*Twig stifles a yawn as she walks into her bedroom, pushing the curtain out of the way. She rubs her eye, looking at Roxas as soon as she noticed him.*
Ah, you're home.
~ @heroineofthewild
He pushed me off the clocktower.
*The statement is blunt, annoyed.
Didnât fall again, but I damn well thought I was fucking gonna!
*Heâs too distracted by his anger at Blade to broach any other topic for now.
*Twig frowns, going over and sitting next to him.*
I know, I told him off for it. I'm sorry he did that, Roxy.
*She leans against him, resting her head on his shoulder.*
Are you okay?
*He leans against her back, letting his head rest lightly on hers.
Oh Iâm fine. Pissed, but fine. Fucking SaĂŻx of all people found me. Heâs still a bastard.
*Having her here does make him feel better. He loves her.
He's the...blue-haired guy I met when you took me to Twilight Town, right?
*She stifles another yawn, hiding it behind her hand.*
So that's what Dad meant... Well, at least someone was there to help you, even if it was someone you don't get along with. I don't want you to get hurt because my dad's a little bit of an idiot.
Yeah, that rat-ass bitch. I canât believe heâs Axelâs friend.
..What about you? How do you feel?
Right now? Tired... Overall? Stressed as hell... Today's been...eventful for me too...
Mm.
*He takes a deep breath, giving a small smile.
Anyone ever tell you you smell nice?
*He kinda just wants to lay down and cuddle. Maybe itâll help Twig feel better.
*She snorts, smiling softly.*
No... I'm sure I smell like a lot of things right now...
*She sighs softly.*
If I'm being really honest, Roxas...I'm scared...
âScared of what? Iâll go beat it up for you.â
*He shifts, scooting back on the bed further, waiting for her to follow. He wants to cuddle.
*She snorts, looking at Roxas as he moves back, following him shortly after.*
I don't think you can beat this up, Rox. You actually probably shouldn't.
*She cuddles into him, yawning softly.*
I know Dad told you...about me being pregnant...
Mm. Yeah, I ainât beating that up.
*He smiles, gently holding her close. He loves her. He loves her so damn much.
Sâthat whatâs scaring you? Why?
We're so young...and I thought I was careful...
*She curls into him more, tears welling in her eyes.*
I'm not ready to be a parent, Roxas.
I saw you when youâre older. I think youâre a cool parent. You had some bird kid with you.
Weâve got Sora, Ven, your dad. Ruhi. The others have told me Axel isnât a very good dad, but weâve got him too.
...
*She's quiet for a moment before sitting up and looking at him.*
I'm sorry, you've seen my future self? Like, me as in me and not Tear? When did that happen???
Also, time travel is a really finicky thing, Roxas, you shouldn't have told me that. I assume by "bird kid", you mean a Rito child...
*He frowns when she sits up, doing the same.
Uh, a while ago. IâŠForgot, that Iâm not sâpossed to tell. Yeah, Rito kid. Didnât see me, but somebody called âim. Sounded happy.
But that means everything works out.
So it was while you were still within Sora...
*She states, thinking.*
I...see... That...does reassure me a bit...
How...are you feeling about this? I mean, you probably have barely a clue on what's going on...
Mhm. When we still had the same body.
*He smiles softly when she admits it reassures her, even if only a bit. That was his hope, after all.
I meanâŠYeah, I donât know shit about babies..But like I said; weâve got people we can talk to about it, right?
Hell, if you want me to Iâll even go see if one of the fuckers from the Organization knows anything good about a kid. Theyâre all meant to have their hearts back.
I mean...I know a little bit...and Dad says he has parenting books. Could always talk to my aunt â though she'd be pissed you got me pregnant, despite this being my fault â as she has a daughter.
*She shakes her head.*
I thought you didn't like them? Why would you want them to know something so...personal to our lives? I also don't know them so I wouldn't be comfortable with them knowing...
Axel and, uh...Xion, is one thing, I suppose...
Ehh..I mean, so long as she doesnât pull any cheap tricks I can handle that.
No, I donât, but some of them have worked with Sora before. Ven said he even met Vexen caring for Zexion when the guy was a kid. And I wouldnât tell them about you, just like, ask if they know anything about babies. Sora said I hold grudges really hard, and that theyâre not bad people not that theyâve got hearts.
*He still doesnât get why you donât like Xion. But heâs not stupid; asking now wouldnât help.
Yeah; I can ask them but I donât think they really know anything. Xionâs the same age as me, and Axel taught me a lot of stuff that I donât think you could pull off with a baby.
Oh, Auntie Urbosa isn't like that. She's more likely to just have a strong word with you, but also reassure you that she's there if we need help. Well...not all the time because she has chief duties and all of that, but it wouldn't be like what Dad did.
*Twig shrugs.*
I wasn't...saying ask them. I meant telling them about the, uh, baby... I just... So many people know already, I didn't even get to tell you myself â I yelled at Dad for that one. I just...don't want too many people to know without me saying it's okay.
Iâm fine with it if she wants to like fight me or something. Just no cheap tricks.
*He smiles at her, being honest. He really wouldnât mind fighting her. Even if she wonât, he doesnât mind it.
Mm..Well, can I tell Ven and Sora? I wanna tell Ax and Xion too, but..
*Well, if Twig says no then Twig says no. He guesses he has to listen?
She's not going to fight you.
*Twig giggles.*
She has no reason to.
Well, I figured that one would be obvious. I'm sure we'll see them enough that it'd be difficult to hide anyway.
But yes, telling Sora and Ven is fine too.
*She stifles a yawn, rubbing her eyes.*
*He smiles when she giggles.
I dunno.. It seems like lotsa people wanna beat the shit outta me nowadays~
*Heâs teasing, joking with her. He trusts her words, but wants to make her smile more.
*He grins at her statement, hugging her again.
Youâre cool, babe. Yâknow that?
I don't.
*She states. She hums when Roxas hugs her, curling into his hold.*
Oh? How so?
Well you sure did when we met.
*He laughs as he says it, resting his head against hers gently.
For one, you keep teaching me shit I didnât know. Two, you gave me a specific reason to wanna be me other than because Sora said so and to spite the others.
You ran into me, literally, and would've destroyed my garden if I didn't.
*She says with a soft smile.*
Well...I got to meet you without it having to be through Sora. I didn't have a prior connection to Sora so I got to see you as you, not an extension of him.
*She's quiet for a bit, just relaxing in his hold.*
Aren't you... Aren't you at least a little nervous about this?
Hey now, it wouldâve been Sora, but he went on the defensive when you started defending hahah.
And holy fuck am I glad you did. Youâre the first one, outside of Xion and Sora, to really see me. Everyone else thought I was just Sora. Even though, yâknow, I look nothing like him and didnât have his memories.
MmmâŠI dunno. What does being nervous feel like? Cause I might be, and just not have a name for it.
That's like saying I'm Hylia because I'm her descendant and have her powers, or that I'm Sky because I'm, again, his descendant and have his spirit... I don't know if you understand any of that.
Well, it's different for everyone. For me, I feel restless or on edge, depending on the situation, and my hands shake and my heart races. It's kind of like fear, it triggers the same "fight-or-flight" feeling.
Mm..Not really. But you mean calling me Sora is bullshit, right?
Also, the fuck does descendant mean?
*He gives a hum at her explanation.
I dunno..I feel like I wanna go fight something, but like, not âcause Iâm angry? If that makes sense?
Yes, at least you understood that part and that's all that really matters right now.
*She giggles.*
So, you know how I have a father that's not Blade? I'm his daughter, but that also means I'm his descendant. Sky is like...my very great grandfather, more or less. There's to many greats in that title and a lot of guess work to figure out the actual generations between him and I.
