• She fell in love with Halsin - even though she didn't know what it was at that point - when the local Druid Enclave came to visit and reforge their alliance/trades with Reithwin. They spoke briefly and both noticed the other, admiring each other across the distance between them.

• She's inspired by Laudna from Critical Role, but differs greatly in story - so no spoilers.

• She's a Pisces.

Ladders! 😱 Which is a horrible fear to have cause they're freaken EVERYWHERE in Faerûn! 😩

Love at first sight and 100 years of torture in-between, finally culminating in the most delicious sex and satisfying relationship they'd ever been in 😏✨

What's keeping them together is undying love, excellent sex and lots of kiddies! 🤭

Putting themselves first. As in, telling each other to take time to recharge themselves before giving too much of themselves to others. Self care and boundaries! They're just as bad as each other, but call the other one out 😅

13. Are there any regrets or unresolved issues between them?

Apart from meeting each other sooner? Not really.

18. What was the lowest point for them as a couple?

After many lost pregnancies, Helna drifted into depression; Halsin too. However, with a house full of children already, it was difficult to discern. Shadowheart was the first to realise upon visiting Reithwin and urged the couple to seek help and counseling after so much loss.

It was a very low time for them, but they got there.. in the end.. 😌

20. What's something they'd change about their partner?

They'd honestly change the same thing in each other. Minimising their own needs to care for others.

They have each other's back in that respect though..

What do you think about Helna?

Ahh, the Shadowcursed Warlock. Yes. What a terrifying visage, and a sad tale. Although, the ends justifies the means.

1. What do you mean? No one deserves what she's been through.

2. After throwing her lot in with Thorm and Balthazar, what did she expect?

3. She deserved what she got.

1. Do not be so taken in by her meakness and falsely joyous self. She is a warrior. She is a survivor. And trust me when I say that the her rotted body contains more than just shadows. There is a power contained within her that screams to be unleashed, can you not hear it? When she finally releases her carefully caged might, I would stand far back.

2. Do not be so quick to judge that which you do not understand. General Thorm--Ketheric can be very persuasive. As for that foul, egotistical necromancer Balthazar; he offered her power when she had none. Her ambition is commendable but blind trust cost her her life, however she still stands.

3. Are you so quick to dole out judgement on a whim? No wonder you seek my astute council. Her ambition is commendable but blind trust cost her her life, however she still stands. And her withered body contains more than just shadows. There is a survivor beneath that meek exterior, I can promise you that.

1. I see a survivor. There is something to be admired in that. As someone who has survived countless encounters with death, it is hard not to.

I am cautious of her. Anyone who can survive in such a dark and featureless place as this, has something darker than it's surrounding inside.

Alive

Too Ambitious

When she was alive, she was terribly overambitious; to the point that it was a detriment to her. Not because she needed to be the best, but because her feelings of inferiority - from a constantly abusive parent - made her feel she'd never be good enough.

Not expressing emotions

As the eldest child, in an abusive household, she would never allow anyone to see her true emotions. She would shut down. Unless she was alone, she'd never display any emotion. She found solace in nature; the harmony of sitting with the trees, bathing in the Chionthar.. washing away the pain and hurt she felt.

Mah baby needs some therapy!

Dead

Too trusting

After being alone for so long, she's forgotten how to discern between "nice" and "good". As the journey progresses, she begins to relearn her ability to read people and feels that gut instinct again.

Bottling difficult emotions

Only this time, it's more intense feelings; painful feelings. After going only slightly insane in the Shadowcurse, where she could express herself freely and outwardly for happiness - it's the negative emotions that build. Only now she's an Undead Warlock with a deep connection to the Shadowcurse, bottling that shit up.. is not a good thing.. can be.. an explosive thing 😬

Tav Pokémon Teams!

I would imagine that Helna used to be a mainly Ghost/Psychic Gym Leader but was replaced after a while and now chills with her Pokébuddies! 😌

Mimikyu and Dreepy just speak to my soul for her, as does Slowpoke tbh 😅☺️

Haunter, Umbreon and Mismagius would have been her evolved, fighting Pokémon and the others would have been more companions than champions.

What kind of wedding would your Tav/Durge have?

Well, for Helsin. It's got to be foresty, and full of light and love! 🌿🍂

It wouldn't be a wedding, probably a handfasting ceremony.. ✨

And I'm talking like at least a decade of them being together, if not more.. and one day they decide that they'd like to declare their dedication to each other. Proposal out of the blue, completely unexpected and sweet 🥹

How does Helna feel about leading?

Hates it. 🤣🙈

She often just goes along with whatever the other's think. (I usually play by going off of what the other's suggest in dialogue, then "stumble" into things of interest along the way)

However, she takes the lead in Act 2 - she lived in the Curse for over 100 years and she wants to keep her friends safe there.

By Act 3, it's more of a collective democracy with Hels taking more of a leader-like role.
