Katya Lyne Walked Out Of Her Father’s Home In 1997 And Hasn’t Been Seen Since

Katya (pronounced Ka-Tee-Uh) Marie Lyne was born in El Salvador, but was adopted as a baby by the Lyne’s family. She lived with her father, Pat Lynes, in Federal Way, Washington. Her mother, Trudy Lyne, also lived in Federal Way, but they did not live together. 

On March 21, 1997, Katya and her father Pat got into an argument over her grades at Auburn High School. Pat wanted to transfer her to Federal Way High School to help improve her grades. This is something Katya was very opposed to. Katya left her and her father’s home at 9 pm on the 21st and that is the last time she has been seen.

Her father didn’t know she was missing until the next morning when Katya’s sister Tracy came over and realized she was gone. They waited one more day and on the 23rd Pat reported her missing to the police. Katya was only 15 years old and her father and sister were extremely worried about her. It is noted that Katya and Pat had a very good relationship.

Pat Lyne had been going through a lot of his own issues at the time. His 27 year marriage with Trudy had come to an end, and Trudy was battling breast cancer. Then after that, he had lost his job at Boeing. This all took place months before Katya went missing. 

On March 25, 1997, Pat Lyne took his own life. 

Police wanted to see if there was any connection between Katya disappearing and her father’s suicide. They couldn’t find any evidence of abuse or wrong doing in the household. Family and friends stated that Katya, who did live alone with her father, had never been abused or hurt in any way, but they also stated that they don’t believe it’s like her to just run away. Also, they don’t think that she was ever abused by her mother Trudy. 

Katya was a model prior to her disappearance and attended modeling school in downtown Seattle. She was very familiar with the streets of downtown Seattle and there’s a possibility she could be there. 

There have been unconfirmed sightings of Katya in Seattle, Puyallup, and Midway, Washington. Katya also had no gang relations or ties. She did change schools often and it is reported she did have problems with her parents.

Katya Marie Lyne has been missing now for 20 years. She was 15 years old at the time of her disappearance, but today she would be 35 years old about to turn 36. She is classified and an ‘Endangered Runaway’. 

Katy’a birthday is November 28, 2981. At the time of her disappearance she was 5′3″ and 125 pounds. She is a Hispanic Female with brown hair and brown eyes, but she may dye her hair another color. She has a mole on the right corner of her mouth and she has her nose pierced. She has a tattoo of the letter ‘K’ on her right ankle and a tattoo of three dots on her left hand. 

Katya is noted to have looked older than her age by up to 7 or 8 years older, and she has Hispanic features but might appear to look Asian. She is of El Salvadorian descent.

Althea Blankinship and Her Son, Jeffrey Blankinship, Disappeared Under Suspicious Circumstances in 1973

Althea was 23 years old the last time she was seen or heard from. Her birthday is October 24, 1949. She was 5′7″ and 140 pounds. She has blonde/brown hair with blue eyes. She may also use her maiden name of ‘Marks’. She is of Greek decent. 

Jeffrey’s date of birth is listed as two possible dates, August 3, 1969 or December 3, 1969. He was 3′5″ and 75 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. 

Althea and her son Jeffery were last seen on March 27th, 1973. They resided in Port Townsend, Washington where Althea lived with her roommate Glenn Allan Bagley. Bagley said he dropped Althea and Jeffery off at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, where Althea and Jeffery were going to catch a United Airlines flight to New York. From New York they were going to travel to Greece where Althea was going to meet up with her parents who were already there.

There was no record of Althea or Jeffery boarding a flight that day, and they never arrived in Greece.

Glenn Bagley has remained the main suspect of this case. He is also the prime suspect in the disappearance of his ex wife, Esther Gesler, who disappeared in 1976.

Bagley would continue to claim that Althea and Jeffrey both made their flight and went on vacation until Althea’s cousin was searching through a relatives home and found Althea’s passport in 2002. There were no entries on the passport. Althea had also never been issued a new passport making it very unlikely her and Jeffrey ever left the country. The same cousin of Althea’s also found a bunch of letters between Althea and Glenn Bagley and found out that they were in a romantic relationship. 

Right after the disappearance of Glenn Bagley’s wife, Esther, disappeared, Glenn moved to the Philippines and lived in Manila for many years. He never spoke to Washington State Police, although they were always working to build a case against him.

Unfortunately there will be no more answers from Glenn Bagley. He died of cancer in February 2016, in the Philippines. 