*She nods.*
As I said, nervousness triggers your "fight-or-flight" response, and your default is to fight. I kind of just...freeze or fight, depending on the situation.
*RoxasâŠDoesnât look like he gets it. Heâs trying, but he doesnât understand. Heâs happy he got her point earlier, but now heâs just confused.
*In response, he simply shifts to hold Twig that little bit closer. He loves her very much.
Well. You think we could set up a place I can just punch shit? Eventually?
*Twig nods with a tired hum.*
Yeah, add it to the training area outside, shouldn't be too hard to set up.
... Should we...tell everyone? I mean...obviously Dad knows, and Jun knows... But...
Depends on who âeveryoneâ is. Who do you want to know? Iâm cool with the guys, Axel, and Xion knowing. But the guys say I suck at keeping secrets.
Thanks, babe.
*Oh how he likes calling her that. Sheâs his, nobody elseâs. If someone tries to take her, heâll fight them.
Well, yeah them... I just...don't know who to tell on my end... Revali knows... But do I tell my aunt? Or my best friend? Or the princess? It's just...stressful to figure out...
*She's quiet for a moment before her eyes widen.*
Fuck! I almost completely forgot! I need to tell you something important. It's, uh, not related to this, but it's important regardless.
âI definitely vote best friend.â
*Hd blinks at her statement.
âWhat is it?â
*Whatâs so important that it makes her react like that? He canât help but wonder about it, even if he knows sheâll tell him.
*He loves it when she does that. Heâs sick and fucking tired of not being told shit.
I'll have to take you to meet her.
Okay, I don't know where he is, but I do know who has Vani. His name is Uranium, he's impersonating a friend of mine and uses a dangerous magic on people to get his way.
Vani managed to reach out to Jun, and when I saw Jun earlier today, Jun told me.
I wish I had more information, but knowing Uranium has Vani is enough because I've...ran into Uranium before, and his magic is similar enough to my friend's that I could possibly figure out the where part.
*Roxas sits up, staring at her.
âYou- what? Does Ven know? You need to tell him, or I will.â
âGod, if they teamed up⊠Okay, I- I could..*Probably* open a Corridor to go get him. No way we could let Ven do it, and Sora would fight. Iâd be the best at a stealth mission, yeah..â
I only found out today, Roxas. After getting home, I was dealing with Dad.
*Twig shakes her head.*
From what I've gathered, Vani doesn't want to be there. Essentially, he's been kidnapped.
Okay, but how are you going to find Vani? I never met him otherwise I'd just tell you where his exact location is via sensing his magic. And I can't go through Corridors, not that I should go anyway since I'm pregnant.
Right. Right, sorry, I just-
*He gives a scoff of a laugh.
Dumbass, getting himself kidnapped.
There are two ways I can make a Corridor; to a place, or to a person. Now that we know the dumbass has been captured, Iâm sure Ven would be more than happy to make me go get him.
Er- if, youâre okay with it. I can get Sora to tell Ven if youâd rather.
I...
*She pauses, looking down to fidget with her tunic.*
I know that it'd be smarter to probably deal with this sooner...but I would rather wait...at least until the morning? It's late, I'm tired and really just want to cuddle and go to sleep because of how...overwhelming this day has been...
Mmm⊠What all did Jun tell you about Vanitas?
*He lays back down, holding her close. Heâs trying to judge if he needs to tell Sora and Ven tonight or if it can wait for tomorrow.
All Jun said was that Vani is hurt. But Jun's tone didn't tell me that it was an urgent issue.
*She snuggles close to him, yawning softly.*
Mm. Then yeah, it can wait.
*He holds her close, closing his eyes and letting himself relax. He loves her.
*She hums softly, closing her eyes.*
Okay, thank you... I love you, Roxas.
*It's a few hours later when you return to the castle. Its a bustle of activity and it appears that the guard rotation is going through. Zelda stands with Wren as he directs.*
*She waves you over. Beaming widely as she spots Fyn. Giving Wren a little nod before he moves away to continue his work.*
You made it! Oh its good to see you both! How are you?
future @the-real-lu-sky
Auntie Sun!
*Fyn runs over, a big smile on his beak. Twig follows behind, a small bow and quiver in her hands.*
Mama said that Uncle Sky is feeling better and that we can see him!
Hey Sun, he's very excited.
*She smiles. As she gently kneels to Fyns height. Hugging him as he gets close.*
He is certainly well enough to take visitors. Espically a visitor who is simply so important.
He's been excited to see you as well. He cant wait to hear all about your birthday. Hes been very tired but he's been resting to make sure he can see you.
*She looks at the bow.*
Oh wow! Look at this! Did you get this for your birthday too?
*Fyn hugs you back with a chirp.*
Yeah, Mama said that he still needs a lot of rest, and that I can't play with him as much today, but she said that I could play with Wren!
*He nods excitedly, turning to Twig to get his bow from her. After she hands over the bow, Fyn turns back around and holds it out to you.*
Yeah! Dada made it for me and Mama made me a quiver for my arrows!
A joint gift, I knew he was going to end up with a bow so I just made a quiver before Rev could order a custom one. A much better gift, in my opinion.
That he does but he will be excited to hear all of your super exciting stories.
*Wren lifts his head at his name and turns. Waving his hand before making a series of numbers with his hands.*
He needs... twenty minutes. Then he will be along.
Oh wow! Look at this! Its beautiful. Youve done a good job on this both of you. Did you give them lots of hugs and thanks?
*She stands up.*
Come on. Shall I take you up?
Yeah! They're my favorite gifts! But, uh, don't tell anyone else that. I don't want to make anyone sad.
*Twig giggles at Fyn's concern. Everyone at the party was able to tell which gift Fyn loved the most.*
Don't tell Sky, but I didn't get much rest when I returned home from my visit earlier. Was on the phone with Ven for a good while...
Really? Well thats understandable.
*She smiles. Leading you both to the staircase.*
I suppose I will just have to tell uncle sky that his present will be second place.
*she giggles.*
*As she takes the stairs she turns to you*
I'm not the one who you are supposed to be persuading. But I shan't tell him.
How's having your full sight back? Strange I imagine?
*Fyn gasps.*
Noooo, don't tell him!
Maybe not, but I can still talk to you.
*Twig pauses for a moment. She hadn't told Fyn yet.*
It...is. Getting up is dizzying, but I seem to be fine outside of that. My depth perception is a little off but I'm sure it'll adjust with time.
*she laughs.*
Okay okay I wont tell him
I can understand that. Just take it easy. Okay?
*She takes you to the door that you know to be skys room. She nods to the guards outside the door. Before giving a knock.*
-ello?
*A sleepy voice sounds through the door.*
Ive got someone very special here to see you... are you awake enough?
Mostly...
*You hear shuffling.*
You can come in. I'm just moving...
*She smiles.*
Are you both ready?
I could say the same to you. How have you been holding up?
*When getting to Sky's room, Fyn is practically vibrating, nodding at your question. Twig chuckles.*
I'd say so. Just remember that he's since recovering, Fyn.
Okay Mama.
*She gives a smile.*
I'm okay. Very busy but I've had plenty of help.
*She places a hand on the door. And it gently opens. Sky is slowly moving himself so he's sat on the edge of the bed. He's still pale. Zelda moves forward placing a hand on his shoulder and helping him sit up.*
Take it easy...
I'm doing okay. I promise. I've got to see the birthday Boy now don't I?
*He smiles towards Fyn.*
Hey kiddo... how are you?
*Twig and Fyn follow Sun inside the room. She gently encourages Fyn to go talk to you as he suddenly seems nervous. He walks over to you.*
Hi Uncle Sky, I'm okay. Are you feeling better? Auntie Sun said you were sick.
*He smiles softly.*
I'm not scary I promise. Come here...
