I hated that girl and I hated that Dean didn’t defend Sam or tell her to shut up. The show constantly brings up Sam’s mistakes, even when they weren’t really his, and they ignore everyone else’s faults. Sam is constantly getting blamed for everything, and everyone is oblivious to the pain it causes him. He deserves so much more.

Azazel started the whole thing with his powers, Ruby manipulated him into being an addict and convinced him he was doing good, Castiel let him out of the panic room

If it had been Dean lord knows everyone would be like “aw but it’s not his fault” because for some reason everyone likes to bash Sam 🤷🏼‍♀️

To me, Dean was just as responsible for freeing Lucifer as Sam was. He broke the first seal. Sam broke the last. And with the help of angels and demons, 64 other seals were broken. And yet, everyone seems to forget how the apocalypse really began, who took that first step and started it all. Yeah, Dean didn’t know that torturing souls in hell would set this process on, but Sam didn’t either. Sam thought that killing Lillith would prevent it. And Dean wasn’t actually against killing her either, he just didn’t want Sam to do it with Ruby. We all know who knew about all of this and still let it happen.

So yeah, @slut-for-jared, I agree with you, except I do think Dean was partially responsible for it (just as much as Sam. And neither should be solely blamed. I personally blame the angels, especially Castiel, but I’m biased) and everyone in the fandom either didn’t see it or justified it by saying it wasn’t his fault. Because Dean himself doesn’t see it. He feels very comfortable letting Sam carry this burden (and others) all by himself.
