Helix System Main Post/Credits/Important info/Download

Introduction:
This is StarshipHelix. Since I got into the Sims 2 PC, 2 years ago, and found out about the massive amount of Hair Systems, I always wanted to create my own. Although I am not really good with color mixing and Photoshop in general (I am still kind of new to PS), I figured, why not just go through all Systems there is, and pick my favorit colors? And thats how the Helix System came to life. It took me 3 days to pick out the colors I liked most, including a Texture to go along with them. My best friend Jules helped me decide on the colors for Black and Red. ♥
Info and Credits:
Of course, since I am using the work created by other people, it comes without saying that I'll add their credit on this post, along with a little explanation. The Texture is from the Clouds System by @osab I got a little tired of the fully matte texture by Poppet and wanted something new. Maybe with a little shine on it. I tried sooo many textures, and in the end decided on this one. Because it is still Maxis-ie with a nice shine and it looks so smooth and soft and gives the hair kind of more depth. Funnily enough. Clouds was the first System I found, back then, and used for a while in my game, before I found Poppet.
Black is Ishtar by Digi My friend Jules helped me decide between Ishtar or Byleth. She said Ishtar has a nice blue undertone, which makes it look like a true black. I am still a bit unsure about it, I don't know if I feel it is too dark, or perfect. I am constantly going between those 2. Brown is by SkittlesSims One of the colors I struggled with the most, I didn't really like any of the Browns I tried, they always had some weird undertones, which I really didn't like. Since I added SkittlesSystem to go along with my PoppetV2 I was already familiar with this brown, so I just defaulted to that one for now. And it goes very nice with the other colors I picked, imo. Blonde is Skjerf by @blackswan-sims This is probably my favorit Blonde I've ever seen. Usually, most of the blondes are way too light or just don't have the right tone. But then I found Skjerf and it is literally SO perfect. Nice, beautiful dark blonde, which compliments the Black and Brown well, I think. BlackSwan did amazing work on this one! Red is Martian by @furbyq Red, along brown, was one of the colors I struggled with the most. I tried Invader by FurbyQ first, it was such a fun color! but too saturated to be a standart for the natural red. I then couldn't find another I liked so I defaulted to Pooklets Molotov and my friend Jules disliked how orange it was. She recommended to find something more Auburn. So I then went back through FurbyQ's color actions and found Martian. Which I previously tried, along with Invader, but didn't like at first. She said it looks perfect, and after I finished some retextures I absolutely got obsessed with it. I think it is a red we haven't had yet in any system. It looks more red than orange and it fits well to all the naturals I picked. Grey is Rahab by Digi Which I always call Rehab. lol I actually googled about grey hair and wondered if it turns darker or lighter with age. Many people wrote it actually turns white more than staying completly grey. Of course everyones hair is different but I thought picking a more white-ish grey could be fun!

About Retexturing:
Of course, if anyone is interested in using the Helix System and wanting to make their own retextures, you are very welcome to and I'd be thrilled! All colors are run over a Volatile Base. I will share the Photoshop Actions and the Texture in a Folder. If the tagged Creators don't want that, please let me know! I will remove it. It goes without saying to respect everyones ToU and don't place behind any paywalls. If I see a Retexture behind a paywall, I'll yeet you to Pluto. If you are sharing, please tag me! (Helix-System) It helps me figure out which hairs have already been retextured and saves me, and others, bunch of time. And I'd love to see your work!