*I offer my arms out. I'm certainly not quite able to lift you fully. But I will try as hard as I can. It takes a lot of effort but I do lift him besides me on the bed.*
I'm certainly better than I was. But what I got made me very very sick. Luckily its not contagious and my doctors are sure I will make a good recovery.
I'm sorry I missed your birthday party. Ive felt just awful about it.
But did you enjoy it? Tell me all about it.
I'm not scared! Mama said I had to be careful around you because you're sick.
*Fyn giggles when you pick him up, kicking his legs as they dangle off the bed. He tilts his head.*
What does contagious mean?
If someone's sick with something contagious, they can get you sick. Since Uncle Sky is not contagious, it means he can't get you sick.
Oh, okay!
I did! Look!
*He holds up his bow and quiver full of arrows.*
Dada made me a bow and Mama made a quiver to go with it! Mama also made a lot of food and a really big cake! She didn't really anything, though.
*Twig clears her throat.*
I'll...explain that one to you later, kiddo.
You are doing a very good job.
*Zelda moves and sits on the other side of me. and gently holds me upright.*
I thought it would have been awful for you to go through all of the travelling and then get sick!
Oh wow... that's quite the craftsmanship. I bet thats your favorite present right?
And what else did you get?
*Fyn nods excitedly.*
Yeah! Dada's a great bower, he said he'll teach me when I'm older so I can make a bow for when I'm all grown up, and then I can be a Rito Warrior like him!
I got a lot of toys from everyone else. Robin and Stella both got me books, and Isa got me a pair of goggles. Rito don't really need goggles, but there are some Rito who wear them because they're cool looking, and Auntie Tear wears them, so I think they're cool.
You are going to be the best bower this side of hyrule.
*I lower my voice to a loud whisper.*
Dont tell Wren.
*You can see a hint of a healing spell from one of Zeldas hands as I continue to speak to Fyn.*
Oh wow! Sounds like you got everything you could possibly need!
*I turn to zelda.*
By the sounds of it hes already got so many toys he simply dosent need our present huh zel?
*She shakes her head. But she does stand up. Making sure I am steady before moving away to one of the bookshelves.*
*Fyn giggles when you tell him to not tell Wren.*
*He gasps.*
No, I want your present too, Uncle Sky!
*Twig hums softly, walking over to Sun.*
You okay, Zelda?
Oh... well.
*I giggle as I squeese fyna shoulders.*
I suppose we can arrange such a thing dont you?
*Zelda nods and pulls a wrapped box from the bookshelf.*
Thank you for checking in. I know my limits and I want fyn to have a little time with Sky before he needs to rest again.
*She passes the box to sky.*
Here you are.
*Inside the wrapped box is a small wooden loftwing carved out of a few types of wood. Its wings move independently as its lifted out of the box.*
I hope you like it kiddo.
*Fyn giggles, kicking his legs as you give him a squeeze.*
*Twig nods, offering an understanding smile.*
*Fyn opens the gift once it's handed to him, his eyes widening and a smile forming on his beak as he looks at it.*
Wow! It looks like Crimson! I love it, Uncle Sky, thank you!
*He carefully moves the wings on the Loftwing, in awe of it.*
*Sky smiles softly as fyn opens the present.*
Its a joint effort! We are glad you like it.
I made it myself. Your auntie was the one who made it so the wings can move. If you tilt it it looks like Crim gliding.
*I make a tilting motion with my hand.*
*Zelda gives a gentle nod.*
Your uncle is good at making the figures but when it comes to moving parts he always fell a little short.
Zel!
*She chuckles.*
*Fyn giggles.*
Thank you, Auntie Sun! I'll make sure to take good care of it!
*Twig smiles softly.*
It's a beautiful gift, thank you both.
I hope so! Its been through quite the battle to get here.
*Sky chuckles. It seems they've discussed this.*
Im a little clumsy in my old age you see fyn. But you cant even tell.
Of course. Nothing but the finest craftsman ship for our nephew.
Indeed.
*Twig hums softly at the explanation. Works for her.*
*Fyn giggles and nods.*
Silly Uncle Sky, if you're getting clumsy, you should be more careful! I don't want you to get hurt!
Yeah yeah I know. Poke fun at the clumsy uncle I get it.
*I laugh.*
When you are my age you will understand
Nuh-uh! I'll never be clumsy!
Didn't you almost trip coming out of school because you got excited to see me?
Mama!
*Twig just smiles lovingly.*
There's nothing wrong with being clumsy you know. In fact i reckon it makes my flying better.
*Zelda raises an eyebrow.*
Yeah?
Yeah. I jump and fall of crimson all the time. Meant I got more practice for when it really mattered.
I think that's different, Sky.
Is falling scary? I think I'm a good flyer, but I'm scared of falling.
You'd think so.
He's fallen off the diving platform before.
It was one time!
*I wave a hand out in front of us slowly.*
Falling is only scary when you are not in control of why. Once you get over that hill. And realize that pretty much every fall can be controlled by you.
Then its a game really.
Even I've done it.. Though that's because it was the only way to get off the sky islands at the moment.
*She grimaces. Just thinking about how high those islands are bothers her.*
Much prefer to be inside a volcano.
*Fyn giggles.*
*I shiver.*
How can you like volcanoes?! They are awful! And stuffy!
Burned out my lungs being inside one for too long.
Flamebreaker armor does wonders, though I got mine custom made. The regular ones are too clunky to fight in.
*She shrugs with a smile.*
Now then, I think it's about time for Fyn to go play with Wren, yes? Uncle Sky and I have to talk before he gets too tired to deal with me.
All I got was earrings. Didn't help with the smoke...
*I roll my eyes. Giggling.*
She's going to tell me off again Fyn. Save me.
I'll go and get him shall I?
Not you too!
*I squeese Fyn on the shoulders.*
*Twig giggles.*
I am not! I did that earlier.
*Fyn giggles, nodding at Sun.*
Yeah! I'd love to go play with Wren!
Traitors. All of you! Betrayed by my own family!
*I pat Fyn on the shoulder. Still giggling.*
Go with your anunt. Show Wren just how good with bows you are. And I can... see you later okay?
Hehehe, okay Uncle Sky! I can't wait for you to get all better, so I can show you too!
*He hops off the bed, making sure not to drop his new figure and his bow, before walking over to Sun with a smile.*
That sounds like a plan kiddo.
Now come along Fyn. I think Wren was in the training yard last time I saw him.
*With that she leaves. Fyn in tow.*
*I look at you.*
So... what can i help you with?
*Twig hums as Fyn and Sun leave.*
Called Ven when I got home earlier.
*I watch Fyn leave and as soon as I know they are out of earshot I visably deflate.*
I... its hard to keep that up. He seems so excited though...
*I give a smile.*
Oh?
*She gives you a small smile, reaching into her bag and pulling out a container of pumpkin soup.*
Made ya some soup if you're hungry. Found I couldn't rest for long, unfortunately.
And yeah, told him about my proposal, he got mad at Vani. But he wants me to prove it to him that I can reverse it. He wants me to fix something with Vani as proof.
Told them I'd talk to you, since you want to be present.
Thank you...
*I chuckle.*
You get it from me.
He got mad at Vani?
Did he tell you what? Or is that part of the test?
*I place a hand on my chin.*
You think me talking to him would help?
Aren't you known for being a sleepyhead?
*She teases.*
Yeah, because...Vani's known about me and thread magic this whole time, which I constantly forget he did. So it's not that I lied to you, pregnancy brain isn't my friend at the moment.
Either Vani's leg or their connection, either I can do, but the connection thing would take more work.
*She shrugs.*
I won't stop you, they just want to know your answer.
Look just because zeldas called me that for years...
*I raise an eyebrow. But decide not to question it.*
Forgive me for being worried about this. But... yes. If that what it takes then fine.
Maybe work on his leg as the eaiser thing. Work up to sight and ther connection later?
