     ”Such a peculiar statement to make Castiel," Lucifer replies amused. "I would not have thought so after last we met."

     Now that caught the Devil by surprise. The corners of his mouth turn upwards into the common amused grin that usually adorns his face, as he crosses his arms. A lot had to have happened while he was away, the old Castiel would indeed not have joined his side.

     ”And you believe that by joining my side, the fighting will stop?" He doubted the younger angel would agree with his ways. If he was looking for a quick fix, this was not it. 

"What I believe is that anything has to be better than the status quo," Cas explained gently, "and there has it be a better way to do things."

He paused a moment, taking a step toward his sibling.

"Maybe your way is not right either; but it has to be better than what we are doing."

     The elder angel laughs. "Oh, I have no doubt that there is a better way of doing things, but I am certainly not the one to ask or come to for that." He was well away of his flaws and his disposition, he would not be of any help despite his want to help him.

     "Join my side or not. Just don't expect a miracle," he adds dismissively.

        “Cheryl was it?" The Devil replies vaguely remembering the blonde from a previous encounter.

"And what is it that you would do to make the world better?"  Cheryl’s eyes were glaring into Lucifer’s.  "You’d kill off all the humans?  I fail to see how that would make anything better.  Forgive me if I’d like to go on living.  God created earth for us, you know.”

     "Maybe, maybe not," he remarks in regards to killing the human population off and gives her a large shrug of his broad shoulders. "And please refrain from telling me what God did and didn't do. I'm well aware of his dealings child."

"We can't do this anymore."

     ”Well that’s disappointing. And here I though we were finally having some fun," he answers, quirking a brow as he crosses his arms.

"Make me on the top of that list while you’re at it." She replied as her smirk widened while she placed her hand back down to her side.

Emma rested her eyes once his lips met hers and returned the kiss just the same as he did. She gently pulled back when she needed some air but let her lips hover over his with a wide grin, “And what will you do to me if I do?” She asked in a hushed tone.

     "Oh, not much," he remarks with smirk as he draws away from her, untangling his hand from her dark hair. "Just teach you a lesson I suppose," he adds, bright blue eyes filled with mirth.  Resting his back up against a wall, he regards her with a steady gaze, waiting to see what she would do next.

     "And I am exercising my God-given right to be disappointed by his choice," the Devil remarks almost immediately. "I'm not the greatest evil there is Cheryl. The world would be a better place if I were at full power, but that won't happen thanks to Sam's wonderful free will." Okay so the world would be a better place in his eyes...

     He frowns for a moment. He did in fact agree with Castiel on that sentiment, but he knew others in their rather large family who thought otherwise. “Too much has happened for our family to just start again little brother. Too much bad blood and memories rather kept forgotten.”

"But must it be that way?" he asked, his tones even and gentle, "we all know the smallest stone can begin a ripple effect. It could begin with us. To make it stop."

Looking up at his brother, Cas took a breath, considering his next words with care.

"You asked me to once to ally myself with you. I told you I would die first. That was old me. New me? I want it to stop, Brother. The fighting… I want it to be over."
