what a lot of people outside of the balkans don't seem to fully get is that while sram is an adaptation, it is portraying our reality. i find that ivan and lovro talking about homophobic violence is more compelling than a cuddle scene, because these are actual conversations we have to have and fears we face living in a conservative region and they're being discussed on national television. that underwater kiss means something because queer stories aren't told by our media and i'm glad that, today, teens here can see this. i couldn't have even imagined it.