No, you're fine. It's only fair in my opinion, since I did lie to you about all of this.
*She sighs, sitting next to you.*
Yeah, that'd probably work. The issue with their connection is that I don't...know how I'd have to go about it. It'd be a specific thread on both of them and if I'm right about that, I'd have to find it and repair it on both of them at the same time. At least that's my theory.
*She rubs her face.*
Vani's been trying to get me to fix him since we met. I always said no because I didn't want to use thread magic, and I didn't really know how to fix him because I didn't realize that reversing it was just easy for me.
*She laughs lightly.*
Ah, I guess he's finally getting his wish, though. At least partially.
Think about it this way.
If you work on the smaller things first. you'll have seen the threads of them both deeply. You might see the threads on them. If you can see it and know what you are looking for then you should be able to find it and maybe even see a solution before you go to try to fix it.
I still don't like this. I still hate the idea of it being used at all. But that's what I think.
If he's been asking for a while then maybe say your fixing it in stages?
*She nods.*
No, that makes sense. General how I'd go about it anyway. Having the ability to see threads without having to touch people is useful for these situations.
*She frowns, crossing her arms.*
He's been asking for twenty years, he'd call out that bullshit the moment it left my mouth.
We have a mutual understanding which doesn't matter now since people are finding out about my use of thread magic. If he or Ven asks why I'd have to work on the connection at a different time, I'll just be honest, it ain't gonna hurt them for me to tell them that I need more time to look at their threads.
Who knows, you might find a thread that's broken on each of them and it goes back together again just like that?
If he starts getting mad about it you can always just blame me. Technically that is also the truth here.
Well, yeah, it's just about studying them. However, in my... relatively short experience, touching the threads speeds up the process. Sure, I can see the threads, but unless I know a person's threads really well, then I have no idea what each other does. Like Roxas, I know his threads really well.
I doubt he'll be mad, annoyed at most.
Touching the threads...
I don't like this...
touching them changes them no? Surely that's dangerous.
Not necessarily. I'd have to actually want to change them and put effort into changing them to change them...usually. But just touching without the intention of changing them just lets me know what that thread controls.
So you'd be able to locate the thread that binds them together.
Okay, thats good. I think.
*I still seem unsure. Looking down at my hands.*
Basically. I'd have to do it anyway since they want their bond fixed...and it seems like it was snapped with thread magic, so only thread magic would be able to fix it.
*She tilts her head.*
Are you okay?
I...
I'm sorry i know you are fully capable, and that your connection to the goddess means you are more suited for this than anyone but i...
*I stop myself.*
I'm... Its stupid. I'm sorry. And I trust you with my life ten times over i just... don't know if I trust the magic itself...
*Twig frowns, before sighing softly. She cautiously takes your hand, squeezing it.*
I do wish there was a way to ease your worry, that I'm safe even while using it. That you and everyone else is safe.
It's not stupid, I...
I'm not sure how you still trust me like that when I lied to you about something so serious. I don't know why people aren't angrier with me.
*I look up.*
Because as far as I'm aware, nobody knows to be mad at you?
I hate it don't get me wrong. But. You had your reasons. Especially with how much angrier i was back then.
If I'd have known I... Well look at what happened between myself and Green. There's no telling what I would have done.
But it'd just be easier if-
*She cuts herself off, biting her lip and looking away.*
*It'd be easier if people were angry with her.*
I don't...understand the comparison...
You think it would be easier if people were angry with you?
*I sigh.*
I think that's a similar logic that my brother had once upon a time.
If I had known back then that you had thread magic. After I'd just come off of losing Green. Who was also using thread magic. I'd have probably seen you as lost as well.
*Twig sighs, looking at you.*
It sounds stupid from an outside perspective, doesn't it? Oh...I'm not...Green though. I don't know what Green's done with thread magic, but I was always afraid of using it on a person. I still am...it's why I'm so caution about touching anyone right now.
No. No its not... Sometimes you just want someone else to just yell and shout at you because its easier than the alternative.
Its... I'd rather not discuss the specifics. Its not my story to tell, even though he's still remembering pieces.
I just.
*I sigh.*
I really hate the stuff...
The alternative being?
It's fine, you don't have to speak for him. I'd honestly rather not know...
*She leans against you.*
I know...I'm sorry...

*Twig stifles a yawn as she walks into her bedroom, pushing the curtain out of the way. She rubs her eye, looking at Roxas as soon as she noticed him.*

*She sighs as she steps through the portal, a wave of exhaustion rolling over her. Making a portal connection to some place new is always exhausting, but having Roxas go before her made it a little easier. Didn't take away the exhaustion though - no much did these days, she's always tired now.*
*They're visiting Ven today, for some reason - her head's a little foggy, she can't recall why they're here. She's never met Ven as, well, himself, only ever within Sora. She just hopes she has the energy to deal with this.*
@heroineofthewild
*Roxas is currently arguing with Sora, but when Twig arrives, she sees a boy with platinum blond hair sitting on what almost looks similar to a throne. Soraâs standing next to him, a hand on his shoulder, as Roxas tries to tell him to leave. Aqua smiles politely at Twig.
âHey. You feel okay?â
*Roxas had mentioned that Twig would probably be tired when she got here, from making a portal.
Just go on your date with the jerk! You told me heâs been talking about this for two days!
It is so not a date, Rox, and will you quit yelling! I just-..
You just what?? Youâve been so excited to go see him for this, and now that itâs time you just chicken out??
*Twig nods at Aqua's question, raising her hands.*
Yes, just tired.
*She pauses for a moment, before adding.*
And a bit nauseous.
*Her eyes trail to the boy on the throne, her head tilting in slight confusion. Is that...Ven? He looks...so much like Roxas... Or is it the other way around?*
*She looks at Roxas and Sora, walking closer to the group.*
You really should go, Sora. Who knows when you'll have this chance again, you should take it while you can.
âWould you like a snack? Iâve gotten back into baking, recently.â
Itâs Riku, weâre like always hanging out, so I donât-
Sora! Just go, please?
*Ven knows Sora knows what the big deal is. Ven also knows why exactly he wonât leave.
Iâll be fine, youâll be fine, just go.
*Sora still looks unsure.
âDonald and Goofy have been waiting in the yard for half an hour.â
Wait, theyâre already here?! I-I didnât know that!
*He hesitates, but finally leaves, hopping over the railing to get down faster.
Well. That got him off his ass, heh! I wonder why he didnât wanna leave so badly.
Iâm so bored, can we please do something??
Like what?
I dunno! Anything! Training?
*Twig grimaces, shaking her head. The idea of eating right now... She knows Roxas probably didn't notice but she had almost gagged at breakfast this morning.*
*She watches as Sora leaves, rolling her eyes at the boy. She looks back at Roxas and Ven, listening to their conversation.*
Training sounds fun. I mean, I don't have a Keyblade like y'all do, but my sword works just fine as long as I'm careful, no?
*She's just...trying to feel normal. She hasn't felt normal in days.*
âA sword seemsâŠA little overkill. We have wooden keyblades, if youâd be interested?â
I could run back and grab a wooden sword. Or I could find you a good stick, Yâknow I used one for a while and it worked fine.
No it did not. You didnât die, but you didnât exactly defeat any Heartless with it either.
*Roxas grins at Venâs flat tone.
Bah, the Organization was shitty anyway-
Youâd already been pulling double duty.
-and itâs not like they noticed-
I can almost promise you they did.
-and it went fine! Plus, thereâs no Heartless here to beat up, itâs just training. Itâll be fine.
RoxâŠ
*Rox grins, and Ven sighs, but itâs fond.
*She chews on the inside of her cheek, glancing away.*
It's just a comfort thing. Don't really feel safe with anything that isn't my weapon, regardless of if it's training. 'Sides, I train Kairi while using my sword, not sure what the big deal is...
