Hello lovely people, I badly need your help. I need your help for me to buy some antibiotics and vitamins for my swollen armpit (unending boils). My immune is system is currently at lowest due to stress and lack of sleep. I skip work for two days now and what I earn is just enough for food and bills. When I hear someone saying all is lost, for us, for for them, all I hear is someone giving up on every single person in a worse position than them.

It HURTS.

Both in a wider sense, and personally, because I am almost always more vulnerable than these people, and when I am not, I do always have loved ones who are.

I have never advocated for this before, not EVER, but:

Be very careful and extremely selective where and how and with whom you process your strongest difficult feelings. Do find an outlet, you need that, but be selective, and open to the possibility that it may look different than what you are currently doing.

I am not saying this because you should be silent, or to drive you away. I'm saying it because we are heading into a difficult (not impossible) situation that's very different anything most people from the USA have experienced before, and very different rules about how we talk about things and treat each other are going to apply.

It sucks and I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, I'm struggling with this SO MUCH. But right now you need to try, and to stand beside others, and that means not fueling their hopelessness...or causing them to push you further away because you are hurting them.

If you can't find anything to say besides something negative or hopeless, try "we are all in this together". Because it's true. And you must remember that.

the good news is you can donate to PBS directly yourself. When they say “made possible by viewers like you,” they mean it.

PBS is not one monolith out of DC or Los Angeles. It’s dozens of regional nonprofits working together as a network to produce content dedicated to telling meaningful stories about the communities you live in, made by people in your community, with the purpose of uplifting underrepresented communities in a respectful and nuanced way that isnt clickbait or rage bait-y. as intended by their national founding charter. And some of that programming, yes, just so happens to be nationally syndicated and distributed.

Watch PBS and donate. You can even stream it through your local channel on their national app that’s available on iOS, Android, Roku, and etc.

This sounds like an ad but I swear it’s not. I just fucking love PBS ok. And it doesn’t get nearly as much appreciation as it deserves.

You know what we're not going to do (US Americans) is panic. Do not let them see you panic; don't give them satisfaction. It's dark days ahead, yes, no one is denying that but we cannot panic. It will be long and arduous but, we will see it through. Let yourself feel the pain today, but get right back on it. Be that thorn in their side. Don't ever give up.
