"The Binding of Fenrir" by Tyler Miles Lockett
How to Befriend the Monster Under Your Bed
Befriending the monster under your bed has always been a risky affair. You either do it right or you die. Follow the tips below to increase your chances of friendship.
Read bedtime stories to your monster.
Offer food once in a while.
In some cases your monster might be aggressive; show dominance. I suggest you pick up ’How to Cook the Monster under Your Bed’ by notorious monster serial killer Dave Harley, and put it on your nightstand. Visit the HGK477 library and ask Bob. He knows where to find it.
Do not look directly into its eyes. Ask for permission first.
If you notice that your closet door is opened, move out of the room, you won’t be able to handle two of them.
Talk to the monster.
Some monsters only read dreams and don’t understand the human language. Increase the chance of you having a monster friendly dream by visualizing yourself doing something nice with the monster until you fall asleep.
Leave an arm, any arm, dangling from your bed.
If pitch black shadows darker than dark creep up on the walls, leave immediately. It’s not your room anymore.
Clean underneath your bed for them.
If your bed starts to shake violently, stop. Try again tomorrow.

Fenrir represents destruction but also rebirth and breaking free of your chains - if you wish for strength to fight against your abusers or the power structures that keep you oppressed, act with Fenrir in mind.

“My God’s were with me since I was a child. I understand this now. When I was beaten and broken I begged a God that was not my own to save me. He did not answer. But my gods did. They answered by leaving me alone, defenseless. So that I could become stronger. And now that I am strong, I see only the true gods. The old gods. For they do not bow to the weak, they raise the brave and create warriors.”

Actions in Witchcraft
Just like each herb and crystal has certain properties and strength, so do actions taken during rituals and spells. When writing spells it is important to include the proper actions to make sure your spell is as effective as possible.
Burning - Burning an object is a common practice in spells and rituals. Fire is considered a cleansing and activating force.
If you want to destroy something’s influence, burn it and dispose of the ashes away from your home.
If you want to set something into motion, burn objects related to the situation to ash.
If you want to activate certain energies, burn objects related to those involved.
If you are performing a curse or hex, burn the object in the flame of a candle.
Burying/Abandoning - A Witch might bury and object for many reasons. They might want to put something to rest, perform a slow spell, or banish something. There are different ways in which one can bury an object to accomplish a desired outcome:
If you want to keep something close, bury the object in your back yard.
If you want to attract something, bury the object under the front door step
If you want to disperse something to a distance, throw the object into a crossroads
If you want to fix an influence, inter the object in a five-spot pattern
If you want something to work by means of spirits, bury the object in a graveyard (but don’t disrupt those buried there!)
If you want to hide something’s point of origin, conceal the object in a tree
If you want something/someone to work by stealth, hide the object in clothing or on objects
If you want an influence to begin or strengthen, throw the object East
If you want an influence to end or weaken, throw the object West
Rubbing - Rubbing an object can be the easiest and most immediate way to experience witchcraft. Transferring and garnering energy from objects can be done through physical contact with an object.
If you want to put energy into an object, rub it with your left hand
If you want to gather energy from an object, rub it with your right hand
If you want to bring positivity, rub clockwise
If you want to bring negativity, rub counter clockwise
If you want to use crystals to heal, rub the appropriate stone on the effected part of the body.
Soaking - Water is one of the main elements used in witchcraft. It comes in many forms with many different properties and uses.
If you want something to move away and sink, throw it in running water
If you want something’s influence to rise and fall cyclically, float it in a tidal estuary
If you want to protect or cleanse something, soak an object in rain water
If you are focused on your personal goals, soak your object in sea water
If you want to bring about transformation, soak your object in snow/melted snow
If you’re trying to make a wish come true, soak your object in well water
If you want to banish, soak your object in harbor water
How to talk to the wind
If the wind falls silent, she is listening to you. Speak.
Always whisper.
In case there is a wind swirl carrying autumn leaves, step back. Let her dance.
Don’t go outside if the wind is howling. The ghosts are passing through.
She already knows everything about you. Never lie.
You may play the flute.
Listen to storms. Don’t talk.
She gives life to your words. Make them meaningful. Especially when you talk to her.
If she whispers in your ear, listen closely. It means she trusts you enough to share her secrets.
Words travel far and fast. Don’t say anything that could awake the spirits.
She has a strong temperament and gets angry easily. Make sure to always be nice to her, you don’t want to be on her bad side.
If she is talking to thunder, leave them alone. They don’t want you to hear.
When she greets you with a breeze the following morning, pretend you didn’t hear them.
A sudden draft is always a bad omen.
Never, ever, complain about her. She will remember.

