might be a hater But i fucking HATE the word whimsy its so overused No One even knows what it means anymore like ok buzzword buzzword buzzword bleak ass take Post on instagram with an ugly man in the background . Im so sick Of words
Now that we're almost at the end of Season 3, I do want to go ahead and say that while I have issues with a lot of the plot/characters, same as I did last season, I do think the Oldtown Hightowers are by far the most interesting part of the show this season in terms of characterisation.
The dynamics between Ormund, Gwayne and Daeron are some of the most intriguing, especially when the show has largely pushed relationship dynamics to the side and left many of them under-developed. I actually don't mind some of the changes that the show has made in relation to the Oldtown Hightowers (although I still maintain it's ridiculous that Ormund has not married nor had children).
Ormund is easy to dislike, Gwayne is easy to like, and Daeron is easy to sympathise with.
Kings Landing mass murder subplot
tbh i am not a gwaynston shooter but gwayne starting as a cocky, pretentious highborn lord, looking down on criston and disrespecting him and then slowly falling in love while also becoming disillusioned with war itself is peak actually. After months on the road where he lost his men and saw what war did to thousands of people, and after seeing the effect of war on criston and his suicidal speeches he can no longer entertain ormund's delusions. Because unlike ormund, he was not bathing every morning, deciding who lives and dies from a safe house away from violence. Even without any romantic aspect criston changed him deeply.
genuinely the only scenes i’m enjoying anymore in this fuckass show are the ormund, daeron and gwayne dysfunctional family scenes
House of the dragon season three should be fifteen episodes long and each episode they should add a different side character into the obligatory once-an-episode miserable tumbleton family dinner. Gwayne was last time. Corlys and Ulf excellent additions to the transfer portal. I want Orwyle in there. Ulf’s lads. Sara Snow. Alyn and Baela. Baby Joffrey. That bald guy who was following Criston around. Alicent seems like she doesn’t have anything better to do. Rhaenyra’s knight that died beforehand in the book and maybe disappeared between seasons. Introduce Samantha Tarly. Bring fake Daeron back. Just keep adding places at the table
i love that george rr martin has the same energy when designing characters as 15 year olds on deviantart. one has albinism and a birthmark and one eye. another one has a streak in his hair and family beef. their names are bloodraven and darkstar. warrior cats ass characters.
Black and greens: *plotting and solving problems in beautiful castles*
Meanwhile Criston Cole and Gwayne subplot:
The Black Council : Are sure she can be trusted?
The unbiased queen of nostalgia and yearning:
poor daeron</333 you look just like your mother, sweetie… a terrified kitten literally gave birth to a litter of terrified kittens i’m sick to my stomach
