Infographics

How are infographics useful?

Infographics are useful for statistics and learning about the world. You can do a lot of things with it. The pictures used/created are great to look at if you’re a visual person, like me.

What are examples of infographics in everyday life?

Some examples of infographics are, Globes, weather reports, some PSAs, etc. You can turn anything into an infographic, as long as you know what to do. We use things that we don’t even realize are infographics.

What makes a good infographic?

A good infographic uses all the information researched and apply accordingly to their opinion that would catch a viewer’s attention.

Overall

The whole unit is good, but kind of tricky for me, because I don’t really know what to put on there. I have lots of things in mind, but I don’t know what kind of information needs to be put in there. I like the unit, because it’s simple and creative for visual people.

Spreadsheet Unit

In today's session, we learned about the differences in Spreadsheets in Google and Excel. It was easy to navigate around the layout of the spreadsheets, if you've used it before and are familiar with it. One of the similarities between spreadsheets in Excel and Google is the formula bar.

I also like the battling game. We were introduced to it in the last 10 minutes of class; and although, we didn't get to actually play, but it seems very cool. Hopefully, we get to actually play it the next session.

In today's session, we made some light graffiti art. It was a really fun experience, because this is my first time.

I want a camera that is great for photography and video making. I learned that there are different types of cameras for different purposes. My favorite candy has to have something with chocolate in it, since I don't have a favorite candy.

Sound Design

Today in class, we learned how to master sound and make it louder. We also learned how to use ableton and make our own little soundtrack, exploring new sound effects. It was interesting in what I came up with, because I'm not really good at making random sounds become a good beat. But, I'm learning. Maybe, with time, I could become better at this.

Leadership

As I read the different meanings for leadership from my peers, I saw some similarity in how leadership is lead by a person who takes a stand and make positive changes. Lots of the definitions consisted of being able to be open-minded and have a positive outlook on things. Some differences were that some peoples' opinions consisted of a person who controls people and being able to boss (in a good way) people.

I agree with al the opinions of my peers, but I also think that, after reading the article, leadership means you have to work together with your followers and go through the path together to make these positive changes happen. I believe that everything we say and do impacts the people around us. You don't have to be someone well known to be a leader, or someone who goes out of his/her way to make you known for what you did. But, you can simply be a leader in someone's eye for just doing the littlest thing like help them out with something. Leadership doesn't define you, you define what leadership is with what your actions and thoughts on how to go about it.

Colleges Research Blog Post #2

Of the colleges you researched, which would you choose to attend if money were no object?

Since I only got done researching UW-Madison, I would still choose that college to attend. Because I've heard of the great medical programs. Although if there were other colleges with really great medical programs then I would most likely attend those schools, if money wasn't a factor/problem.

What should you do over the next year to prepare to apply to any of these colleges?

I should keep researching and studying more to get good grades to be able to get into several colleges.

What factors will be most important to you when you are choosing a college? Why?

What factors will be most important to me is the size of the campus, because I want to know how big it is and where the buildings are so that it would be easier to know where the classes I would be taking are. And another factor is if the college have the majors/minors that I want to study/learn/take.

What colleges are you interested in learning more about?

I'm interested in learning more about UW-Madison, because I've heard from my aunt that they have the best courses for a major I wanted to take, but it is really hard to get into. Some other colleges I want to learn more about are Harvard, Yale, UCLA, and some more.

Career Results

My three highest interest areas in the Personal Globe Inventory are Investigative, Artistic, and Social. I think my results were somewhat surprising and some I've already seen before. I've never even though about some of them before, to be honest.

Now that I've seen the results, I've considered some, like counseling. I like helping people through tough times and coach them or give them advice to the best of my abilities. Some of the careers, I've never even thought about. I've heard mostly of the counselors.

Websites

Today in the Web design unit, we individually thought of a topic for our own website.

I chose clothing with seasons-like trends of apparel wear-because I like to stay in trend and have a different fashion sense for each season. I thought of my favorite three season and drew some clothing designs of what would look good in that season or what people(just girls) would wear. There would be more info on what the page is about and how the run down is.

In the Web and Logic session, we learned about CSS and how that would make our websites look better and how we can add things to make better changes. I'm not so sure on how i want my background style or color to be yet, since I'm just brainstorming right now. But I know it would look good because I want to be specific and make the website pop out to people.

HTML coding

Today in ITA, I learned how to do more coding of HTML. I've done a few coding before but it was very little. So this would have to be my first actual one. It was very easy to follow along and do the steps and get the different codes for something. I get the hang coding quite well.

We used the ITA website and put it into HTML coding. It was cool to see how the layout of things work behind wheels.

I enjoy Web and Logic a lot. (:

Web and Logic Unit

Today in Web & Logic, we accomplished making and doing a Scratch and also hacking Tenzin K.s website. It was really cool how we used HTML and did some simple hacking. I really like it. Maybe someday I'll become a hacker, haha. (: How do I make the best PBJ sandwich? Well, I don't usually eat a PBJ sandwich, so I guess I just do the simple things, but maybe have like a side of orange juice and something crunchy too make it not plain.

The cutest thing ever!! <3

Today in the 'X marks the spot' class, we did a little treasure map and we used some tools to create the effects. Some of the tools were the pen tool like in Illustrator.

It was okay, but I was having a little bit of trouble doing some stuff but I got a friend and Felipe to help me.

Overall, this class was fun and interesting.

This is Rosee's and I's company stamp for our BTW project. We're not done yet. There's still lots more to do and fix with everyone's critique but we're getting there slowly.

Today in Graphic Design class, we had to do a Behind The Wheel(BTW) project. We had to come up with a company and product logo. The instructor had us randomly pick out an idea for our product. Rosee and I had 'Encouragement'. It was so hard to come up with ideas for this. We had trouble of thinking about the theme and logos to go with 'encouragement'. Hopefully we think of better ideas later on in the process.
