hi I haven't contributed anything to the kengan community in so long so as the resident Filipino person I feel like I should post Lolong headcanons
(no brah I'm not saying Rolรณn I'm just headcanoning that that's just how the Japanese characters say it)
Lojobber I love youโคโ๐ฉน
- he spends around 3 months in Japan but doesn't actually buy anything like souvenirs. he doesn't need them.
- lives in either Tagiug, Laooban of Quezon city, Bacolod, or right in the heart of Manila, Paranaque.
- he gets homesick about the canteens you see a lot on the sides of the street. their menudo is to die for.
- he's a very old fashioned Filipino. so he likes isaw. (street food pig intestines, personally no.) sometimes he'll dip the isaw in the dinuguan (cooked pig's blood)
- sometimes when he feels indulgent he'll make champorado. (chocolate sticky rice stew)
- he loves bulalo, and EXTRA sour midnight sinigang.
- he's actually wanted to try to become a trycicle driver before. he's never done it though. but he definitely commutes via trycicle alot.
- he actually has his own motorbike.
- in the Philippines, when someone is pale in color/looks like him, they call you "tisoy" or "AFAM" (assigned foreigner in Manila) but his mom's genes genuinely just didn't do anything.
- he HATES the word tisoy.
- he used to look wasian as a kid but yeah no
- when he was a kid, he was forced to do the classic Filipino punishments I too received as a kid. kneeling on salt AND rice with books on your head/shoulders.
- he unironically wakes up to the sound of his neighbor's chicken every morning. it's his alarm clock.
- didn't say anything but was actually really annoyed with how people in Japan pronounced his name because what the hell he's not a deo brand sos
- he really loves natipuan beach. he'll go there for water resistance training but sometimes will just drink on the shore watching it set.
- unfortunately he doesn't tan. he just turns pink. he will get aloevera straight from the shrubs near the bahay kubo and use them as moisturizer.
- speaking of drinking, he likes Alfonoso, Tanduay, San Miguel, and Red Horse.
- if he were to smoke, he'd smoke camel reds or fortune.
- actually lowkey has second hand smoke breathing issues. there's a very good chunk of the Philippines that has this issue due to the severe pollution of the jeeps and old school cars.
- unironically falls into the stereotype of being able to play guitar and sing. the song below is my voice headcanon for him.
- memorized the karaoke code for Hangang Kailan, Ang Huling El Bimbo, Beer, Migraine, Torete, and the Philippine National Anthem.
- is actually very patriotic, almost to a wongsawat level, but is more quiet about it. he's more for his people than the government. AHEM AHEM.
- he wishes he was more in touch with his culture. whenever he goes to Japan and sees the festivals there, he wishes the Philippines had that amount of culture that isn't Spanish inspired or died out.
- he actually really likes the Sinulog Festival.
- unironically is very good at tinikling and would like to dance it to practice his footwork. (it's actually a very interesting dance I had to perform it in 12th grade once I think. my ankles were so bruised.)
- he buys his tank tops in 20pc packs, and makes ukay the rest of his clothes.
- regularly buys pandesal lol
- unlike normal people who shout for taho from their houses, he appears in front of the taho sellers. he always gets the 20 size.
- a movie he actually thinks is comedic is "ang pangarap kong hold-up"
- unironically looks out for people without philtrums/that indention in the middle of your lips because in the Philippines, it's basically how you spot the fairy skin walkers, Encanto.
- he loves his slippers, hates shoes.
- his slippers break often.
- he wears all black Haviannas ๐
- his phone is either an Oppo or Honors.
- his internal reaction to how people pronounce his name is "bisaya amputa" jk
- says bakla instead of bading
- his voice actually gets deeper in English/Japanese
- his calves are just naturally built like that. they were always insane from the start.
- HE LOVES LECHON. he can probably finish the whole damn pig in one sitting.
- secretly would love to have a budol fight.
- he likes lechon manok too.