All the puzzle pieces lead to Glenn Bagley, but we need to find Althea and Jeffrey to bring closure to their family.

Douglas Becker Missing Since 1992

Douglas John Becker was last seen in Anacortes, Washington on November 5, 1992. I will say that other sites do also say that Douglas was last seen in Oak Harbor, Washington on November 5th. 

Douglas was 16 years old at the time and he was having a rougher time. He was reportedly hanging out with the wrong crowd and possibly dabbling in drugs. Douglas was also facing time in juvenile detention for a burglary. It has been reported that Douglas wanted to stay away from his home in Oak Harbor because his mother’s boyfriend was reportedly abusive towards him.

Douglas went to stay at his friend’s house in Anacortes, and he was sleeping on their couch. Apparently his friend’s parents told him that he was going to have to leave, so Douglas was making his way back to his mom’s house in Oak Harbor. He wanted to make peace with his mother, but his mother and sisters had no idea he was on his way back to their house. 

Douglas’ mother didn’t realize he was missing until she called Anacortes to talk to him. That’s when she realized he had left to come to her house but never arrived. She then called the Island County Sheriff’s Office to report him missing.

The friend’s parents that had asked Douglas to leave said that he was going to hitchhike back to Oak Harbor. The police initially thought that Douglas had intentionally ran away to avoid incarceration, but then more information piled up. Police were informed that Douglas had been receiving threats before his disappearance. His mother kept hearing that her son was killed in a drug deal gone wrong. Douglas had also left all his belongings, including his ID and wallet, back at the trailer. 

Douglas has been missing for almost 25 years now. He would be 41 years old today. I would also like to note that some agencies list his date missing as “August 31st, 1994″.

Douglas was born on August 31st, 1976. He is of Caucasian and Native American decent. He was 5′6″ and 140 pounds at the time of his disappearance. He had black/brown hair with brown eyes. Douglas was 16 years old and could go by the initials D.J.

He also had a scar on the back of his head, a scar on his right calf and a large mole on his right shoulder.

3 Year Old Tyler Jennings Inman Non-Family Abduction/Missing

Tyler Jennings Inman was a blonde haired, blue eyed little boy who would go missing on the evening of December 21, 1982 from his Aberdeen, Washington home. 

Tyler was 3 years old and his birthday is May 27, 1979. He was 2′8″ and 32 pounds. He was noted to have warts on his right foot at the time of his disappearance. He was last seen in a short sleeved shirt and blue jeans. 

It is reported that he was last seen by his mother, Sherrie, who left Tyler and his 5 year old sister with a teenage babysitter so she could go play bingo. At 8 pm Sherrie’s boyfriend (Jeff Green) came home and relieved the babysitter. It wasn’t until around 10 pm, when the mother came home, did they realize Tyler was missing.

Some news articles list that she came home at 10:20 pm while others list 10 pm exactly. Jeff Green, the mother’s boyfriend, said when he came home he had to pull/dock a boat from the nearby river. It only took Green 25 minutes and during that time they assume is when 3 year old Tyler wandered away from the house. Even with this information, Tyler still wasn’t noticed to be gone until his mother returned around 10 pm that evening. 

During that night in Aberdeen there was a sever storm that had winds reaching 70 mph. That storm also killed two other people that evening. 

Two weeks after Tyler’s disappearance a woman, Shirley Anderson aged 40 from Aberdeen, told Aberdeen detectives that she kept having visions of Tyler near the Wishkah River. Police sent divers and searched the river but with no luck or clues. 

Police did believe at first that Tyler probably fell into the Wishkah River, but after divers searched and couldn’t find his body, they did change his case file to ‘Non-Family Abduction’.

Some websites say that police now believe that someone broke into the house that night and took Tyler from his bedroom. Tyler Inman has not been heard from or seen since.

Tyler’s mom, Sherrie, died in 2016 at the age of 58 due to cancer. Jeff Green is in his 50′s and is believed to still have ties to the Gray’s Harbor area.

Tyler has been missing for almost 35 years and would 38 years old today.

There have not been many leads over the years with this case. The Aberdeen Police Department said that they had no immediate plans on resuming the investigation but they did say, “If something comes up that prompts opening that case, we’ll do it,” Police LT. Kevin Darst

16 Year Old Matthew Garnes Got Into His Car and Disappeared Almost 33 Years Ago

Matthew Paul Garnes was a 16 year old student at Curtis High School in Washington state when he disappeared in 1984. He was on the school’s baseball team and also had a part time job at a Texaco gas station. 

