âI hate Kryptonians. And what are you? A Kryptonian.âÂ
The words continued to swirl in her mind, burn their spot into her conscious. The entire realization that Alex, her Alex had been lying the entire time. Had been using her. She had trusted him and even though it had been days, weeks even, she knew one thing and that was that she didnât regret telling Alex he should have let her die.
Because death would have been much better and more respectable than this.
Now she was trapped again, confined. Only this time she was trapped but on display in an even worse way than before. And even though Alex had shown his true colours, she had still thought the world of Lena. Everything she had read about her, getting to meet her. She truly radiated brilliance. Surely she was different, after all if Kara Danvers was friends with her, she had to be good.
But Alex had been right about one thing: People disappoint.
âI would not know if it was morning or not, being cut off from the outside and all.â
Came the simple reply as she stood from her spot, shoulders back, posture perfect. After all Lena may have disappointed her, but she was taught to be respectful and disciplined. It was in her nature after all.
Despite the fact she knew there was a barrier between them, a barrier that could actually harm her, it didnât stop her from standing as close as she could to it. Lena may have been able to dampen her abilities but that didnât mean she couldnât use her knowledge to try and figure out what it was the woman was up to.
âI suppose you plan to run more meaningless tests on me? I may not know what you are trying to accomplish but I can promise you, itâs pointless. Much like a lot of the spectacles in this country. I could tell you anything, educate you, as Iâm sure you could do for me. But instead you want to play God and dive deep into research that will get you nowhere. Such wasted potential.â
Most of the time, Lena preferred to not really look at her subject unless it was specifically needed for her research. After all, she wasnât a huge fan of kidnapping and holding another living being prisoner - but she had managed to desensitize herself to this. After all, Snowbird wasnât human. Simply a pet that belonged to her brother.Â
â   You donât know what tests Iâm running, so how could you know it can get me nowhere?   â
She shook her head, settling down and pulling out her folders to go through paperwork. Lena had to admit, these particular papers had nothing to do with any research involved in that laboratory, but she had recently found comfort in working through things in the company of someone else. Someone that had yet to completely screw her over.
â   You know very little about America. And I do envy you for that. Most Americans are foul.. Whether they be born American, or new citizens. They disappoint you, Snowbird. You learned that from my dear brother.   â
