( headcanon: Leviathan / envy. )

Jealousy is what prompted Leviathan's fall in the first place: seeing god shift its attention to humans and displaying a clear sense of favoritism towards them. It felt as though nothing he did, no matter how much he proved himself, he was clearly not worthy of its love in the same manner as humans were. He started resenting them for it, resented Adam and Eve for the way they walked through Eden without a care in the world. He wanted them to fall. And he regrets it more that he angered god than that he helped in damning their entire kind. Even now he feels disdain for those who make deals with hell ( aren't you happy with what god gave you? ) and still makes those who succumb to envy suffer the most, because he sees himself in them.

He also has no sympathy for angels. Clad in their beautiful halos and wings, still pure, still clean, unlike him. His own hands are burned by holiness and stained by feathers trying to slice him as he rips them out. It is masochistic, perhaps, that this could continue to be his punishment, that this is the last bit of god he feels on him.

Sometimes he stands in between blood and feathers and ripped out souls and screams why he listened to Lucifer. And then he does it all again.

Her shoulders still shake with the dying laugh that has ruptured from her chest just moments prior ( loud, scratchy; like the buzzing of endless flies ) and even though he is so, so entertaining, silences spreads between them for the fraction of a second before she takes a step and drags her finger down his chest.

The words ring sharply within his ears, echo throughout his body and leave a stinging sensation in their absence. I wasn't supposed to. Tension is evident in Leviathan's broad shoulders, arms crossed over his chest; an imposing figure but his icy blue eyes remain averted.

The spirit animals of hell: Mammon (wolf) & Leviathan (octopus).

( headcanon: abilities. )

Lucifer: -> pyrokinesis. As the ruler of hell, it comes as no surprise that Lucifer's primary power is fire. He can summon/use it whenever and wherever he deems fit, lighting an aggressive flame that cannot be put out by basic means.

Beelzebub: -> summoning of insects, particularly flies. Beelzebub uses insects to her advantage as they come in swarms and are difficult to avoid in their vast numbers. They feed on anything and everything she sets her mind to. She can also (dis)appear within them.

Asmodeus: -> being venomous/poisonous. Everything about Asmodeus is both venomous and poisonous. Kissing him, touching him, even making him bleed releases small doses of toxins that you slowly get addicted to until you beg for him to give you more. In the meantime, your body slowly deteriorates from it.

Abaddon: -> manipulation and manifestation of darkness. Considering Abaddon is literally darkness, he has control over every shadow in his vicinity. He can appear within them and drag you into them, using hand-like-tendrils to reach and grab. Considering he is responsible for the pit, you can hear the wails of sinners emanating from him as they weep within its eternal dark.

Mammon: -> blood control. Mammon has complete control over her blood and is able to turn them into any shape she desires, most often into needles. If she gets your blood on her, she can also shift it and use it at her will.

Leviathan: -> immense physical strength & endurance. Leviathan is a gigantic beast who is used to crushing ships within his limbs and dragging them to the bottom of the oceans. So it is no surprise he can easily punch and break his way through anything. He is also able to withstand a lot of force.

Belphegor: -> induced fatigue & hallucinations. Being in Belphegor's presence already comes with a sense of fatigue and a desire to lay down and rest for a while. His presence is disarming and you will find yourself trusting him for some reason as he pries away at your walls. He is also able to induce dreams/nightmares and creep into them, experiencing them to break further into your mind.
