Crazy concept, people can like a villain or problematic character, and not actually condone the shitty things they do.
People are allowed to like characters that personify a bad guy with a second layer of good morals, who come back with a redemption plot.
Viewers can love a villain purely based on the fact that the actor/actress is bloody brilliant, it doesn’t make you a shitty person. Wild I know.
Furthermore, these are fictional characters, who’s moral compass does not line up correctly with a persons actual morals in reality. You can find a villain or bad guy fascinating (because from an analytical standpoint, villains are very interesting to pick apart and talk about), but not believe what they do is justifiable or okay.
Stop telling people they are inherently problematic just because they sometimes find villains to be more interesting than the good guy. You can like the villain and their story, and not LIKE who they are or what they do. Wow. Foreign concept??
