In honour of finishing watching Star Wars: Rebels, I've decided to rate canon Star Wars ships based on how healthy they actually are.

Be mindful, this is coming from a seventeen year old who has never been in a romantic relationship but watches way too much TV.

So, without further ado...

Kanan and Hera (Star Wars: Rebels). Oh wow, who could have seen this coming? (Me) Seriously though, somehow Kanera is the best ship in the history of Star Wars. It works because they're both amazing characters that happen to be ridiculously in love, with mutual respect for each other. AND they talk about their problems. Properly. Like functioning adults. Which is surprisingly rare to find in SW. 10/10

Obi-Wan and Satine (Pre-TPM but mentioned in The Clone Wars). Is this an unlikely number 2? Yes. But I love it. "He loved her enough to give up everything for her" and "she loved him enough not to ask him to" vibes. I honestly believe they could have been no.1 if they had the chance. 9/10

Han and Leia (OG trilogy). I love these two. Sure it's a little troublesome and they argue almost constantly, but they absolutely accept each other and are truly a 'ride or die' type of ship. 9/10

Kylo Ren/Ben Solo and Rey. (Sequel Trilogy) I don't think these two are canon, but it is implied, so they're here. I don't like this ship. I don't love the characters. But I have seen worse. At least they kind of end up on the same side? Idek. Consider this as a placeholder. 3/10

And coming in last...Anakin and Padmé (Prequel trilogy). Do I have to explain this? Do I? Yah, they have some good moments, but really? Let's see, a traumatised 20 year old "chosen one" and a 25 year old with bad judgement get married after a traumatic colosseum experience, a marriage that is FORBIDDEN. They then proceed to keep said marriage, and later child, a secret, leading to a bunch of avoidable drama that ends with one as a barely alive Sith Lord, and the other not alive at all. They get a point for "Across the Stars" though. 4/10

I think I got most of them? The canon ones at least.

After losing Ben Solo, the world both in real life and in a galaxy far far away mourned him like no other. Reylo became the #1 Tumblr Ship of 2020 iirc and that to me really showed how much love there is and always will be for Rey & Ben/Kylo's relationship and even more for the stories they didn't get have together because of usual corporate stooge bullshit. The world seemed like it was unraveling with people dying everywhere yet hope still persisted and Reylo was the best example of that to me.

The way that Ben Solo has become the biggest problem is karma for Disney and pretty much why they're terrified to do anything with his character. They don't wanna bring him back because of their own inability to understand his importance to Star Wars. They want to make you and everyone who reads this post pay all your hard-earned money with every character they can throw at us that's on the table... trying to run from your fears never works Disney... Grogu ain't saving yo ass bitch 😂

What are they afraid of you might ask? Reylo. It's too powerful to be ignored or suppressed. They can't use Rey yet cause that means the questions about Ben that they're desperate to avoid, in vain of course but let them think they've got us dialed. They keep calling the wrong number. The number is 10. Episode Ten.

You do one final story about The Skywalker Family finally getting their happily ever after. THAT is the only story truly needed to bring the story of The Skywalker Family to a beautiful end.

The only reason it'll probably take till 2030 or some dumb shit like that is because Disney keeps playing in our faces and not being brave enough to give us what they damn well know we fucking want.

Disney if you don't understand how to make a happy ending for everyone anymore, stop trying to convince yourself that it'll all work out... it hasn't and it won't. The longer you run, the more fun it'll be to watch you fall and give in to The Reylo Side of things. The happiness they themselves have cultivated for decades has now taken a new form, Reylo. It haunts them. HE haunts them like he does Rey. It's very meta in a heartbreaking way.

The story of Reylo can go on forever and it will. With or without Disney. They can't stand that. Good. Rey and Ben deserve sooo much better than Disney. I imagine DreamWorks would do a very fun take on Reylo lol

I love the way Kevin's expression softens in this scene 🖤🥹

Personally, I don't think he did that because he realized those weapons could actually harm someone, but because Gwen was the only one who spoke to him nicely and didn't treat him like a lost cause. That's a face of genuine surprise.

One of my other favourite kevin and gwen moments, is when he gets his plumber badge taken away from him, and then he opens to both gwen and ben about his dad, and she tried to cheer him up by bringing him a bunch of materials so he can turn instantly into it but then he patiently explained to her how his powers actually work, and just the way they both would have either gotten angry at each other if they were any other cartoon couple, but they actually communicated through it and the way gwen respected his boundaries about his dad even though she was probably still curious, i also liked how he did not take out his anger on her (that’s ben’s job) and idk why but i always find the the way he absorbed her skin to be so cute.

And also before this he admitted that why he agreed to help them was because a) his dad was a plumber and he wanted to be a plumber as well and b) because he liked gwen.

We actually met when we were kids at an arcade. He was this scrappy little troublemaker and I remember thinking, yep, he's definitely bad news. I didn't trust him at all back then. He had that whole "I do what I want" energy.

Funny thing is… somewhere between then and now, that same chaotic kid turned into someone I really care about. Life's weird like that, huh?