âHmâŠWell, then how about you spar with me first? Ven can sit-â
Not a kid.
â-spar with Roxas! If thatâs okay?â
*Roxas and Ven both hesitate for a moment, both of them remembering how Roxas thinks of sparring.
If heâs sparring me, Iâm gonna go find a stick. That sound good to you, babe?
âWait, why do you need a stick?-â
I...guess...
*She doesn't really want to spar with Aqua. Ven's blind, she wanted to see if he'd be open to having her teach him how to handle fighting blind. If she had a Keyblade like they all do...would they be more willing to let her spare with Ven? She finds it stupid.*
*As if her mood wasn't already on the edge.*
Sparring with Roxas is intense. Fun, but intense, so a stick is probably the better option if we're going to have them spar.
Aquaâs just overprotective-
âHey!â
-so, try not to take it too hard? Iâm honestly surprised she offered to let Rox spar with me, but thatâs probably because I got annoyed with her for trying to keep Sora and I from sparring.
âCome now, thatâs-â
Race you there!
*And with that, Ven dashes away, Aqua fumbling for a moment before chasing after him.
âHey- Ven, slow down!â
*Ven only laughs, ignoring the request. He knows where all the walls are, thanks!
I've noticed...
*She stands there silently, watching Ven and Aqua run off. She sighs, why does this always happen? She doesn't know this place.*
*She trails behind, taking in the interior of the place.*
Heâs just trying to keep her distracted from babying him. It ended up causing a good bit of issue between them, back before Ven was in Soraâs heart.
*Roxas follows as well, slightly leading the way.
*Thereâs a surprised yelp, and you round a corner just in time to see wind surround Ven, setting himself gently on the ground.
âAre you okay?? You have to be careful!â
Iâm fine, Iâm fine, thanks for the save.
*It seems Ven tripped, and Aqua used magic to catch him. Unfortunately, this seems to only have given her fuel to fuss over him. It seems to annoy the boy.
I can see how it'd be frustrating. I'd hate it myself, but I grew up taking care of myself, so I guess it'd be a little different. I guess take that as your warning.
*She gives Roxas a cheeky smile.*
*She frowns a little at the scene in front of her. Aqua needs to chill out a bit. Ven isn't an incapable person, he just has a new disability he needs to learn how to work around.*
*He laughs at her warning, grinning back.
Yeah? Whatâs that even mean?
*You canât really hear what Ven is saying, but he seems to be telling Aqua something similar to your thoughts.
It means, don't treat me like I'm fragile. I know I haven't been feeling the best lately, and I know you haven't been treating me that way, but I'm saying now to not start. It'd just annoy me.
It's different when I'm...in that state of mind, though. I still don't know what that's about.
*She intertwines her fingers with Roxas's, rocking on her heels.*
Well, the way you act donât change how I feel about you.
*He kisses her cheek, smiling.
*Ven gets to his feet, one hand out to find the wall. Aqua is staring at the ground, akin to a scolded child.
*She smiles with a blush.*
Thank you.
*She looks at the two ahead, sighing.*
Seems like they're done arguing now.
*A rather large, walking, white teddy bear looking creature approaches Ven, who scoops it up and holds it close. Roxas smiles, leading Twig over to the others.
âAh, Cheer. Iâd forgotten you were here..â
âI was out gardening with Rose! He finds it relaxing, and Iâd like to learn. It is a little difficult, considering I donât have fingers..â
*The creatureâs voice is peppy, somewhat of a high pitch but not too high. Ven smiles at its words, finding its nubby hand and gently shaking it.
Well, I think youâre adorable just the way you are. Also, youâve got dirt in your fur.
*It giggles.
âIâm aware, thank you! Maybe Iâll have to get a bath soon.â
*She blinks at the creature that Ven picks up. No, she's not caught off guard by it speaking, but rather by its size. Why is it so small? It's...kind of cute.*
Who's Rose? You guys have a garden? And uh...hello...
*Goddesses she's awkward when she meets newer people.*
Rose is the name my brother is going by. I call him Laur.
âHello! Iâm Chirithy, but call me Cheer!â
*Ven gives a short laugh at the way Cheer introduces themself.
Man, you really do act like me.
*Cheer giggles.
Anyway! Letâs keep going to the training hall!
Ah...um...okay?
*She...doesn't really get what Cheer is supposed to be? She wishes there was an easier way to understand this world that isn't just...having to experience it.*
âIâm whatâs called a Dream Eater. I keep the nightmares away from the Wielder Iâm bonded to! Mine is Ven.â
Do you know what a Dream Eater is, Twig?
*Cheer tells Ven of any changes in the ground, letting him be more careful without babying him.
Oh, uh, yeah, I do. I have one, an Aura Lion named Regal.
*She wonders if that's part of why she keeps having nightmares. She's not like these guys, is Regal even properly bonded to her?*
I usually only see him when I'm visiting Xion, however.
âHm..Well, from what I know of other Dream Eaters, they arenât like me. They canât talk or come to the waking worlds like I do. The Master was the one who made us, and assigned us to Wielders.â
âThe.. Master? Iâm assuming you donât mean Master Eraqus?â
âMm-mm! I mean the Master of Masters, heâs the one who created us and a bunch of other stuff! He disappeared before the Foretellers did, though. I was the last Chirithy he made.â
Oh, you were?
âMhm!â
Wait- hang on, Twig you know Xion?
*Roxasâs excitement in that fact is visible, amplified.
Well, no I know that. I mean that the only time I see him is specifically with Xion. My nightmares are constant, you can ask Roxas.
*She pauses at Roxas getting excited about her meeting Xion. She, however, is not.*
Yes, and that's where I'm leaving it.
âHmâŠIf thatâs the only time you see him, and the nightmares arenât gone or lessened, maybe he needs some help!â
*Roxas pouts.
Aww, what? Why not?? I wanna know what you think about her..!
Rox. If she doesnât want to talk about it, donât make her.
Iâm not!-
Thatâs how itâs coming across, though.
I...hope that's the case.
*Her eye twitches in irritation.*
We aren't on good terms right now and that's all I'll say about it, Roxas.
Oh, c'mon!
She doesn't want to talk about it.
But that's-
Roxas. Drop it.
*Roxas pouts, but finally does so.
"You could try creating another Dream Eater, and see if that helps at all? Sorry, I'm not very well versed in new ones.."
*They finally arrive at the training hall, which is a mess.
"Ven, stop there's stuff all over the floor."
Yeah? Huh. Must've been Laur, I guess.
*Roxas and Aqua start to pick stuff up, though Roxas has less idea where it belongs than Aqua does.
*She doesn't want to make a new one, she likes Regal... She also doesn't know how to make a new one.*
*As Roxas and Aqua clean up, she rocks on her feet.*
How have you been holding up, Ven? I'm sure suddenly being blind has been disorienting.
*He hugs Cheer a little tighter, not saying anything.
âHeâsâŠManaging. The loss of eyesight means Aqua and Lauriam have been hovering more than he likes. Not being able to see also means that other things are all he has to rely on â like his hearing, touch, sense of smell. Sure, he can sense hearts, but..â
âItâs not quite enough, and at the same time overwhelming.â
âNot to mention that he feels lonely without Sora and Roxas, having grown used to them and now theyâre goneâŠ. Well â not gone gone, but it feels like it.â
I get it... It annoys me seeing Aqua treat you like a child. You need support, not to be coddled.
When I first lost eyesight in my left eye, it was hard, and I didn't have anyone around until Roxas showed up months later. I was also still healing from a head and back injury, I technically should've been on bed rest - I had forgotten I could heal. Didn't remember until...I healed Sora I believe.
