Maybe... what you think their Qipaos would be like for Chinese New Year? I'd also love knowing what you think Hiyamas would be like(I know it doesn't exactly make sense but maybe half Chinese au?)
Hello! Good question, so men dont wear Qipaos but what they would be wearing modern Tang Suits, Ao Dais and Modern Changshans / Changaos! I won't do a half Chinese AU lol for Hayami he can stay his normal self and still celebrate lol! For Hayami and other Kengan characters it'll be "Lunar New Year" with us just "Lunar" instead of "Chinese". Like I think Saw Paing and Metsudo would definitely celebrate if he was invited and they just have to come on in and enjoy with us Lunar New Year wear our Attire its all good! No AU no Half Chinese needed!!!!
Actually we have seen Shen Wulong, Xia Ji, and Fei, in a traditional Changshans in the manga then we have Xia Yan and Liu who wear Tang Suits in the manga which is perfect for Chinese New Years! New we just pick their cultural colors! No full black, dark blue or white has to have color with it. With that being said I am not doing every character
I actually share my name with them?! My name is Xia ShénMíng 神明 (not my legal name) so I am bias towards the twins because we are "related". And my name contradicts both Yan and Ji so idk if theyd like me or not. Its not "Xia Shenming" Xia is "SH-i!!-AH" very quickly
They have two roles during Chinese New Years, in the middle they both wear matching Tang Suits that are Red and Gold with two twin dragons. BUT during the festivals they are both dancers as The Gold Lion and the Red Lion. They dance together as well a fight each other during the festivals with tricks and explosions. In these manga panles we can see Xia Ji wearings a Changshan and then for Xia Yan we can see him already in a Tang Suit
They started dancing as the red and yellow lion during the main festivals to entertain their elite family members and elite worm members and their guest with their skills. But soon turned into a competition that was one sided with Yan outdoing Ji
Shen Wulong aka The Connector
My name's Shen "shEH-I!!-un..." vs Shen Wulong who is "Sh-EH-n!". This is an example where pronoucing changes the meanings of the same word / name
Shen for the Connetor means "To Extend" my Shen means "spiritual awarness, Godly intelligence"
He's celebrated Chinese New Years for so long it doesnt really excited him anymore however he still goes to the celebrations and night festivals each year to enjoy his culture and he see the buzz that his people still have for it all these years! I think he would wear the modern Adidas Tang Suit Jacket and go on about his day. He does want a paper lantern to hold while he walks the whole time. Shen would be the one who stays to celebrate the longest. No matter how long he has lived this is one of the every few times he feels "alive"
He wears Changshans in the panels I have picked for him
He is used to being alone or forced to be in social spaces so Chinese New Years is not his favorite holiday, regardless he still celebrates it in his mansion. His mansion is normally empty with just himself and a few quite servants that he gives days off too. However he enjoys the 3 week long dinner that his servants prepare, the smells of vase variety of foods, the sizzling of the pans, the smacking of the dumpling presses. He barely speaks but he does thank them for their work and makes sure
After the events of KvP he has become more active during the dinners and can be seen clapping while his servants are working, praising them every blue moon. He will evenly awkwardly stand around while everyone is decorating and setting plates around the kitchen and dinner room but he has a smile on his face that he didnt realize was on his face Its not often but he is trying to say more before the last few moments
Nikaido and The Heavenly Wolves
Nikaido makes himself and the Heavenly Wolves make decorations for their Mansion together, it is meant to be a fun activity but then Nikaido goes all out and expects his family to as well! Instead of putting his attention to his dressing he is putting it all towards making sure everyone has enough supplies, tape, gold, glitter, paper! He makes sure that everyone has their decorations displayed so they can all be proud of their work. He is actually very dotting over his family and making sure they feel just as happy with their decor as he does with his look! He'd rather spend time making decor with them than eating...they are begging him to let them go and eat but they didnt prepare anything to eat but Nikado already has that covered he asked a favor from Metsudo to bring them authentic dishes that they all personally like as their award by the end of the night
They also are the reason why Agito will be celebrating his first Chinese New Years with them
Agito wants to go hunt the Dragon- jkjkjkjk. Also the Moon Festival would be better to introduce him to his culture but this is just as good too, very important since he is starting at an older age to his identity!
I personally want to put Agito in Gold as a contrast to his black outfits, Agito has worn black all of his life so the Gold is to represent his new found light that he has gotten on his journey and to welcome more goodness into his life! Agito is very stiff when he first puts on his Cheongsam but once he sees Metsudo put his on then he feels more at ease. On their private jet ride to China it is just Agito and Metsudo and he hands Agito his Hongbao that he is free to use to his liking once they land in China!
Most of their night is Metsudo pointing to most of the flashy things saying things like "Look look" "well imagine that" "this reminds me of when I was here 67 years ago" while Agito is absentmindedly looking around. He wants to find little things to take home with him so he buys a Ruyi knot to take home with him, as well as the paper horses and lanterns that were being passed around. He took his time getting used to this fun fast atmosphere but he enjoyed himself and being apart of the scene.
Since Agito is so tall especially in comparison to Chinese, he was spotted and got the attention of the dancing Lions, he didnt understand how they were able to blink but he didnt stop them from dancing around him, it wasnt until the Dragon that he really started to enjoy the attention he got. Agito wants to learn how to make mascots like the Horses, Lions, and Dragons once he is home.
Hiyama collects Kimonos with florals on them because that is what her name means and because he helps her take her mind off things, in my own personal headcanons I think she does spa days and self care skin care days in the bath with flowers and floral scented bubbles and soaps.
Since Hiyama enjoys florals for the Japanese Cherry Bloosm festival she makes floral arrangements for her bath / spa days. Once she found out that for Lunar New Year they too have pretty pink floral flowers as one of their symbols she decided she'd participate. Just like her Kimonos she picks a Qipao that also has florals on it, a gold Qipao with the flowers that represent their time, while she picked it for the flowers and their pink color, I picked the gold to bring her light on her journey into the new year.
Hiyama looks to make Lunar flower arrangements for her bath day and takes her time picking the ones that are in full bloom ready to be picked. The flowers are Orchids, plum blossoms, and Peonies to represent their new year and her great taste in scents. She brings her flowers home and puts them in her bath as well as on the side of the tub next to her candles and salts. But the flower arrangement stays there for months until each petal has fallen.
Hayami would do better with the Moon Festival and Lunar New Years would fit Saw Paing very well. Saw Paing is sure to adore the fireworks and dragon dancing. He is wearing gold to the night festivals but the light reflecting the lanterns and fireworks match his eyes and personality very well! Once everyone hears his yells and big smile they instantly know to drag him to the circle to dance openly with the Lions, Dragons, and Horses! Once he does one backflip, everyone will want him to do 1000!
Hayami would be walking around the night festival not saying to much but has a nice polite smile while looking around. Hayami wants to take the night slow so he really appreciates the feel of the happiness and vibe the festival has brought to life. It really is a once in a moment chance for him to come to something like this he really wants to feel the night and makes sure to take any gifts that is given to him, waves a little horse around while the dancers perform, and eats everything handed to him as well
I think Nitoku would go with Liu to celebrate next year! My fiance is Hispanic and he loves this time of year but he cant came dumplings to save his life?? Anyways Happy Black History Month and Chinese New Years!! I love being multi!
