Dolly & Rosie 4-Ever

A 12th generation Tzimisce and a free-spirited Verbena mage. What could possibly go wrong?

((This post is written out of character by the mun:))

This blog will contain a vampire character created by White Wolf for Vampire: The Masquerade alongside and an original mage character created for Mage: The Ascension. 

It will also contain mature themes (sex, drugs, mentions of past abusive relationships, murder, violence, etc). The vampire will also be one of Clan Tzimisce, meaning there will be mentions of body horror related topics though this will be tagged with the trigger warning in the form of: “#cw: vicissitude” or “#cw: body horror”.

As this blog will be shared by two characters, I will specify which character is speaking with an “ -R”, “-Rosie”, “-Dolly”, or a “-D” at the end of a post. 

Quick lowdown on our two lovely ladies of the night:

Daliah “Dolly” Moreau: 

Clan/Generation:12th genration Tzimisce antitribu, possibly the only one in existence. 

Apparent Age: 19 (Embraced in 1982; actual age 57 years old.)

Nature: Caregiver.

Demeaner: Gallant.

Appearance: A tall grunge girl straight out of a 90′s Hot Topic ad. Dyed black hair (naturally dark brown), tattoos, piercings, dark makeup, and haunting pale green eyes that she sometimes changes through vicissitude to reflect her emotions (red for angry, purple for amorous, blue for sad, etc.).

Allegiance: Nominally Anarchs.

Current Goals: Finding a way to live a peaceful unlife with her ghoul-wife, Rosie.

Hobbies: Meat sculpting, bone gardening, urban graffiti, karaoke.

Based on: Daliah from The Anarch Cookbook published by White Wolf in 1993. I took some liberties and changed her some but her backstory remains the same.

Rosamund “Rosie” Roanoke:

Tradition/Faction: Verbena; Moon-Seeker.

Apparent Age: 20 (Kept young via blood bond with Daliah; actual age 31).

Nature: Deviant.

Demeaner: Artist.

Appearance: A small and willowy boho girl straight out of an Urban Outfitters ad. Long, wavy strawberry blonde hair, a tattoo of the triple moon Goddess symbol right over her navel, a voice like a windchime, and big dark blue eyes. 

Allegiance: Nominally Council of Nine Mystic Traditions.

Current Goals: Inspiring belief in magick through art and living out her days with her vampire-wife, Dolly.

Hobbies: Photography, gardening, freeform sculpting, and karaoke.

Based On: An idea I had in my brain.

*Rosie laughs and pats the feral man’s head.* Okay, okay...so here’s how you take a bath.

*Dolly enters in a bathing suit and heads into their bathroom that Leo helped them tile, followed closely by Rosie and Maddox. She turns the faucet on and begins to fill the tub while Rosie continues to explain.*

You see, water is the key to the game. It helps change the way someone smells like nothing else! I know you don’t much like water, but bath water is different from sea water or even rain. You wanna know why, Maddox?

"Water?" Maddox blinks slowly, uncertainly stepping into the bathroom. He flexes his paws onto the weird texture.

He watches the water warily, taking a half-step backwards when Dolly gets inside. His excitement just as easily switches into nervousness.

"Maddox does not like water. Water bad."

*Rosie nods sympathetically.* Yes...sometimes water is bad. But, it’s also good! And fun! You like to have fun, don’t you?

*She motions to Dolly, who takes a shiny blue and pink plastic bottle out and undoes the cap.*

Are you ready to learn what makes bath water special, Maddox?

Maddox turns, staring at the bottle curiously. "Special. Yes. Learn, teach, learning is good." He grumbles reluctantly.

*Dolly pulls out a long plastic stick with a loop on the top. She dips it into the bottle and then pulls it out again. She blows into the loop, and out come large pink tinted bubbles that float towards Maddox and Rosie.

She then pours some of the pink liquid into the running water, which creates a cloud of pink suds to form. They smell sweet, but not too strongly as to not bother Maddox’s delicate nose.*

Maddox blinks, staring at the bubbles. He reaches up, eyes widening, uncertain. He bats at one with his paw, and jumps when it disappears. He skitters a couple steps back, tail lashing with alarm. He huddles closer to the sink, eyes darting around, trying to track each bubble at once, before pouncing, flailing his paws in all directions to pop as many bubbles as possible.

He turns, when finished, to stare at the foaming froth in the bathtub, sniffing and tilting his head. "Light red?"

*Dolly laughs.* The color is called pink, Mads... *The Tzimisce explains, lifting up a handful of suds for Maddox to inspect more closely. Rosie stays back so the Gangrel has someone to run too if he feels unsure.*

Maddox slowly steps forward, cautiously extending his neck to sniff at the suds. He blinks slowly. "...Pink." He hums cautiously.

[hearts-beating-and-still]

*Dolly pulls out a sponge and dips it into the pink-hued water. She squeezes it against her arm and then offers it to Maddox to sniff.*

You see? I still smell like me but just...different. We hold a game of changing smells once a month, and since you live with us now, you get to play too! We practice all month long, something every night, to make sure we can change our smell the best we can to compete!

*She talks in a low, fast-paced voice, like she’s sharing the most important secret in the world.*

You think you wanna try it out, Mads?

Maddox's eyes wide ever so slightly. Intrigued. He leans in, sniffing at Dolly's arm. His tail swishes back and forth, slowly. "Water is bad." He hums reluctantly, his gaze slowly turning to the tub. He takes a few hesitant steps towards it, and when he's within arm's reach, he slowly ducks, as if trying to hide his face from the water. He reaches up, slowly, hovering over the water. His arm shivers slightly, and he gives a small whimper. Then, all at once- splish! He dips his paw just barely inside-

He jumps, fur raising on end and bristling as he gives a loud yelp. With all the reckless abandon of a spooked cat, Maddox turns and breaks into a darting sprint towards the door.

*Rosie half catches Maddox with a warm towel at the ready and she dries his paw while talking to him soothingly.*

It’s okay Maddox! You were very brave to do that! But you aren’t hurt, you’re safe! The bath water just made you wet! See?

*The mage removes the towel to reveal that Maddox’s paw still safe and sound.*

Maddox whimpers. The paw she manages to catch is his left- the pinkish burned mark through his fur. He whimpers, going limp and flopping over on his side as if shot. He sniffles, giving a low mewl as if hurt. "Mrgghararaargh..!" He whimpers.

But, when his paw is revealed again, not hurt, he blinks, stopping his complaints, then sits back up again, chipper as ever.

*Rosie smiles and laughs.* Let’s try just a very little bath first...

*She motions to Dolly, who then dips under a small plastic wash basin into the tub, and hands it to the Verbena. Rosie in turn takes the sudsy bowl and bring it over to Maddox, sitting cross legged on the floor beside him. Dolly blows some more bubbles for ambiance.*

Your paws are a good place to start for the bath game! *Rosie explains, dipping her hands into the warm pinkish water and rubbing them together. She pulls them out, dries them, then holds them out to Maddox to sniff.* See? I’m not hurt and my smell changed. Why don’t you try it now?
