Dunk rears back, twisting to look at him, and runs the back of his hand over his sweaty forehead. "You bloody try it then! That's as far as I can get!"
Baelor gapes at him and then recovers himself.
"Duncan, I am hardly a young man," he says primly. "The angle required is quite beyond me!"
"You," Dunk breathes, advancing on him with a dark look in his eye, "are the one who wanted to spend the day spring cleaning. You insisted we needed to clean behind the fridge. You," he pokes his boyfriend in the chest, "are the one who's been standing there and staring at my arse rather than helping me actually bloody clean it!"
He spends a useless half-second attempting to find a way out of this. "Guilty as charged," he admits, with hopefully an appropriately penitent look on his face.
He's not penitent at all, obviously. The stain beneath the fridge appears to be a new form of sentient life, and Dunk straining and grunting and bending in really quite admirable ways is quite something.
"Hmph," Dunk grumbles, and Baelor passes him a water bottle, watches the motion of his throat as he swallows. "Right, new plan."
He has a bare moment to be wary before Dunk seizes him by the hips, but before he can tilt his face up and accept the diversion, Dunk's wrapped a broad hand around the back of his thigh and hoisted. A dizzying moment of arrangement later and Dunk's holding him over the countertop, steering him over and around and - ah, yes, he's a hair's breadth from the stain. Is that oozing?
His revulsion is interrupted by a scrubber being smacked into his hand.
"Get on with it, then," Dunk says impatiently, and there's just an edge of glee in his tone. He draws breath for a furious protest but just as he does, Dunk shifts his hips slightly and something wonderfully firm and hot slides along the crease of his thigh. He shivers.
"Go on," Dunk instructs huskily, and Baelor sets to scrubbing.
Quite frankly yall need to be projecting more on the doms. Make the DOM have guilty sexual fantasies !!! Maybe the DOM is shamefully staring at the ceiling after waking up from a dream!!! Yall are cowards. Do none of you have any appreciation for the noble dom identity crisis. also, he was kingsguard to maekar and developed a deep bond and friendship with his king (maybe not romantic then, maybe yes, maybe all pining tension before its abrupt end and oh the despair of being a kingsguard who outlived his king)
so basically coalescing in a jaded old man dunk who still believes there's good in this world worth fighting for in young dunk's body right where it all began for sir duncan the tall
meeting prince baelor again, who was only ever an ideal for most of his life, getting to know him as a man
and his king maekar, no longer so but so so like him
and then my thoughts go down the political and action plot of really experienced (mentally) dunk dealing with it all
but also the cracky hilarity of baelor being down BAD for this hedge knight from the start trying to get off that pedestal asap
and maekar dealing somehow with this terrifingly competent warrior nobody being kind to him and knowing him and seeing him more than should be possible. also finding out he is dunk's favorite targaryen how the fuck can he deal with that
and then they all kiss the end

I know you said no criticism about the Hammerhedgeanvil poet, soldier, king triad post, but I actually don't think this os criticism. I just think that actually there's no wrong way to put those three in that dynamic. I really think you could make a case for them being any way round.

So when I tell you I stared at that post for like 5 minutes trying to decide which was which I am not over exaggerating, I had thoughts!
My initial instinct was that Baelor as king, Maekar as soldier, and Dunk as poet.
Baelor who would have been a great king, had he but lived. Maekar the warrior, even onto his own downfall, even onto Baelor in the end. Dunk with his love for life, who stumbled over his words, but is so sincere and full of heart. What else could they be.
But then I thought of Baelor Breakspear, hero of redgrass, of course he could be the soldier. Maekar who learns to measure his words, offers a gentleness in his speech even when he is still his abrasive self, so full of grief, yes there's something of a poet in him. And Dunk, Dunk the kingmaker, the king defender, Dunk who roams the realm and serves the realm and defends the realm and perhaps guides the realm through the king that he raised. Yes maybe he could be the king.
But in the end, who could Dunk be but who he was, sworn sword and knight and kingsgaurd. The soldier Dunk had to be. Who could Baelor be but the poet, with his sweet, careful words and gentle voice and his love for the stories and the songs. Who saw the stories they would tell of that day and rose to the occasion. And Maekar, oh Maekar, First and Last of his name, King of the Andals, the Rhoynar, and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm. King and kinslayer, it never should have been him. It was always going to be him. Who else could it be.

I have a lot of headcanons on Baelor and how his mind works. He's simultaneously above all the xenophobic rhetoric that swirls around him and his dornish blood, but he's young and so he of course still manages to internalise some of it. It manifests in a hyper-awareness of all the aspects of himself that make him lesser. His status as heir is nothing but diminished by his lack of dragon or ancestral sword. And as he grows up alongside Daemon who serves as an everpresent reminder of his "shortcomings", I imagine that he'd be tempted by childish fancy like. for instance. somewhat halfheartedly asking your family's long dormant dragon eggs to hatch. not even for you, because why would they, but for your beloved brother, who is by all measures the most worthy of one.
i like to imagine dyanna and jena both match maekar and baelor's temperaments very well. jena is polite and thoughtful and dyanna is spirited and athletic. in my heart, aerion and egg take after her.
i also like the idea of maekar and dyanna having a more passionate relationship and sharing hobbies, like hunting and falconry, while baelor and jena have a more formal relationship and live more separate lives. baelor has many more duties than maekar, but i'm also thinking about how many children they each had. lol
of course, i needed to add maekar and baelor enduring each other's respective courtships as the undertone. how different would things have been if they could marry...
