But Iâm not getting paid to solve his bullshit. That particular statement eked out a memory that sheâd apparently tucked away in her mental âHarry related do not think aboutâ box.
âSo this kid is basically a person shaped Library of Alexandria?â Wynonna had asked one night, chin on his chest and eyes barely open.
Harry huffed, one hand carding through her hair. âSheâs not âperson shapedâ, Wy. She is a person. The Archive. Didnât feel right to call her that so I justâŠShortened it to Ivy.â
She smiled just a little at that. It was such a Harry thing to do. âYou mentioned a bodyguard, too?â
The hand in his hair briefly stilled before moving again. âBodyguard, yeah. Heâs also a contract killer. Kincaid hires himself out to whoever has the money. Whoever he shoots he kills. Efficient as hell at what he does.â And also scary as hell.
Wynonna watched Kincaid turn away from her as that penny droppedâGod she was tired of this sort of thingâand scoffed softly. âFunny that you say that.â
Kincaid chuckled to himself and cast a glance over his shoulder at her. âI guess I shouldnât have been surprised. Knowing Dresdenâs crowd. Send him Ivyâs love. Sure sheâd like that.â
And with that, he slid his hands into his pockets and walked back the way they had come.
