Relationship Talk

I had an interesting conversation today with some of my friends about the topic of dating and relationships. One of the ladies at the table had been dating this guy, but it just ended because he had started dating someone else. The breakup process didn't go very smoothly, and she was really annoyed by it.

The ladies at my table started talking about how frustrated they were with men, and started carrying on with the typical generalizations. "Men suck," and so on.

We turned to one of the men at our table to get his perspective. He gave the best words of wisdom ever:

"I'm not going to defend low-quality men and I don't expect you to defend low-quality women."

Amen, bro. Amen.

At the gym

I am very focused when I go to the gym. I do my workout, and then go home. I don't socialize, I don't dilly dally, and I certainly don't mess around with my cell phone, unless it's to listen to music.

Today, I did my hour of cardio, and then I decided to do some weights. I saw a ton of guys at their respective machines doing nothing but texting away of their phones. Of course, they were the exact same machines I wanted to use.

I asked this one guy if I could work in on a machine with him. It was the last machine I needed to use today. He gave me the stink eye. I stood my ground, and eventually he finished his workout and let me use the machine. It is gym etiquette after all, to let someone work in with you on a machine. I mean, c'mon.

Anyway, I found it frustrating, if for no other reason than I can't stand it when people hog up the machines....to text on their phones.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
