept it a secret from your talented boyfriend, wanting it to be a cute surprise before he aimed to practice next.
to say that he was beyond happy is an understatement, he might have even teared up a bit, the thought that you had gone out of your own time, researched what bow he used and then gone and gotten it for him so he didn't have to made him so proud to be your boyfriend, he loved you so much and this was all he needed to love you forever and ever.

when ricky had overheard you ranting to your best friend about your stresses concerning the upcoming anniversary, your boyfriend was quick to explain that he didn't want anything expensive for the anniversary, your love and presence was enough. but to you, it wasn't enough, not nearly fair.

to him, it didn't seem like much, only a nice gesture for someone new to be able to settle into the new environment more appropriately, but to you, it meant a lot, knowing you had someone to look out for you, and from that moment on, you knew you and him were going to be wonderful friends.

the trainees all nod, remembering how excited gyuvin had been when telling them he was going to bring you one day to practice, one trainee in particular looking at you a lot longer than the others.
they had all gotten up to greet you, learning your name, and sharing theirs in return, brian, yoo seungeon, ji yunseo, zhang hao, han yujin, ollie and finally a blonde guy named ricky, whom just looking at had you blushing.
"my name is ricky", he says, grabbing your hand and shaking it lightly, "and you, are beautiful".
the room explodes with screams and sounds of disgust coming mostly from the youngest pair, whilst you simply duck your head, attempting to hide the growing pink blush on your face.
"okay, okay" zhang hao interrupts, the authority in his voice silencing the room quickly, "ricky, that was horrible, never do that again" he continues, apologising lightly to you.
"oh! its okay!" you laugh in return, sneaking glances at the blonde boy, trying to look at him for longer because if you were beautiful, he was stunning.
gyuvin takes you away from the boys, setting your bag down before running back to ricky, hitting him lightly and proceeding to hug him.
you smile at the boys interactions, unaware that someone was also sneaking glances at you, trying to hide the warmth spreading around his neck.
maybe if you continued coming to practice with gyuvin, he would learn more about you and would be able to eventually ask you out, he wonders.
and return to practice with gyuvin the next day, you did. again and again until finally, ricky found the courage to ask you out on a date.

a/n: this is my way of dealing with the loss of junhyeon at the finale.
the room was cold. the presence of your boyfriend has slowly drained from walls, evaporating away in the four months he had been staying at the dorms, for the show "Boys Planet" that he had decided to compete in.
the room was cold, but then it wasn't. the door creaked open, the sounds of the rusting hinges breaking the silence, piercing the overwhelming loneliness that covered the room.
"baby?" you called out to him, as he stepped into the room, his shoulders sagging.
the surprise on his face was evident, but damn did it feel good to see you.
he dropped his bags on the floor, instantly melting into your open arms. it wasn't long before you felt the fabric that met your neck starting to feel damp and you heard the sniffles, breaking the silence once more.
"come to bed honey, you've had a long day." you tell him, rubbing his back continuously waiting for him to respond.
you don't hear a vocal response, only feeling the motions of him nodding his head up and down, before dragging you to the cold bed that had stayed unslept in for months, crawling under the covers with you.
you reach out to hold him, but instead he says, "wait I need to shower and we both need to change into pyjamas."
you agree, letting him get up to go to the bathroom, changing yourself whilst he is in there, and waiting for him on the edge of his bed once again.
loving people is hard, but loving junhyeon seems to be a walk in the park, it never comes with struggles or issues, and even when one of you is upset, or in junhyeon's case, distraught beyond belief, it doesn't take much for either of you to feel better again when in the presence of your other half.
your other half, junhyeon. he walks out of the bathroom, hair still slightly damp, water dripping slowly from his face. smiling lightly at the boy you love so dearly, you reach out and grab the towel from his hands, slowing scrunching out the rest of the water, drying his hair for him as you both sit in silence.
"I love you," you tell him, "and so do many others. the fact that you didn't debut tonight does not mean you won't ever debut again, hyeonie. your fans will wait for you just as I will."
you reach around to hug him from behind, placing your chin on his shoulder, legs moving to surround his.
"im so proud of you. its beyond amazing how well you have done and I have no doubts that you won't be scouted by big companies from this. you can do it hyeonie, its just that this time isn't the one."
"but if this one isn't the one" he interrupts, grabbing your hands from his waist, turning around to face you, "then which one is? I don't want to wait more years to have an opportunity like that again, I want to feel happy again, like I did on the stage tonight."
"and you will, baby. I'm so sure of it. just be a little more patient. I will be right there with you to wait as well, hopefully that will make it a bit more bearable." you reach to ruffle his hair as you say the words felt from the bottom of your heart.
"I love you", you continue, "and I always will. you make me so proud to be your girlfriend and everyday I fall more and more in love with you and your talents. many others have too. it will get better, I promise you."
he doesn't believe you. you can tell in his eyes, but instead he chooses to nod and replies, "thank you baby, for making me feel better."
"I love you hyeonnie. you don't need to thank me."
junhyeon grabs you, pulling you under the covers once more, hugging you in his bed, bathing in your warm presence. with you, his room doesn't feel so cold now.
you both don't fall asleep for awhile, simply holding each other and enjoying each others company as the night passes.
and if you had to tell him it all over every night from now on until he believed it, you would.
