Is anyone else, like, extremely irrationally angry that they totally forgot Zuko’s lightning scar from the Agni Kai with Azula the day of Sozin’s comet in the leaked images of the new adult Gaang movie (ok leaked entire movie, but I haven’t seen it and am waiting to see it till it actually comes out), or is it just me 😭😭😭

I did see a gif in which you see Aang’s back and they did keep his lightning scar—so there’s that, at least! But also lowkey it makes me even more irritated about Zuko’s cause like ok you remembered Aang’s but not Zuko’s? When those two were literal character foils and the symmetry of Aang getting his on his back and Zuko’s getting his on the front fits so well? Especially because of the meaning behind each? Like their emotional scars mimic their physical ones? How you could relate Aang’s scar on his back to how he feels like he abandoned his people because he was running away from being the Avatar and getting burned by a 100 year war upon awakening from the iceberg (I.e., getting burned on the back) but also like a scar on the back is symbolic of betrayal or being too trusting/trusting the wrong person which technically it was Zuko that ‘betrayed’ them at that point (or at least it very much felt that way to Katara) anywho I just think it makes sense Aang would end up with a scar on his back.

and then Zuko getting his scar on his front because his emotional scar was from facing his father—first standing up in the war council meeting against the general’s plan, then facing him on the stage and straight up taking the abuse because he didn’t want to fight his father/was trying to show he was a loyal son that didn’t mean him any respect—but also the fact that he got the lightning scar protecting Katara and facing things head on running recklessly and relentlessly straight into danger for someone he cares about is about the most Zuko thing ever so like it also makes sense his scar is on the front

So YEAH

In case you can’t tell I have, like, feelings about these frickin fictional scars on fictional characters and what they mean and wdym you just forgot about it, I—AKSKXBDHSJSNXBXJS
