Crowley was doing paperwork this time, but when he saw Naomi he was almost tempted to smile, schooling his expression into a little smirk instead. “Is that Roman wine? Now, what did I do to deserve—- oh right.” He chuckled.
"Originally, you would have been. Not so much after the first war." When Lucifer fell and humanity became tainted. Naomi sometimes wished that could have known Crowley during his human years.
"I don’t really want to dwell on that. The best moment of my life was when I died and became a demon." He said a little bit gruffly, glancing down at his wine, feeling like the last mouthful he’d drank had been sawdust.
"Sadly, that happens more often than not." And there was nothing angels could do about it. The wiring in humans brains just got messed up somewhere along the way and, even more unfortunate, she couldn't fix it. "But at least you're happy now," she tried to steer the conversation back to something nicer, taking a sip from her glass. "King of Hell and everything."

Crowley was doing paperwork this time, but when he saw Naomi he was almost tempted to smile, schooling his expression into a little smirk instead. “Is that Roman wine? Now, what did I do to deserve—- oh right.” He chuckled.
Crowley chuckled softly, clinking their classes together lightly. He took a sip, before putting the glass down. He didn’t know how long this’d last, but it’d be fun to find out. “You know, you should do that more often.”
It wasn’t peace, but it was better than the alternative. Where they just kept letting their charges kill each other. “Do what? I haven’t lost you once.”
No, it wasn’t peace. More like… a stalemate. “You should smile more often. You really light up the room when you do that. As opposed to when you’re angry with me and you get all smitey and you really light up the room.” He added with a chuckle.
Smile? Naomi looked up at Crowley curiously. “I could light up the room as a display of power. It’s not always about killing you.” It was a weak thing to admit, but it wasn’t an uncommon thing amongst angels. In fact, it was more often that they would show their grace as a display. Most demons backed down when they did. “But I’ll keep that in mind.” Accompanied by a smile and a tilt of her glass.
Crowley smiled softly at that. “Angels and demons might be different as night and day, but we both have one thing in common: a flair for the dramatic.” He drained the last of his glass, a little smile still on his face to return hers. It was nice to see her smile at him, nice to see her happy. He hoped it lasted, until he inevitably fucked it up again.
"Well, we were made by God, and you, as a human, were made in his image.” An image that was very different to what God actually looked like. “I guess some things just pass through the tiers.”
Crowley shrugged. “That might be, but I highly doubt that as a human I was in God’s image.” Crowley’s lips thinned slightly. So many times had he prayed as a human for the unrelenting torture and torment upon him to stop and it had only gotten worse. The day he sold his soul and got ripped to shreds by hellhounds had been one of the best of his life.

Naomi lowered her head and raised her glass in cheers. "To not loosing any more demons." She teased. Hopefully the truce would last and Heaven and Hell could more evenly ferry souls between the two life ends.

"Sometimes it can be psychotic, sometimes it can be triggered. Still, even being triggered doesn’t justify their killing." Crowley rubbed his fingers lightly over his beard in thought. "Seems fair. And if any hostilities or bloodshed erupts, we’ll intervene. There’s no reason we can’t maintain the balance peacefully, even if it’s in our blood to despise each other."
Crowley was right, and she couldn't find anything to say about it, opting instead to continue drinking. Yes, it was fair and she nodded at his suggestion. "That sounds fair." And then they would have to negotiate the value and destination of a soul. They'd probably be better at it since they weren't likely to start actively killing each other as soon as they looked at each other.
"Gadreel, it's good to see you."
“Is it? —Or is it that you are glad to see me because there is something you want from me?”
"It is. There have been a lot of losses lately, and it is good to see a familiar face."

Crowley nodded. “Even someone who fights in a war until the war ends, then gets sent home with post traumatic stress disorder, only to go on a serial killing spree?” He shrugged. taking a longer sip of his wine. “Shades of grey, growing every bigger by the year.”
Yes, that was a lot harder to distinguish between. “It would depend on the reason being the killings.” She wasn’t sure of herself though, and looked down to the wine glass in her hand for help. “That’s where their other deeds come in.” She could understand fighting for their country. Warriors. Soldiers.
"Oh come now, Naomi. Righteous serial killing? Then again, I suppose you could say that’s what the Winchesters have been doing. Still… you get the point I’m trying to get across, right? That’s why there needs to be a discussion about these sorts of matters.”
"I didn't say righteous." She defended. "I just the subject matter of the killing was up for debate. Were they triggered? Was it psychotic?" With a sigh, she nodded. She did understand. "Exactly, and I relented on that. As a gesture of solidarity, I will make sure that the angels allow any demon that crosses their path to make a case. We'll trial it for a week."

"Alright, alright. You’re no fun." Crowley tutted gently, taking another sip of his drink before refilling it. "Right. Even days for me, odd days for you. On our designated days we get the right to argue our case for the soul to go to Heaven or Hell. A friendly discussion, politics. That sort of thing. Does that seem fair to you?"
Naomi sat back with a small smirk, taking a sip from her glass before resting it on the arm of the chair. At his compromise, she started to chuckle before nodding. “More than fair.” Demons politely discussing the merits and flaws of a soul for it’s hellbound destination. “I’m going to assume you mean if they come across an angel near a grey soul. If they start arguing for good souls, there’s going to be conflict.”
Crowley sighed softly. “A man saves somebody’s life one day. You think the good deed shapes his life? He comes home, finds his wife cheating on him, turns to alcohol and drugs. Ends up raping a prostitute, drunk driving and hitting a small child. Do you still think that one good deed defines him?”
What was that- oh. Naomi listened with increasing disturbance. It was actually a fairly common thing among humans though. "Of course not, no. You and I both know that that soul is destined for Hell. Rape and murder don't excuse a few good deeds. The exception is fighting in a war."

"It was shameless and disgraceful." But the way she looked down into her wine glass to hide her soft smile, it was obvious that she agreed. It certainly was… explosive. "I can’t offer your compromises, Crowley, that’s marriage. Not a negotiation.”
Crowley didn’t notice the smile, and even if he had he would have thought it condescending. “Yes, and we wouldn’t want to get married, would we? Then again, we’re usually arguing like an old married couple, aren’t we?”
Naomi nodded and used her silence to take a deeper drink from her glass. “I think if we ever had to ability to get married, the world would suffer when he truly argued.” Grace and… whatever it was that demon souls were made from. Pompeii would be the least of their problems.
Crowley chuckled. “The sex alone… moved mountains, it did.” He said wistfully. “Course, it was doomed for failure, though. Very Romeo and Juliet. Forbidden because of feuding families and all.”
"Crowley," She looked up at him pointedly, though didn't deny him. "I thought we were here to negotiate soul harvesting... and, obviously, to give you a bottle of wine." She chuckled softly and leaned forward to refill her glass, tilted the bottle in question to Crowley.
