There are a number of excellent features that help make this updated version of the DaVinci Ascent one that will appeal to users who purchased the previous version.
Rapid Heating: The average heat-up time is roughly 30 seconds, which is one of the fastest versions on the market today.
Temperature Control: With the precision to set single degree intervals, this is one of the most precise portable units for controlling the vaporizing temperature.
Compact: Considering all the features this particular unit offers, one of best may be its compactness which makes it easy to fit into your pocket.
The unit itself is relatively easy to clean and maintain. Plus, there is an automatic timer that will shut off the vaporizer device after a pre-selected period of time. The overall packaging and effort that went into making this a high quality product really shows.
However, the DaVinci Ascent Vaporizer is not without its issues as well. While mostly minor in nature, some of the vaporizer parts need to be considered before deciding to purchase.
Long Charging Time: It takes up to 5 hours to recharge the battery, which does seem a little excessive when compared to similar units.
Heat: For some reason the bottom of the unit tends to get very warm when the unit is being used. While not too hot to the touch, the amount of heat that is lost is rather surprising.
Poor Chamber Design: While not an issue for operation, it’s pretty easy to burn yourself when loading dry herb into the chamber when it is hot. You have to be extra careful with this device.
Plus, the little things like the sticky power button and unwieldy retractable mouthpiece require a little more effort to make the unit work properly than similar devices; which again is more annoying than being a real issue.
Overall, the DaVinci Ascent Vaporizer is pretty impressive with just a few little annoying details to keep it from being perfect. The overall design, compactness, and incredibly precise temperature control are very attractive features which have no doubt led to its popularity. You will have to clean and maintain this unit properly so that it doesn’t get too sticky for optimum performance, but it is still one of the better portable vaporizers on the market today.