Matthew was born on July 26, 1968. At the time of his disappearance he was 5′7″ and 135 pounds.

He had brown hair and hazel/brown eyes and a freckled complexion. Matthew had healed fractures to his right elbow and his right foot. He also has a 3 inch scar on the right hand side of his face on his cheek.

Matthew, who also goes by the nickname Matt, was last seen by his parents after he told them he was going to be leaving for Portland, Oregon. He left his Tacoma, Washington home on December 26, 1984 shortly after talking to his parents. 

Matthew was last seen wearing a black, sleeveless Iron Maiden shirt, Jeans with a size 30 waist, Size 9 1/2 Nike sneakers, and a black leathers Wilson’s jacket. Matthew also had on a silver chain necklace and a maroon and gray scarf. 

He left in his 1974 Gold Plymouth Duster. The car contained Washington State license plates with the license plate number BUX-160.

Police originally thought that Matthew was a runaway but circumstances surrounding his case are unclear. 

Unfortunately there isn’t a lot of information on Matthew’s disappearance. He disappeared almost 33 years ago and would 49 years old today. 

It is unclear if he ever made it to Portland, but it is assumed that he did not. It is also unclear if they have ever located his car. I will say though that they still have his license plate numbers listed as if the car has never been located. 

This case does have little information, but just because a case has little information doesn’t mean it cannot be solved. You never know what someone might remember hearing or seeing.

The Abduction/Disappearance of Lindsey Baum

Melissa Baum had just moved from Tennessee to McCleary, Washington after a divorce from Lindsey’s dad. McCleary is west of Olympia and is a small town of about 1,600 people. Melissa wanted a new start in a peaceful town. 

However, on June 26, 2009, 10 year old Lindsey went to her friends house to play at the pool and I believe her brother Joshua and other kids were present as well. Lindsey and her brother stopped by home very quickly and then they left with a small group of kids where they all were walking to another friend’s house. 

Lindsey and her brother did have a disagreement over Lindsey leaving her brother’s bike somewhere and Joshua got mad. Joshua was told to leave by a family friend who had observed the fight and wanted to break it up. Joshua left the group and had made it back to the house without a problem. Lindsey made it to her friend’s house and asked her friend if she would spend the night at her house. Her friend’s mom told her another night. That’s when Lindsey would proceed to make her 10 minute walk home alone, but never would show up.

Lindsey is reported to have left her friends house on Maple St. probably a little before or right at 9:15 pm (has been reported as 9:30 pm by the sheriff Rick Scott) The last sighting of Lindsey was between 6th and 5th streets on Maple Street. Lindsey only had about 4 blocks (also reported as 7 to 8 blocks) to walk home to her house on East Mommsen St.

Melissa waited for her daughter but felt something wasn’t right. She called the police at 10:50 pm and that’s when an extensive search for Lindsey took place. The search held no evidence or clues to where Lindsey could have been. 

Lindsey had no money on her and had left her cell phone behind. Police do not believe she left on her own free will but it’s more likely she was abducted. Police also searched Lindsey’s computer for any clues of who she was communicating with online, but nothing came of the search. Lindsey’s father was still living back in Tennessee and had no contact with his daughter for about a year or a little over a year. Melissa Baum and the family friend that was present that night both took polygraph tests and passed. 

Police released that they had a person of interest in the Lindsey’s case. His name is Timothy Hartman. He owns a jewelry repair shop on the 4th off of Maple. Hartman originally told police he was not in town at the time of Lindsey’s disappearance. Police though had a gas station CCTV recording of Hartman making a purchase at 9:15 pm in McCleary. Hartman argued that he had a class that didn’t let out till about 9 pm or maybe a little after that in Belfair. He showed police his class certificate but the FBI found out that his class actually ended at 8:15 pm. 

“I still don’t remember being here the night Lindsey disappeared, but they have me at Mike’s (Market) at 21:15 on their camera, ‘cause I looked at the picture, and I said, ‘Yeah, that is me.’ But I still don’t remember being here at that time.“

Hartman then told KOMO news that he had an ambulance run later that night and when he arrived back home the search for Lindsey was already underway. Hartman claims that Chief George Crumb of the McCleary Police Department had asked him to join the search, but now says that the police chief doesn’t remember asking him to join the search. 