It takes time to adjust to your other senses being primary. It's part of why I want to spar with you. Roxas won't be able to help you with this and Aqua would be too scared to.
You already have the tools to fight and defend yourself, now you just need to adjust. If I can teach Kairi how to fight from scratch, I'm sure I can help someone who actually knows what they're doing.
And, don't worry about my sword, I won't touch you with it. But it's not like I have a Keyblade and I hate practice weapons - but that's mainly due to how I was raised. I don't think I've held a practice weapon since before I pulled the Master Sword.
Laur does it tooâŠJâs not so bad.. Iâve always been the youngest.
*He doesnât like that fact.
âŠHead and a back injury, huh?
*That thought amuses him.
âWhat? Whatâs so funny about that?â
Just.. Something I happen to remember, that shouldnât really be done if youâre hurt.
âYouâre really not gonna tell me??â
Aw, câmon, howâre you meant to keep being a cute little bear if your mind gets tainted?
âWhatâs that mean?????â
Nothing, nothing~
âLiar.â
Hm.
âŠYou are right though. Thereâs no way Aqua would ever let us spar, even after she spars you.
Might be a weird ask, butâŠAre you willing to like, keep it sheathed or something? I hate her babying me, but I donât wanna scare Aqua. Just something to cover the sharp edges. Donât have to, though.
I don't...really know Laur, I don't even think I've met him.
Something...that shouldn't be done...when hurt... Tainted?
*Twig stares for a moment before her whole face turns red with embarrassment. She covers her face with her hands.*
Oh Goddesses, nooooooo- You were there the whole time? And Roxas didn't say anything? I'm so sorry, Ven, that's... That was probably really uncomfortable for you...
*She rubs her face.*
Um... Keeping it sheathed would make it harder to wield, along with the strap...
*After thinking for a moment, she taps her fist to the palm of her other hand.*
But, I can encompass my sword in light and it'll soften the blade. So if it does accidentally hit you, it'll hurt because of my strength but you won't get cut. It's how I helped Jun deal with Heartless...
*She gets sheepish, scratching at her cheek and glancing away.*
The one time I actually fought again Heartless. Light arrows work, too, but we ain't doing archery.
*Ven canât help but laugh at her embarrassment. The sound makes Aqua pause and look at them. She smiles softly.
Nonono, I wasnât there, but I got the gist of things when Sora came back! Iâd had the thought, but Iâve never done that so I wasnât sure.
Thatâs a good idea! You might have to explain it to Aqua, but that sounds great.
Yeah; if you donât have a Keyblade, most any magic works against them, but Light is super effective.
She sighs, feeling a bit relieved.
I see⊠I still don't fully know how that situation worked. I know Sora was a Heartless and then Roxas⊠You were the biggest surprise. Roxas has a habit of not informing me of important things until it's in my face.
*Like the entire "sharing a body" situation.*
*She rolls her eyes but nods.*
Fine, but only because she'll bitch either way.
She rocks on her feet, humming.
HonestlyâŠI wonder if that's part of Regal's issue⊠I'm notâŠlike you or Sora, I don't have a Keyblade.
And I don't want to keep getting dragged to see Xion just to see him. The only time I don't have nightmares is when I'm with her and...
Yeah, sorry about him. Itâs kinda- Sora really does that too, and I donât think I do, but honestly they probably got it from me.
My heart went to the next safest place â Skyâs. It was honestly quite the trip, heheh.
Regalâs issue..Hey, Cheer, would you?..
âSure! Twig, do you mind if I try to fix the problem with Regal? Or at least take a look at it?â
I meanâŠI guess there is one good thing about being blind.
*You get the feeling heâs going somewhere cheeky with this.
IâŠwouldn't know.
Sky's? Mmm⊠Y'all are soâŠconnected⊠I feel like I'm stepping into something where I don't belong⊠Which isn't unsual, if I'm honest⊠Kind of miss when it was just Roxas and I, at least I didn't know anythingâŠ
Um, I suppose. I'd like to be able to get some sleep.
*Twig raises a brow.*
And that is
Well, firstly weâve all had that point. I was 8, Sora was 14, Sky was the same age he is now. Plus, Sora and Sky are connected like Sora and I are. It feels like a lot, and it is, but youâll get used to it. At least you were thrown into a war or into other worlds immediately after getting a Keyblade.
*Cheer disappears, and in their place, Ven summons⊠A plushie of Cheer?
*Ven grins.
I havenât had to do a single chore!
*Twig frowns.*
Sure, but me getting the Master Sword when I did wasn't a good thing. I've spent my whole life preparing to fight against a Calamity that I found out I was supposed to die in. Tear's life is basically how my future was supposed to be... A hundred years in a coma...
Changing my fate led me, well, here...
*Twig smiles then laughs.*
Must sound nice to you. I prefer having something to do. I didn't have chores growing up because training was my chore. When I started living in that hut, I had to figure how I was going to get food and fix up the place to be better without aid. Don't ask me how I managed to do all I did with a brain injury.
Living with Blade, he hasn't given me chores, but that's because I'm used to taking care of myself. Cooking, cleaning, feeding the animals, tending to my garden, and I still train.
Though, I think Dad's about to start giving Roxas chores since he's living with us, too.
Oh, sometimes I really wish I didnât get a Keyblade, either. Turns out that I ended up possessed, and the Darkness made me kill Laurâs little sister and take her place. My big brotherâs little sister.
He spent three years searching for her. I had no memory of the event, and I havenât asked him yet how he feels about it, but. I mean, heâs moved in here, so thatâs gotta say something, right?
The chores arenât bad, itâs just, thereâs always something to do. Sweep the floors, clean the windows, stuff like that. Itâs such a big place that itâs hard to keep it clean.
*He smiles softly at the last statement.
Youâll either have to teach him how to do it, or heâll do it like Sora or I do.
âKay! Floorâs clean like normal!
Letâs go spar, then?
That's... I don't even know what to say to that.
*She chews on the inside of her lip. She misses her sister.*
It...seems like he's somewhat accepted it, but it must be a difficult topic to bring up if you don't know how he actually feels.
Heh, yeah, a place like this would keep me busy for hours. It'd be great.
*She giggles.*
I have to teach him a lot. I don't mind, I enjoy teaching, I find.
*She nods.*
Still gonna spar with Roxas first?
I think itâs moreso that Iâm not the one he blames. Relating, when he meets Vanitas Iâm afraid heâs going to attack him.
Well, if you ever need something to do, feel free to come visit. Aqua would appreciate the help, and I could keep you company!
*He smiles at her words.
Well, then you ended up with the right guy.
Mm..Nah. Aqua doesnât know this, but if anyone here were to hurt me on accident, itâd be him. Rox doesnât quite⊠Know how to hold back. All training in the Organization was completely brutal.
*He leads the way, using his memory of the room to step inside a circle drawn on the ground.
I suppose that makes sense. Not...that I know who Vanitas really is. Haven't met him.
We'll see. Dad's been worrying over me lately, I don't exactly blame him. He trusts Roxas to take care of me, it's the only reason I'm able to come visit.
*She hums to herself.*
He isn't the only one I ended up with.
Oh don't I know that. I've fought him before. He's a bit chaotic, but predictable. Me abusing my time magic gives me the upper hand to a point. He hates when I use it, and annoyingly calls it "teleporting" when it's not.
Guess I should let Aqua and Roxas know, huh?
*She follows, looking at the circle on the ground. Interesting, she's not used to a limited space like this.*
HeâsâŠ.Vani is-
*He falls quiet, but takes a breath, letting his plush disappear.
Well; Aqua would certainly put Rox to work too, heheh.
âWhat are you guys doing? I said-â
Just let them spar, dude. Twigâs safer than I am. Plus she started teaching Kairi how to fight properly, so itâs not like she knows nothing.
âKairi? Wait, what?â
You know Kairi?
