“Okay, an hour isn’t all that bad.” He’d seen it get backed up for over half a day. By this time, he would have thought he’d get some sort of special treatment for being in this town for so long, but if anything, it was always a humbling experience to be treated like every other human again. “Unfortunate that we will all have lives outside of this, right? But the real reason behind ripping your hair out from waiting here is because of the color of the walls. Something about them gets to you after a while.” He’d had too many trips of waiting to know that.
“ I PROBABLY SHOULD HAVE COME EARLIER , but i’m just holding a place for my daughter who should be back soon , ” at least she hopes . because while she had offered , she had not intended to spend her entire day there . “ but no , an hour isn’t so bad . i know it can be much worse . ” isabelle nods . she chuckles , “ unfortunately ? mh , i don’t know , i quite like my life outside of this waiting room . ”
the real reason behind ripping your hair out from waiting here is because of the color of the walls . she can’t help but laugh at that . “ it’s intentional . the waiting for hours isn’t enough torture on its own . they gotta find other things to add to it . ”

Luna wasn’t sure what exactly gave her the guts to visit a ranch, even on accident, but she wouldn’t admit she was feeling homesick. Maybe that was a piece of it, but the other ones? She wasn’t sure what they were. She hadn’t paid attention to her train of thought or her walking path until she heard a voice greeting her. At this, she weakly smiles before looking directly at the ground. She wasn’t sure if she should tell the truth or try to lie to herself. “I’m sorry I was trying to head back into town, but I guess I just got carried away.” That was a total lie - her car facing the direction outside of town would have laughed at that if it could. Then, she looked up and saw Lina. How did she not realize that a cow was there sooner? Luna’s entire body language opened up, and her voice sped up in excitement. “I knew there was a reason! Um, I’m sorry, I don’t think I’m supposed to be here. This place just reminds me…” No, she wouldn’t admit it, especially not to a stranger. “I totally understand if not because this is very unorthodox - can I just enjoy the nature for a bit?”
ISABELLE OFFERS A SMILE , shaking her head when the other apologises . she has never really minded people visiting so long as they weren’t disrupting anything . “ no need to apologise , i just wasn’t expecting to see anyone today . ” izzy replies . her own smile widens when the other’s excitement becomes evident as soon as she spots lina , and izzy nods . “ sometimes fate brings us places we aren’t expecting . perhaps you are supposed to be here and just weren’t expecting it . ” the shapeshifter hums . she’s curious when the other trails off , but doesn’t push . they’re strangers , and it’s not her place . “ you are welcome to stay and enjoy the nature so long as you don’t bring any harm to anything .” she nods again . “ i’m isabelle , and this is lina . ”

“Oh, no you’re…” Luna trailed off, her shoulders slumping once she got a better look at Valeria. “I just wasn’t expecting someone over here that doesn’t work here.” As someone with unbearable family that she hadn’t seen in years, even in her state, she couldn’t judge. Just getting up and stretching seemed pretty tame, in Luna’s eyes. Luna knew she could never have been so polite. “Are they in here? Do you need some real time away from them?”
“ I PROMISE I’M NOT up to anything , just needed a breather , ” vaya says . she does like her fiancé’s family . they’re nice , it’s just … a lot bigger than she had expected the family of a vampire to be . “ it’s just a few of my fiancé’s relatives and i do like them but … wedding planning is hard enough when you agree on everything , you know ? ” well , maybe not ... she supposes it isn’t really the most relatable thing for everyone . “ they’ve just … been here for so long , ” she concludes , shrugging . she had expected them to return to new york sooner . “ sorry , i don’t mean to unload on you . i guess i do need some real time away from them , ” she chuckles .

ISABELLE STEPS UP TO LINA , leaning forward to press a kiss to the cow’s head . while they did function as a ranch , they also functioned in a way where they were mainly living off the land surrounding their home , and izzy has had lina since moving back to starksville . the shapeshifter turns , when she notices someone approaching . she knows she has painting lessons scheduled for later in the week , but she doesn’t think she’d scheduled anything for today . perhaps they’re there for yoga , since she’d promised one of the ranch-hands his wife could host classes there , so they could save money . or for riding lessons . though the stables are on the opposite side . “ hi , can i help you ? ” izzy asks .

DARK EYES GLANCE AROUND LEISURELY as she debates over what she wants . eventually , she decides she’ll just order an assortment before the siren bounds up to the counter and orders a maybe too big handful of baked goods with a wide smile . she glances at the door as someone else enters the shop and hums . “ i will also pay for whatever they want … and actually you should probably get their order first , since mine is so big , ” she smiles . “ i just … it’s so hard to choose just one thing , isn’t it ? ” she asks . and maybe she sounds — and looks — like a kid in a sweet shop , but she is in a good mood .
