It’s been demonstrated time and again that things have only been getting worse—by Palestinians’ firsthand accounts on here, by on-site journalists, and by the harrowing coverage of all the Israeli terrorism that continues to fly under the radar of mainstream media. To underreport on this genocide is something western outlets have done since Day 1, but now they can get away with it because people are losing interest in pretending they actually care about this ongoing genocide. Just yesterday Israeli forces raided Ramallah, opening fire on innocent citizens & literally setting fire to an entire vegetable market. 2M+ in losses, 5 Palestinians injured, 1 killed. These may all seem like numbers to those who’ve grown desensitized to genocide, but all I could think about is the people whose crumbling lives have been reduced to a lackluster footnote, not even worthy of their own headline in mainstream media’s eyes. If the article isn’t a heart-wrenching read to you, it’s a good time to evaluate if you’ve lost interest in caring for other people’s livelihoods just because it doesn’t affect you directly, just because it no longer serves you to care, or simply because you’ve grown bored of caring

And there’s no neglecting to mention the absolute devastation of Jabalia, with entire neighborhoods wiped out in the blink of an eye. Why? Because Israel claimed it found “Hamas tunnels” there too. And what’s crazier than that is mainstream media reports on it like it’s fact. it’s always Israel forces “concluded their operations;” “pulled out after ensuring no traces of Hamas were left;” “combed through Jabalia in the midst of the Hamas-Israeli war.” It’s never Israeli terrorists killed hundreds of innocents, lay waste to an entire city, obliterated whole lives just like that. We are 8 months into this rabid extermination of Palestinians—on their own land.

All of this is to say—if you deem it below your blog aesthetic to reblog gofundmes, what’s the point? Like actually. This is the time for flooding people’s dashes with gfms, for donation matches, for spreading hyperspecific information about the atrocities transpiring in Palestine as we speak. It’s not the time to be dragging our feet or playing savior or literally anything that’s not simply advocating for the liberation and safety of each and every Palestinian. They’re people, not a concept you can get bored of with time, or only want to help in the abstract—aka reblogging an AI generated image of Rafah and nothing else. We could all be doing more, me included. This is about actual human lives, nothing else.