âI- yeah, but-â
Theyâll be fine. If you get in their way then Iâm gonna take Ven to my place.
âThatâs not!-â
Then donât bother them. Twig will be safe. Promise.
âŠ.Thanks, Rox.
Iâm not stupid enough to not know when both of you are getting pissy, heh. Just have fun.
Thanks, love.
*She draws her sword, running her hand gently along the blade. Light coats the blade, softening the edges. She brings it down, hanging it by her side.*
Alright, I don't think I need to tell you what to do. We're going to test your reaction time using your other senses, namely sound. I try not to rely on my ability to sense magic as not everyone has magic - obviously different for you, but relying on sound will aid you better than just relying on...sensing hearts? I'm still new to that...
I will not touch you with my blade if I can help it, but I want you to listen for the sound of my sword being swung. You're welcome to swing at me and it's fine if you hit me, I know my body and what it can take.
Okay. Thatâs not really something I can just- turn off, but thatâs okay. Sound will help regardless.
*He summons a Keyblade, holding it in reverse grip. He takes a breath, closing his eyes.
Iâm ready.
*Listen for the sword slicing through the air. Try to ignore how he already knows where it is, thanks to the light.
*Twig takes a quiet breath, before moving. Her footsteps have always been silent, which is good for this exercise. Ven is lucky he doesn't have to deal with Yiga, otherwise he would have to train specifically to hear quiet footsteps.*
*She slowly raises her sword, not too high, just enough to swing near his center. Once close enough, she swings her sword at him, her eye not leaving him the whole time. She wants to count his reaction time.*
*He blocks it as soon as itâs in his range, but winces.
Sorry. Thatâs not..
*That wasnât what she asked him to do.
Felt the light. Not the sound.
It's fine, that's why we're training.
*She pulls her sword away, stepping back.*
It takes a lot of focus to ignore something natural. I'm also not going at my normal speed, which you would only be able to rely on your ability to sense me to react in time. I think that's why Roxas hate it, but he's pretty good about blocking my attack.
*She takes a few more steps back.*
Alright, you ready?
*She's already moving as she asks.*
Yeah, been fuckinâ stabbed by Xaldin enough to know how to react and stop it.
âStabbed..?.â
In the leg. Or the arm. None of those fuckers ever held back. Even against me and Xion, who they were straight told to hold back against. Bitches.
âAhâŠâ
*Aqua sounds rather concerned for Roxas now.
*Ven takes a deep breath, squeezing his eyes shut. He blocks the hit again.
I donât- think this is gonna work like you want it to unless you stop with the light.
*He trusts Twig, but he canât say he isnât nervous about that thought.
Maybe you could just- swing it around a few times so I can get used to hearing it?
*She blinks as she stops moving.*
You want me to remove the cover? Are you positive? I mean, if I do hit you I can easily heal you...
*The light fades from the sword. She does as Ven asks, swinging the sword around without moving, allowing him to figure out what he's listening for.*
Uh. No?..
*Heâs so visibly unsure of himself right now, tense and concerned and frankly he wants to go run away and cry.
*He doesnât, though, standing there and listening. He can do this. This should be easy for him.
*So why isnât it.
Just take a breath, relax. You know how to fight, just rely on your instincts and knowledge.
*She stops moving, allowing Ven to just listen.*
Itâs- I just-
*He does. He knows how to fight, he does, he beat Vanitas.
*But this â this is so much worse than that. He canât see. He canât see and all heâs wanted to do was sit down and cry, he wants Vanitas back he wants Terra he wants Ephemer and Brain and Skuld he wants his friends back he just wants his life back.
*This isnât fair. None of this is fair. His life has never once been fair to him.
*He wipes away his tears, trying to focus on the fight.
*Twig stops swinging her sword, putting it away. She walks over to Ven, stopping in front of him, speaking low only for Ven to hear.*
Do you want to talk about it? Somewhere private? Because this isn't going to work with you worked up.
*She has a feeling that Roxas wouldn't understand and Aqua would care too much if Ven anything but happy. However, it's clear to Twig that Ven's having issues.*
*Ven nods, taking her hand and leading her away. Aqua moves to follow, but Roxas grabs her arm.
Hey. Let them be. Twigâs good at this shit, sheâs got this.
âBut Ven is-â
He knows his way around this place, theyâll be fine. In the meantime, how about you and I spar?
~~
*Ventus leads Twig down hallway after hallway, walking quickly. His hold on her hand is gentle. Eventually, he shoulders open the door to a room â his room. There shelves are empty, pages torn down off the walls. The only thing of real note is that some of the things have been shoved under the bed, under the table. Keeping it away, but not very visible.
*Ven lets go of Twigâs hand, sitting on his bed and just.. Starting to cry.
*Twig follows silently, trying to take note of things in the halls so she can navigate around herself. Getting to Ven's room, it surprises her to see how barren it was, though it was obvious there was stuff.*
*She looks at Ven when he lets go, her brows pinching when he sits on his bed and begins to cry. She walks over and sits next to him, gently placing a hand on his back, rubbing it.*
When you're ready to talk, I'm here to listen.
Itâs not fair!
*His Cheer plush appears in his arms, he hugs it tightly. Much tighter than heâd ever hug the real Cheer.
I donât ever get to just- just be happy! Iâm a kid in a war, kid in leadership, kid possessed, a teen being trained, a teen being trained better, a teen fighting for his life!
None of my friends- none of-
They donât-
*The words wonât come out. He grabs his pillow and throws it, it hits the other side of the hallway outside his room.
âPlease just kill me,â I ask, like there havenât been so many attempts already!
Sânot fairâŠ
I...get it. I hate that I do, but I get it.
*She says softly.*
It gets tiring to hear that life isn't fair and having to be strong for the sake of everyone else.
I won't tell you to look on the bright side, because it's okay to feel like there is none. It's okay to feel how you feel right now.
You've had a lot taken from you, and even more recently. It's a lot to handle and it doesn't seem like people are allowing you to feel out your emotions.
I killed her. Did you know that? I killed Laur- I killed Roseâs little sister. Took her place. Didnât even have the- the decency to remember it.
*He knows it wasnât his fault, as he leans against Twig gently. Heâs not really her killer.
People donât even tell me that. I do. Iâm the one saying life isnât fair and Iâm the one that says I have to be strong.
He gets it from me. Did you know that too? Iâm the one he got his catchphrase some. âMy friends are my power,â he claims. Well, he got my stupid tendencies, too.
If I do- if I sit down and cry, then I think Aqua will get worse. I can barely handle it now.
*He doesnât want to make his voice be much louder than it is.
And I canât even keep track of my own darkness..
*She's quiet for a moment before speaking.*
I've killed people. I've killed a lot of people, without a care. There's only one death that haunts me where I'm not even the killer, but I blame myself for her death because she'd still be here if it wasn't for me.
*She wraps her arm around him, holding him.*
You don't always have to be... I'm...only just learning it myself, adjusting to my new life with a father that loves me. I don't...lean on him like I probably should, too used to taking care of myself...
But...I want you to know that you can lean on me a little if you want to. I won't force you to, but I am here for you. I have an outside view of everything, and sometimes that's needed.
Aqua is... She's noticeably overbearing. When I first met her, despite disassociating heavily, I noticed it. Granted, I barely remember that timeframe so she has it pretty bad if it stuck out to me like that.
*She hums softly, a bit questionably.*
What do you mean by that?
*He canât help a soft huff of laughter at the statement about Aqua.
Sheâs always been like that.
*He curls up further, pulling his legs up. Heâs doesnât care about his shoes on the bed. He doesnât mention Twig killing people.
Vanitas, itâs.. Heâs kind of the personification of my darkness. He started as something else, something worse, but- I think the time travel screwed with him like it screwed with me.
We gotâŠ.
