Idk if it’s been pointed out before, but this is from the bible of the show (written by the creators) and I thought the last sentence was interesting.

“If Mike is the Elliot of our show, Eleven is our “E.T.””

If you’ve seen the E.T. film, you’ll know that Elliot develops a deep friendship and special bond with E.T., but there’s never anything romantic between them.

Does Elliot still get a romantic love story?

Absolutely! With the blonde girl from his class (can’t remember her name), who he gets together with during the film.

If Mike and El share a bond like that of Elliot and E.T. (which the creators themselves state) then they sure are very close friends, have helped each other grow and can rely on each other at all times but that bond, however deep and meaningful it is, remains strictly platonic. Seems like a romantic storyline is reserved for someone else… I wonder who it could be 👀

One thing I love about Thamepo is that since the beginning, every single episode has ended on a positive note. The phone number, the phone call, the hand holding, you name it. Even when there was a bit of angst and we thought Thame had forgotten about their movie date, he showed up and they hugged! Great times.

And now that the characters are going through really dark times, I thought there was no way we’d get one for this episode... But they still managed to conclude it on that cute little life essentials scene, even if it’s just a flashback. That’s what makes this show so comforting: we might suffer for a little bit, but they will always make sure we leave the episode with a smile! 🫶 (a teary-eyed one, but still a smile)

Some thoughts on the Jack and Joker special episode potential spoilers (because nothing is confirmed):

I seriously fucking hope they don’t kill Joke, for three reasons:

1) This is a special episode. You don’t kill your main character in a special episode?? If you really want to do it, you do it in the series when you have enough time to show the aftermath of their death, how their loved ones grieve, you make it make sense with the rest of the story, you set up for it so it doesn’t come out of nowhere. But doing it in an isolated episode after the main conflict in the series was solved? Worst screenwriting move of modern history istg.

2) This episode is meant to heal us. So many people complained there wasn’t enough romance and happiness in the series, so this episode was supposed to give us exactly that: happiness and healing. You’re telling me they would take this happiness away from us with something that tragic? You’re telling me they would do the fans dirty like that on a random Saturday? Coooome oooon boys.

3) Killing Joke is literally homophobic idc what anyone says

So until the episode airs internationally and we actually know what’s going on I’ll gaslight myself into believing Joke faked his death (for the plot) and Jack thinks he’s dead but then they reunite and all is well. They keep running the school together, get married and adopt Toi Ting.

So, about Thame not hiding his face when in public with Po…

Honestly at first I burst out laughing when he showed up in a very public place with his face 100% exposed, held Po’s hand and declared his love to him, like bro have you not learnt your lesson after everything that happened with Pepper and Gam?

But I think he has very much learnt the lesson, and that’s precisely what’s driving me insane. Because this time, him not hiding his face wasn’t just carelessness: it was deliberate.

By doing this, he’s basically saying: “I’m ready to face the immense amount of hate that could come my way - because it’s nothing compared to the love I have for you”

I love it here.

I can see it as being an act of defiance, but Thame isn't considering the vitriol that would be directed towards Po, in case their relationship becomes public. Like, the so-called- fans were cyber-bullying Gam after her relationship with Pepper become public. I just hope Thame and Po have that conversation.

Though I think Thame would stay by Po’s side if something like that happened, and would defend him publicly in the hope that it would make a difference in the industry, he still should have talked about it with him and with the members. Which is why I think unfortunately a breakup is inevitable, because Po knows that the only way to protect Thame, the members and himself is to be the one who leaves.

Yes, the breakup seems inevitable😭. Thame would want to stay by Po's side and defend him, but I think Po would see the futility in doing so. Another detail that is being glossed over is that the label kinda threw Pepper and Gam to the wolves inorder to protect Thame and only Thame knows about it. My boy isn't sharing this with anyone else. It definitely is gonna get messy once the truth comes to light.

No because you know what I absolutely loved about ep 9, from what I personally understood?

The fact we didn’t get to see ThamePo’s first kiss.

Because let’s be real, that time when we see them kiss for the first time… How natural it feels? And the lack of surprise from Po even though Thame basically threw himself on him out of nowhere, as if he was expecting it? I feel like neither Thame nor Po could have waited that long before breaking the tension between them. I think they did it a loooong time ago, and this scene is just another day of them reuniting after being apart for a while.

To me, this was far from being their first time, and I just like the idea that their actual first kiss belongs to them and only them.
