here are a few suggestions on what i do whenever i’m ever in a bad mood, having a boring day, or feeling just plain shitty. i usually do this every other day and trust me it really does help at least a little bit.
shower!! *i recommend to take quick, efficient showers rather than long ones. plus, it’d help you maintain a habit of doing so in school mornings!
put on your favorite [at-home] clothes and underwear.
if you don’t feel like taking a shower, just change into fresh, comfortable clothes
brush your teeth if you haven’t yet. get those teeth smooth and shiny!
wash your face and apply moisturizer
put on lip balm!
brush your hair. put it in a hairstyle that keeps the hair out of your eyes (i.e. pony tail, headbands, clip your bangs to the side, …
open your curtains and let in some air
tidy up the room you are in. clean room = a fresh mind!!
don’t stay in the same room for a long period of time! switch places to keep yourself moving
read at least one page of that book
cut some apples and add some peanut butter! delish!!
or you can toast some bread and then put on some sliced bananas
watch a movie that you always wanted to see on netflix or pick a nostalgic disney film!
make a watch-list or discover new books/music +here is my studyblr music collection!
play with your pet or simply sit next to them! they make such great companions!!
take your pet for a walk, bathe them, …
call/text a friend or family member, at least check in with them
chat with someone on tumblr! +i’m always up for a chat!
create playlists/ clean your music library/ delete junk on your computer and *phone
*transfer pictures onto your computer, then delete things on your phone
update anything that you left in the back of your mind
clean your tumblr dashboard (unfollow sprees, follow new blogs)
listen to coming clean by hilary duff or to onerepublic!

Beer, wine, mead, and cider are fermented beverages.
Mead is made from honey.
Cider is made from apples.
Beer is made from grains.
Beer tastes like beer because they flavor it with hops.
They used to flavor beer with dandelions.
Ain’t that cute?
All beer is either ale or lager.
Ale is fermented at room temperature.
Lager is brewed and store cold.
Barleywine, bitter, porter, and stout are ales.
Pilsner and bock are lagers.
Most of the crap people drink in America is pale lager.
Mosft of the crap people drink in Ireland is dry stout.
Butterbeer isn’t real.
(Except actually I think it is, and I heard it tastes like cream soda)
Miruvor isn’t real, either, but it probably would taste like squash.
Ent-draught isn’t real, either, but shit, it would be awesome if it were.
Wine is made from fermented fruit juice, usually grapes.
Red wine is made from red grapes.
White wine is made from green grapes.
The name of the grape is the name of the wine (Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot are all varieties of grape)
Unless you live in France.
In which case, the name of the place supersedes the name of the grape.
(for example: Burgundies are made in Burgundy, France, but Burgundy wine can be Pinot Noir or Chardonnay)
Champagne is any sparkling white wine.
However, Champagne can also be wine that comes from Champagne, France.
Drink red wine with beef. Drink white wine with fish.

Liquors can be made from grains, fruits, or vegetables.
Grain alcohol is liquor made from grains. Duh.
Gin, Vodka, and Whisky are grain alcohols.
Vodka is grain alcohol and water.
Be careful with vodka. Homemade vodka is poisonous.
Gin is (basically vodka) flavored with juniper berries.
Absinthe is (basically gin) flavored with anise.
Whisky is grain alcohol aged in wood barrels.
Malt whisky is made from barley.
Grain whisky is made from all the other grains.
Scotch is whisky made in Scotland.
Bourbon is Kentucky whisky mostly made from corn.
Don’t fuck around with the Scottish.

Tequila is liquor made from the blue agave plant.
Rum is liquor made from sugarcane.
Schnapps is liquor made from fruit “must” (smashed fruit that still contains seeds and skins).
American schnapps is grain alcohol mixed with fruit flavors and sugar syrup.
Drink apple schnapps only while playing Tekken 2.
Sake is rice wine that’s brewed like beer. Or something.
Avoid these cocktails: Grog, Long Island Iced Tea, Manhattan, Dark and Stormy, Jack and Coke, Piña Colada, Scorpion. They contain huge amounts of alcohol and/or a huge number of calories. That Long Island Ice Tea is the worst motherfucker of the bunch. Just avoid them. Have a lemon drop martini instead.
Don’t drink on an empty stomach or you’ll puke.