Something changed, after meeting that- that guy, and he wasnât part of me anymore. He went on a walk, one day, and he justâŠ.. Hasnât come back. Something had to happen, but-
He can take care of himself, I know that, but itâs notâŠ
*That isnât what heâs concerned about.
*There are footsteps outside of the room, but they stop, and the owner shifts to lean against the wall. Theyâre too heavy to be Roxas, too loud to be Aqua.
Well, she needs to figure out how to put that energy into something else. It clearly bothers you.
*She blinks, looking at Ven confused.*
I didn't know there were four of you guys. Y'all never cease to surprise me.
*It hurts to learn how much Evil Fairy screwed with people she knows. It hurts more that she can't tell him, because that means outing herself, too.*
It's not what?
*Her ear twitches at the sound of footsteps, her brows pinching trying to figure out who it is and why they're eavesdropping on them.*
Yeah. Vani was only stuck to me, so he couldnât ever really swap in like Rox and I could..
I⊠Iâm afraid heâs gonna hurt someone else. Or do something stupid, because thatâs who he is.
*He notices the shift in her emotions, but finds he doesnât reallyâŠWant, the other in here.
Itâs just Laur. Probably heard us and wanted to make sure Iâm okay.
âI was, um, heading to my room. Need a change of clothes, so.â
*Ven hums in response. He doesnât invite the man in. Rose makes no move to enter.
He sounds important to you. At least important enough to worry about his whereabouts.
*She nods simply at his explanation.*
That's fair, still don't like people eavesdropping, though.
*Ven gives a hum, but doesnât know what to say. Rose starts to hum a song â a calm, lullaby-esc melody. Ven doesnât seem happy with it, if anything he looks more upset with himself.
If...I had the chance to meet him before he disappeared, finding him wouldn't be so hard. I wish I could do more to help.
*She's silent for a moment before huffing in annoyance, hopping off the bed.*
Hold on...
*She walks over to the door, crossing her arms.*
Could you please leave? I highly dislike people eavesdropping on me. You can check on him later, ya know?
âIâm sorry, I justâŠ. I hate the idea of leaving him when heâs crying, even if youâre here.â
*The tall man is covered in dirt, his pink hair pulled back into a ponytail. His eyes, a nice blue with spots of greeny-yellow, are full of concern.
âHeâs my little brother. I canât.â
*Ven sits in his room, on his bed, alone in a room that doesnât feel like his anymore.
*Twig sighs.*
I get it, I'm an older sister myself. But it doesn't seem like he wants to talk to you and as I said, I feel uneasy with you here.
He'll be okay, I promise.
@heroineofthewild
*A pink blob of magic floats over to you, humming to himself. Green. The magic is like Uranium but not rotten.*
Oh! Hi! Hi! Wi-ild?
*He's... not quite correct about who you are but he recognizes your magic a little. But... Not Wild...*
No... No Wi-ild... hi!
- @luherooflegend
*Twig is in her garden, trying to distract herself from her cycling thoughts of overthinking when she senses your magic. She tenses up, only for a moment, until she looks up at you, seeing a familiar pink cloudy. She stands, greeting you with a strained smile.*
Green, Goddesses you... You scared me a little.
*She laughs awkwardly, scratching the back of her head.*
No, not Wild. Similar, though. I'm Twig.
... You s-ee fake?
*He sounds... very upset about the fake. You're not the first to react to him poorly because of the deceiver... have you been hurt too? He hopes not.*
Tw-ig... Twig? Hi. See Twig be-fo-e?
*Mortal sounds really aren't his strong suit.*
*Ah, right, you struggle with language, though you sound better than the last time she saw you.*
You mean Uranium? If so, yes... Um, he...found me, but it was only once. I couldn't tell you much else...
*And she'd rather not speak more about him, regardless of it was verbally or telepathically.*
Yes, when I first moved to the Plateau. I was healing from my injuries at that time. We spoke a bit about our disdain for the Goddesses and our relations to Hylia.
*The telepathy seems to help, his mortal languages still aren't perfect but it's easier to translate mentally for him.*
That sucks. I do mean him... I really hate him.
*He doesn't ask you anything else, he can see the marks of Uranium's magic and instead allows the change in topic easily.*
Huh. Hylia can eat a -
*The word that he says is a very nasty gerudo word he picked up from Audrah but it's not exactly easy to translate.*
I'm glad to see you again... Safe and all. You deserve that!
*Twig snorts at your statement, smiling softly.*
I'm safer now. A lot has happened since we met, and I've regain a bunch of my memories that I had lost. I got adopted and have a much better father in my life.
*She pauses, sighing softly as she hugs herself, glancing away.*
Unfortunately, even with all the good, stressful things can't seem to stop happening. Saw an old friend the other day and he's mad at me still, probably even worse now. I also found out some news the same day, and I'm still...reeling from it. Even with reassurances, I'm still scared about it.
*He snickers and it sounds like windchimes.*
That's a relief. I'm glad the memories amd father stuff are better.
*He's friendlier, as a cloud than he was as a hylian.*
Puck, right? He's... upset. But he usually comes around... but even if he doesn't you should do what's best for you.
... I'm sorry things are stressful. If you want to talk I'll listen? But I also don't want to force you?
*Her eyes widen as she looks at you.*
How... How did you know? I haven't told anyone I'm-
*She pauses, biting her lip.*
That I was close to fae. I'm...already aware he probably won't come around, I mean...I did exactly what I threatened to do and put him in a bottle! Granted, I was in hysterics when I made that threat because it was after my run in with Uranium...
*She sighs, shaking her head.*
But I haven't told anyone because of the...thread magic. I'm aware of the harm Puck has done, even to someone I love. I mean, he's used it on me and taught me. I can't risk losing more people because of...
Because I chose to be his friend...
*She hugs herself tighter, though her arms move down to wrap around her stomach.*
I...recently found out that I'm with child. I'm sure something unexpected like this would scare anyone...but I'm only 16...I'm too young to be a mother... I wish I could stop thinking about it for one moment...
*He just makes a soft sound.*
Puck is mine. My brother. It's... not hard to put the pieces together from whe we spoke.
*He makes a chittering sound but notably doesn't lash out.*
Yeah... I ... understand... but maybe don't put him in a bottle again? I get that he's not always doing the right thing... but... he hates them.
*Green just nods.*
Yeah... I'm sorry... he hurt you. And the person you love.
... thread magic is... well it's... I think... I think it's what you do going forward that matters most right now... Bird Boy says that anyway.
*He makes a soft sound. Pregnant? That sounds... painful? Terrifying?*
That... sounds like a lot. I... don't really have anything helpful... but I'm sorry. And... never let anyone decide how you feel but you. This is probably terrifying...
... Can I help? Do... you... want... anything? A distraction? Cloud hugs? ... Do you want to talk to someone who raised kids? I haven't but I know someone?
*Twig simply nods.*
I...only put him in a bottle to protect him and stop him from bothering my little brother who was unwell and lashing out due to Puck trying to bother him. But it doesn't change that I still did it...I don't even know if he listened to my apology for sending him away...
I miss him, even if I technically shouldn't.
I never wanted to use it on people, and I think Puck having me gave him an outlet where he was unlikely to hurt others. I was fine with what he did, I understood what he was doing, especially since I can see threads without touching a person.
*She blinks at you.*
Bird boy...? Are you...talking about Sky or Birdie? I'm more familiar with Birdie, I only met Sky because he helped save my dad.
*She sighs, shrugging.*
A distraction would be nice. My dad used to foster children, so I have support, and I have a little sister, so I'm not unaware of what goes into it... I'm just...not prepared for this sort of thing and that's what I keep thinking about.
*A pink blob of magic floats over to you, humming to himself. Green. The magic is like Uranium but not rotten.*

But...
