seongbin and his family are originally from cheonan; where he had been born.
he had never been one to excel in school, somehow always distracted by everything else; he would rather be playing outside with the other kids, probably rolling around in some dirt or playing soccer.
due to not really wanting to pursue higher education, seongbin had enrolled into the military service rather early in his life β in his mind it seemed like something he would enjoy doing.
when he was around twenty years old, misfortune struck the kwon family: both of his parents sadly passed in a car accident, forcing seongbin to quit his military career and return back home as things needed to be settled and his younger brother needed to be taken care of.
there was a need to quickly find a new job and to earn money, return to any sort of normality, thus he ended up taking a job as a truck driver, bringing all sorts of wares from point a to point b. it meant that he would often leave his brother alone at home, but in his mind he tried to convince himself over and over that everything would turn out alright in the end.
for what felt like the longest time, seongbin would work this job, driving up and down the highways in between cities until he had felt like he had wasted his youth.
with enough money saved, seongbin had decided to finally put all of his knowledge about fixing machineries and cars he had amassed during his time in the military and driving trucks to good use and open his own workshop.
inspired by all the movies and tv shows about america he had seen, he was more than fascinated by the mechanic shops they had there; it seemed more like a lifestyle than a job: something fun.
even though he had dreamed of having a huge shop somewhere out in the countryside, in the middle of nowhere β just like in the movies β it seemed like a rather impossible task and his little dream ended up nestled in between the high rise buildings of seoul.
due to the proximity to his shop β spadeβs workshop β as he had titled it, thinking spade would be a cool nickname for himselfβ¦ he decided to move to dallyeog apartments.
still, he gave his best in decorating the little shop that could house two cars at once, stickers and metal plates adorning the walls, a wooden bar, a beat up couch, motley crue playing in the background: just like he had imagined.

β one; they do nothing together, always. their friendship is simple: you watch classic movies, listen to music or play video games. as simple as their activities together are, theyβre the most memorable.
β two; someone who always is in some sort of near-disaster and needs something fixed from his shop: maybe they donβt like each other / get on each otherβs nerves.
β three; a shared secret. maybe they both saw something bad go down ( drug deal? accident? ) and now they are connected by that secret that they may never speak of to anyone else.
β four; childhood friends? but they havenβt seen each other in forever. maybe itβs awkward between them? maybe itβs like nothing ever happened?
β five; music friends! he plays the drums and loves to listen to classic rock, maybe thereβs someone out there who shares his musical hobby!
β six; someone who just loves to hang around his shop β maybe they like the vibes? the aesthetics? maybe they just like seongbin? who knows!
