The canon dynamic between MC & the brothers (+ other characters) is great because instead of a "just some guy" human getting freaked out by the otherness of their supernatural companions, it's them being completely nonplussed while said supernatural companions are increasingly freaked out by how fucking weird this human is

Mammon said he could be killed or whatever by Lucifer and comeback after some million years and MC didn't even blink a fucking eye. They didn't even comment on it? Just continued to antagonise him until he did what they wanted? And this was in S1 before they were even friends, they'd probably known each other for a week at most

Meanwhile the increasing distress at MC's 'guess this is my life now/guess I'll just die' attitude is hilarious

The number of times one of the brothers have had to jump in during main story and event canon to say some variation of 'how are you okay with this!?' , 'don't just lay there and accept your death!' and just purely; 'NO!' is God tier

Anyway if Mammon's hair wasn't fully white it would have been by the end of season 1

No no no but Mephisto is actually kind of interesting

Because from what limited stuff I can find online, specifically the mythology.net page for him (as well as other pages, specifically his wiki page which doesnt have much info), he serves Lucifer directly, bringing souls back down to hell as most demons do. Except Mephisto appears to those already on the path to corruption- he doesn't try to corrupt them, to make them sell their soul- he actually warns against it.

Mephisto hates his job. He hates serving Lucifer, and he hates dealing with humans. He hates Lucifer's power, and he hates humanity's weakness.

Other then all this however, we don't seem to know much about him. He was only written about in legend of Faust- a man who wanted to sell his soul to Lucifer so he could experience all the joys and wonders of the world.

When Faust was trying to summon Lucifer/Satan to make the deal, Mephisto said he just "happened to pass by", despite being an attendant of Lucifer.

And, ofc, this isn't the first time we've gotten references to RL lore. There's Solomon with his pacts with "Asmoday" (as written in The Lesser Key of Solomon) and Barbatos; theres the obvious Satan coming from Lucifer (in reference to them being the same person), but there's also lists of the 7 avatars of sin in actual demonology, where Satan and Lucifer are described as being two separate entities, and being the avatars of the sins we know them as.

In short, demonology is really interesting and Obey Me has a lot of little things they write in about the characters (whether its in their personality or some side-lore thats dropped and promptly forgotten about) ((looking at you s1)). The devs really do do their research!
