Collision ~ {Mari and Feofan}
♡~} Slowly but surely, Mari began to notice the other breathing properly and calming himself down. Good, this was progress, and she was glad she could help him in some way. She waited patiently for the young male to gain his bearings, and as soon as he piped up again she shone her trademark warm smile to him, as a method of hopefully putting his mind at ease too.
“Yes, Don’t you worry about me! People need more than a bump to get through me, I’m tough as nails~! But hmm, a kitchen… Let’s see…” Looking around herself she figured there was one. She knew she toddled past something that looked like one at some point. She shouldn’t have been quoted on it, but these people, whoever took them here… Surely they weren’t going to lock the doors and go through all this fancy effort just to see them starve to death. Nodding to herslef Mari thought that as a decent conclusion. “We’ll find one for sure…!”
But then she paused, listening to the other once more. Oh, he was feeling the strain of being locked in an unfamilar place already. That was awful. She couldn’t help but feel so sorry for the young boy.. Feofan he said his name was no less than shortly after that. She’d have to remember it, it sounded quite foreign, but nice too. It had a cute ring to it. Introducing herself briefly she smiled.
“Mari… It’s a pleasure to meet you…!” Though then she frowned to herself, backpedalling through the conversation herself. She figured before she brought up anything the other said about having a slip up, she’d introduce herself, as to not disregard his question. Pacing forward a little, she tilted her head towards Feofan, moving round to check the back of him for any obvious injuries. After all she’d only seen him from a front glance…
“A slip up? Oh god, what happened—”
And then she froze.
She saw the blood red that stained the male’s back in it’s entirety. Who the hell would have attacked such a sweet soul!? Holding the other as still as she could she leaned down to scan the blood. Was it fresh? Or had it been since he woke up?
All those thoughts soon left Mari however at the sudden smell.
The smell… Oh no… This blood… Feofan was an angel, of course, she should have gathered by the wings! The smell made Mari weaken at the knees if but slightly, oh this was not the time to be in this mood! Letting out a disgruntled sigh, Mari kept her gaze on the wound.
"We need…. To get this cleaned up….! Right now…–!“ Talk about a sense of desperation.
Finally, a semblance of calm settled over Feofan, keeping his breathing at a normal pace. Mirroring her gentle smile, he bowed his head slightly, offering thanks for her help in the silent gesture.
"O...Okay. I'm still really, really sorry though I should have been paying more attention to what I was doing, like really it's not fair and it was kind of stupid that I-" Realising he hadn't yet taken a breath through the entire sentence, the angel exhaled, before composing himself once more. "Basically, I'm just sorry, but I'm glad you're not harmed!" Nodding to himself he finally fell quiet, wondering about the kitchen himself. If they were locked in here, it was highly likely that there would be somewhere they could get food and water. After all, what was the point of keeping prisoners only to let them die...
Shuddering a little at the thought, Feofan turned his attention to her words once more.
"Yes! There has to be a kitchen... We can go look I'm guessing...?"
Realising that his desire to look get a drink was interrupting their introduction, he remained quiet for a few minutes. Mari. Her name was Mari. He hadn't heard the name before, but he did quietly agree that it was a lovely name. "It's a pleasure to meet you too Mari-"
All too quickly, he cut himself off. Before he knew it she was pacing around him, glancing at his back. Worry seemed to suddenly plague her speech... that meant she'd seen the blood--! Panicking, Feofan whirled on his heels, trying to desperately disguise the fact that he was injured, even with that being a fruitless effort given that she'd already seen it. Both embarrassed, and scared, he placed his head in his hands, breathing rapidly becoming erratic once more. His chest hurt too. Even his back began to flare up in pain once more, despite that it had dulled, presumably by him being involved in a conversation.
Refusing to look up and meet her gaze, he only heard her disgruntled sigh. Body locking up for a moment, he stifled a little sob, wondering if he was bothering her already. Why did he even think he could make a friend? Keeping his sights on the floor, he remained quiet as she spoke. She wanted to get the blood cleaned up? Whilst the words in themselves seemed to show her wanting to be helpful, there was something in her tone that set him on edge. Desperation? Was it desperation..?
Maybe she didn't like blood, or maybe there was something more going on here. Maybe she just... wanted to get him out of her hair. Maybe seeing that he was injured made him an automatic liability that she didn't want to associate with. There wasn’t much else his worried mind could determine from all this...
Moving his hands from his face, Feofan clutched at his chest, trying to dispel the tears gathering at the corners of his eyes. Deciding he needed to reply to her, his voice became uncharacteristically bland. That was it... perhaps he just needed to be quiet...
"Yes... I should get it cleaned up. I'm so sorry."
Taking a few steps backwards, he began to make as though he was leaving, keeping his head bowed the entire time.