Witchy Tip
If you just “have a feeling” or think you know something, trust yourself. It doesn’t matter if it doesn’t seem logical, it doesn’t matter if you don’t consider yourself empathic, claircognizant, or clairsentient. If you think you should stop whatever you’re doing, be it spell or mundande task, stop. If you think you should walk a different way, do it. Your intuition will guide you and warn you of events to come, and guide you to exactly where you need to be and when. You have spirits, guides, angels, ancestors, elementals, deities, or whatever else looking after you. If something seems right, it probably is. This being said, don’t get paranoid about every thought you have coming true. If it’s something you need to know, you’ll just know.
Lessons are everywhere
I know witchcraft and paganism are considered obscure religions but like... it’s never talked about how Christianity is absolutely soaked in our blood?? like they have a super long, disgusting, wretched history of slaughtering pagans and forcing them to forsake their gods and burning witches at the stake and everyone modern day just assumes these people are extinct if not “delusional”??? pagan and witch genocide is virtually the only historical genocide that is considered completely forgiven these days and idk about y’all but the soil of this earth is drenched in our history and demise and my ancestors aren’t letting me forget it or forget what was done to them
From infusions and tinctures to oils and salves: The basics of herbal healing and the beginnings of any potion.
Decoction: A decoction is needed to extract the deeper essence from harder substances such as barks, roots and stems. Place the raw materials in a pot and fill it with fresh water. Simmer uncovered until the water lever is reduced by 1/3. Strain the resulting liquid to remove particulates then drink or use as needed. Infusion: Pour freshly boiled water over the desired herb or planar matter, roughly 8 ounces of water per teaspoon of dried plant parts. When using fresh herbs roughly 3 times as much is required.
Oil: Place flowers, herbs or other plant parts in a sealed glass container. Fill the container with an organic oil (ex: Olive, sesame, etc…) until it is an inch above the material being used. Place the bottle somewhere warm for 2 weeks, next to a stove while cooking, on the mantle, a sunny window sill, etc. Upend the container daily to ensure the oil saturates the material.
Ointment: Heat 2 cups of pure lard to frying temperature. Add 4 handfuls of crumbled dry herbs or 6 handfuls of chopped fresh herb to the lard. Stir to to blend and let simmer for 1 minute. Remove from heat, cover and let sit over night. Reheat until liquid then mix in 4 tablespoons of an organic oil, this will prevent it hardening to much. Squeeze through a cheese clothe to remove solids and store in a crockery or glass container.
Salve: Mix 3 ounces of finely pulped plant parts, 7 ounces of lard and 1 ounce of beeswax. When thoroughly mixed simmer over low heat in active red pot for 1-2 hours. Remove from eat and allow to cool.
Tincture: A tincture uses alcohol to extract the properties of a herb or plant. Loosely fill a glass container with fresh or dried herbs and add some sort of food grade spirit (ex: vodka), vinegar can also be used for certain ingredients. Cork or otherwise seal the container and leave somewhere warm for 2 or more weeks.

idk I just feel like with the rise of Hollywood witchcraft/paganism ppl think they can own a rose quartz and a bundle of sage and that’s all they need to start policing what other people do with their craft. fuck off lol
can we just...stop politicizing religion, especially witchcraft aspects of religion? I understand there are closed practices, and that is absolutely fine and should be respected, but let’s understand that a great deal of witchcrafts history has been eradicated due to Christian persecution and we will never gain that knowledge back. and a lot of the religions people are trying to turn into closed religions preach the exact opposite (asatru, for one).
there’s also a stark difference in actual religion and actual witchcraft. you can be a witch and not ascribe to worshiping god(s). you can be spiritual and worship without practicing witchcraft. this is why specific things that come with witchcraft can’t be “copyrighted” by a certain group of people. you can’t make a spell that involves rose water and thereby forbid any person outside of your race/religion/nationality from using rose water in their spells. this shit is not a fucking club where your name has to be on a list for you to get in.
if you do ascribe to a god and practice witchcraft and think it’s ok for you to exclude others from venerating that god and practicing that craft, just know that you nor I do NOT make the rules, that is up to our gods, and if they choose to invite people into the craft that you don’t agree with, that’s too fucking bad.
if this post seems vague that’s bc it is. intentionally.
might have a strongly worded rant abt “practice policing” coming up...a bitch is so so so tired
I don’t know who needs to hear this….
People are very concerned about where they go when they die. But have never considered what happened before birth. We come from a community of ancestors and egbe. We make promises about what we will do when we incarnate. A lot of you are having issues because you aren’t keeping up your end of the deal and your people are reminding you.
Don’t know what your path is?
DIVINATION. DIVINATION. DIVINATION.
Dirt
When hoodoo was created, most of the people using it did not have ready access to the best ingredients and often had to hide their practice. Consequently, a lot of what was used had to be things people could obtain. This is why hoodoo uses various roots, sticks, herbs, honey, sugar, and other household supplies readily available. There is no exception for dirt. Different kind of dirt is used for different kind of things but some examples include:
Dirt from the crossroads: used for many things including hexing/cursing, summoning certain spirits, opening roads, etc.
Dirt from a bank: Most commonly used in money work. I swear by bank dirt. It adds so much potency to money workings and every time I have used it I have gotten great results. Could also be used in works to get a loan, get approved for a house, relieve debt, etc.
Dirt from a church: This is usually used for works that have to do with cleansing, healing, or otherwise “holy” matters.
Graveyard dirt: A staple in hoodoo, used for many different things including curses, healing, ancestor work, goofer dust, hot foot powder, etc.
Some of these are examples of things that have been used traditionally and throughout hoodoo’s history. However, all types of folk magick utilize whatever you have.
I have in the past used dirt from a car dealership(to obtain a car), dirt from a red ant farm(defensive/hexing), dirt from a destroyed/abandoned building(defensive/hexing), and dirt from a specific apartment complex I wanted to live in. *not all of these are my ideas, but some of them are*
Folk Magick is and was about using whatever you have around you, and often whatever cost less. Do not ever feel like you can’t do effective, life changing magick with twigs and leaves. You can. Our ancestors did, you can too.
