Damn
July 23rd is always a day that I can’t help but take a second to reflect.
Things are obviously very different today than they were eleven years ago, but for most, the pure and unadulterated joy that one direction brought us for those five years will never grow old. These feelings don’t expire, sticking permanently in our memories and a soft spot in our hearts; like the uncontrollable smile that would break out when one tweeted something even the tiniest bit funny or the sneaky elation that settled in our chests as we listened to leaked songs for the first time while we should have been sleeping.
For so many of us, there were times when one of the only reliable sources of happiness in our lives stemmed from the band. Our online communities of fellow fans became a safe home base and created lasting relationships that far outlasted the band themselves. Spotting a picture, hearing a song, or reading an old tweet do more than just what the various media intended, but it brings back all the connotations of friendship, community, and the very special bond that is created over shared interests.
What I’m trying to say is that One Direction was special, not only culturally, but so important and unique in the way they brought happiness and companionship to so many.
Happy Eleven <3

To the people trying to defend Harry and his team regarding tour: please stop.
They had ample opportunities to announce things (literally anything) or even send out an email stating that due to the on going pandemic tour dates are still being finalized and are tentative. Stop trying to make people feel bad for spending money on tickets when this show was suppose to be almost a year ago. People have a right to treat themselves and experience things.
And it’s not just a matter of “you can resell the ticket or just get a refund”. No. People have hotels, flights, etc. so many fans aren’t fortunate enough to live in one of the 30+ big cities he’s touring and need to travel so kindly get off your high horse. I had to sell my NYC tickets back in June of last year cause I couldn’t afford them anymore.
The lack of communication from everyone involved (CAA, Ticketmaster, HSHQ, Harry) is disrespectful and disheartening. So many other artists have been able to reschedule and announce it without a problem and Harry and his team have the platform and money to do it all so I don’t want to hear it.
This is his job. He sold a product/service and now is refusing to confirm/deny what’s happening with it.
Let people hold them accountable. LET PEOPLE HOLD HARRY ACCOUNTABLE.
And just to add to this: it’s not just about money and tickets and hotels and flights. It’s about getting an experience you not only paid for and hoped to have whenever things were okay again taken from you in the cruelest of ways.
The people who aren’t bothered and are trying to defend this are the ones who weren’t affected by it. But I guess it’s easier to defend him and his people when you’re the one being benefitted by their careless decisions.