Hartman stopped searching that night and went home. At about 1 am he said he couldn’t sleep and decided to go searching for Lindsey. He then ran into Lindsey’s mother, Melissa, and drove her down to a creek where Lindsey was known to go and play at. No trace on Lindsey was there.

Hartman did take two police polygraph tests. The first one he was told he passed but later told he failed. He took a second polygraph test and police say it is ‘inconclusive’.

I do believe that Hartman is still a person of interest in this case. Hartman has always said he was innocent and had nothing to do with Lindsey’s disappearance. 

Then on August 19, 2017 a tip came in from Shelton, Washington. It was from a person cleaning out their relative’s home. Three elderly brothers live in the home, Charles Emery, 82; Thomas Emery, 80; and Edwin Emery, 78. In their garage was a disgusting hoard of child pornography, child clothes, games, videos, and other disturbing things. They had a bunch of missing children’s posters and among them was Lindsey Baum. These brothers had lived and shared the home together for about 55 years. These brothers had molested their own sister and other female relative over the years. 

Police now are trying to see if any of the brothers were in McCleary at the time of Lindsey’s disappearance. Shelton where the brother’s house is located is about 27 minutes away from McCleary. 

The search for Lindsey still continues. I do believe there is still a 35,000 dollar reward for information leading to the whereabouts of Lindsey Baum. 

Today Lindsey would be 19 years old. When she disappeared she was 10 years old about to turn 11 in a month. Her birthday is July 7, 1998.

 Lindsey was a small girl at the time of her disappearance. She was 4′9″ and 80 pounds. Lindsey is a white female with brown hair and brown eyes. She has a scar above her left eye and a dark birthmark on the inside of her right wrist.

 Her ears are pierced and she has colored fillings in her teeth.

 She went by the nicknames of LJ, Sissy, and Sassy.

When she disappeared she was last seen wearing a light blue-ish gray hooded pull-over shirt, blue jeans that had tears at the knees, a mismatched blue, orange and white bikini under her clothes and black leather slip-on sneakers that had a geometric design on them.

Jamie Grissim Missing Since 1971

Jamie Grissim (or Grisim by some agencies) went missing on her way home from Fort Vancouver High in Vancouver, Washington on December 7th, 1971. 

Jamie was supposed to be home between 1:00 - 1:30 pm and never showed. Police initially ruled her a runaway. Her foster mother and biological sister did not believe she ran away. 

Jamie and her sister were both wards of the state but she got along with her foster mom. She also did very good in school and was very bright. In May of 1972, almost 6 months since she had disappeared, Jamie's purse and ID were found along with other of her possessions. They were found on a rural road in Northern Clark County.

 Police now believe that Jamie did not run away but could possibly be the victim of Warren Leslie Forrest. Forrest is currently in prison for murdering a 19 year old girl named Krista Blake in 1974 (some sites list 1978 or 1979 because that was the time of his sentencing). Police believe he is responsible for the murder of 6 women (A local Washington news station has listed him responsible for 8 murders possibly) in the Vancouver area. Jamie's belongings were found 1 mile away from two of the victims bodies. 

Although, Forrest picked up hitchhikers and Jamie was not hitchhiking, he could have offered her a ride home. He offered a ride home to the 19 year old girl he murdered in 1979. If Forrest did abduct Jamie she would be his first victim. 

Something else interesting is that Forrest and Jamie attended the same High School, but Forrest attended years before her. Jamie was 16 years old when she disappeared. She is 5'4"-5'5" and 125 pounds. Jamie was born November 11th, 1955. She has brown hair and brown eyes. Her hair had just been bleached blonde and was slowly fading back to brown so it gave off a reddish appearance.

She wore reading glasses and had one missing tooth. She had hearing loss in one ear and suffers from a skin condition called dermographia. It causes red lines to appear where she itches.

Warren Forrest had not been convicted of the 8 women’s murders or Jamie Grissim’s abduction.

He went up for parole on August 9th, 2017. He was denied and is set to spend at least another 7 1/2 years in prison.

But as of August 23rd, 2017 Warren Forrest’s DNA has been identified in two of the murdered girls cases, Martha Morris and Carol Valenzuela. Detectives now say that Warren Forrest is a serial killer. They are now seeking out Martha Morris’ boyfriend at the time of her disappearance to see if he can solve any other missing link in their information. These DNA links could put Forrest behind bars for the rest of his life, no more chances of parole, granted he is currently 68 years old.

Hopefully these DNA links will help detectives in linking Forrest to the other girls who they believe have fallen victim to him.