Avoid Long Island Iced Teas. Like I said.
Don’t drink and drive because you might kill my Mom. You fuckers.
If your friend has had too much to drink and needs to crash, make sure she’s lying on her side so she doesn’t choke on her own vomit.

Passing out is a sign of being severely goddamn sick. If someone drinks and passes out? They are dying right now. Call 9-1-1.
If you are drunk, don’t drink coffee or caffeine to get sober. Sip cold water and nibble some saltine crackers.

this is awesome except for one thing: champagne champagne is ONLY wine from the Champagne region of France. everything else is simply a sparkling white wine, such as prosecco and cava (which are made in italy and spain, respectively) otherwise this is awesome info if youre gonna drink or if your gonna be a waiter or a bartender or w/e

Finding Happy
I know a lot of you a struggling to varying degrees right now, and that makes me SO sad and I want to help all of you as much as I can. So here are a few things I do/keep in mind when I’m down:
☀️you have to WANT to heal. I am somebody who loves sulking and I love letting my sad feelings engulf me completely, but that’s not productive. I want to be productive and I want to be successful, so in order to do that, you have to want to recover and beat whatever it is that you’re fighting – if there’s a will, there’s a way
☀️fake it – tell yourself positive things, even if things suck and you’re tired; if someone asks how your day is or how you’re feeling, tell them things are good. Of course it’s 100% okay to sit down and have a conversation about how you feel, and it’s okay to be miserable, but there’s a time and a place.
☀️be present – it’s so easy to get lost in our thoughts and forget about what’s happening around us, but stopping and appreciating our surroundings wherever we are is so important for your mental health. Whether you’re at work, in a park, in a library, in the bath, wherever. Take a minute to notice things you wouldn’t normally notice
☀️be kind to everyone – obviously you can’t let people walk all over you, but treat everyone with respect and love. You give what you get, so give good things. Also being nice is just super badass😎
☀️go outside – rain, snow, sun, wind, whatever. Go outside and expose yourself to nature and its elements. Let the earth remind you that there are bigger and stronger things than the demons in your head. Put your world in perspective and appreciate how beautiful life can be. Go find lakes or oceans or green spaces or deserts or mountains or whatever nature there is near you and just BE
☀️challenge yourself – learn a new instrument, read a book, climb a mountain, run 5k, bake cookies, pick something you want to accomplish and just fucking do it. I had Jill Payne come and speak to my class last month, someone close to her once told her that if she wanted to love herself, she had to make a promise to herself and keep it. And I agree with that 100%.
☀️surround yourself with happy, positive people and disconnect from those who inspire negative thoughts. If you have a friend who is constantly bitching and complaining, let them go. Even if it’s a 20+ year friendship, it’s not worth holding onto close if all it is is an anchor. Make friends with the helium balloons of people who make you laugh and smile and cry happy tears and who remind you why you love them and why you love yourself.
☀️spend time alone, but not too much time – be alone, but don’t let yourself be lonely too often. You need to learn to love every piece of yourself again on your own terms. Pick up a new hobby, because if you feel anything like I’ve felt, I’ve lost connection with all of the things I used to love. I used to LOVE working out, you guys know that, but I just took three months off because I stopped caring about it. And that’s completely okay. Let yourself feel your feelings, write it out, clear your head and articulate your thoughts. Sob or throw things or do what you need to do to get your emotions out, because keeping them held inside is only going to make things worse.
☀️reach out – I’m always here, and there is plenty of professional help out there too. It’s okay to talk about mental health and it’s okay to feel the way you feel.
I’m sure some of you will think this is ignorant, and that’s okay. Everyone has different experiences.
