Stolas was used to all sorts of people coming to him for Tarot readings, and he's learned not to ask too many questions. As long as they brought the proper payment and didn't cause trouble, he would do a reading for just about anyone who went into his tent. He smiles over at the person across from his little table as he hands her the deck of cards.
"Please shuffle the deck as you think of your question," he murmurs, straightening the silk his cards had been wrapped in. This was his favorite deck, and it was always the most responsive to the questions others asked of it.
Once the question has been voiced--should love be something she allows in her life?--Stolas takes the cards back from her. With his left hand, he spreads them out across the table, before carefully selecting three cards, one to represent the past, the present, and the future. He gathers up the rest of the deck and sets it aside, reaching for the card on his left.
Stolas takes a deep breath, letting it out slowly as he takes hold of the bottom right-hand corner of the card. He turns it like the page in a book, so it stays the way he pulled it, revealing the first card.
"The Eight of Cups," he says, keeping his hand on the card for a moment. "In the past position, it indicates that there may have been a relationship that stagnated, one you needed to step away from for self-discovery. There was a change of heart, and you did what you needed to do for yourself."
He turns over the second card, looking between the two, nodding.
"That leads perfectly into The Chariot. In the present position, it represents determination. You'll get where you're going, whether that's finding adventure, a new romance, or learning something new. It shows that you have an important journey ahead of you, one that will have ups and downs…, but you'll reach your destination.
He reaches for the final card, revealing the King of Wands. With all three cards revealed, they tell a story, one that makes sense with the question that had been asked of them.
"This card, in the future position, means that it might take some time for you to feel comfortable with yourself, but once you do, others will respond to you positively. Family and friends will notice the change, and the force of your personality will draw others in."
Stolas looks up at the young woman, offering her another smile. "Even if it takes some time, even if it takes you on a journey, allowing yourself the grace to grow, to find love in the proper time will be a worthwhile endeavor."
The cards allow for many possibilities…, but as far as Stolas is concerned, her future may have highs and lows, but it will be bright.
