what if... chuu is an asshole and is actually really verbally abusive? i dont understand why so many people are rushing to her side without concrete proof other than "she would never" makes me kinda mad. what if shes a really manipulative person? if so she got like millions of people fooled. and that makes me mad
What I hate about internet justice is them ignoring the basic tenet of law/judgment: innocent until proven guilty. Chuu or her supporters have no duty to provide evidence that she did not do it. Instead, BBC should provide evidence that she did. BBC doesn't have that. Until then, Chuu is innocent.
Second, character evidence is also important. Who are you more inclined to believe: a company known for mismanagement of its staff and artists by not paying them enough, or Chuu who is known to be kind and appreciative?
Three, do you really think that several people, including businesses who would normally drop endorsers at the , will willingly put themselves in danger if they don't believe in Chuu? Do you think they are all in cahoots to basically slander BBC?
Fourth, circumstantial evidence. Consider the timing: why would they say this now, when Chuu is trying to earn more money by filing a lawsuit and building her own company? Also, consider that she has not done any LOONA related activities for a while, so the chances of her interacting with BBC staff is pretty low.
Again, sure, there is no 100% guarantee that Chuu did not do it, but the chances of her not doing it is pretty high. That's why people are defending her: faith, and for me, sheer probability. There is no guarantee that the Sun will rise in the East tomorrow, but the probability of it not happening is so miniscule it's not even worthy of attention.
To be honest, I will support Chuu no matter the outcome. If she is innocent (which is most likely), then she deserves it for being a good person. If she really is manipulative, I would love her more, because how brilliantly evil do you have to be to convince millions of people that you are an angel?
P.S. As an unlicensed psychologist who graduated from University of Buzzfeed (I took so many tests), are you okay? Seems like you have a fear of being manipulated/betrayed that you already assume the worst in Chuu, to the point of being mad. If you just want to hear "both sides of the story," then sure, but BBC doesn't even have a story yet, so....
I'm going to add on.
Multiple testimonies have come out from former staff, past partnerships/brand deals, current working staff. Even a music critic was speaking against BBC. Sunmi posted support.
I doubt you can decide that's fake across so many people who have come out in support.
Also, I second the point in character profile—a company who is known to mistreat and mismanage their artists in the name of profit vs an individual who has time and time again proven their kindness and gratitude on cam and off cam to multitudes of people—I would be more likely to believe the latter.
Finally, this is a message to the more impressionable within my follower base—the basic tenet of law is always this:
Innocent until proven guilty.
Internet justice takes it the other way round and everyone is immediately guilty without trial. If you keep this attitude beyond the internet, you will realise how many actual injustices you will commit in the name of justice, ironically. Many people are quick to condemn without even attempting to fact check, and this is a skill I've seen many younger folks lack—they'll hang on to words that come from falsehoods and condemn a cause they know nothing about, only to end up wrong and ruin another person's life due to their lack of knowledge.
Your actions have consequences, and this is not just for this case—this goes beyond. You don't know who you hurt other than yourself, and how much you actually hurt yourself without bothering to fact check things before judging.
