Elliot looks up just in time to see the kid approaching him. He gets off the generator and starts running from the kidd. Elliot notices the kid isn't as energetic as normal, but he wasn't going to question it much. This kid is trying to kill him after all

So he just keeps running and quickly hides behind a wall

one of his zombie-like minions approached you, trudging towards you slowly as it tried to hit you with... flaming hot pizza.

it's either suffer the stamina disadvantage and risk it by running past him, or take the fire damage and slowness.
