Dinner and a Show >> Henri and Zelda
The engine purred to life. It was a satisfying noise and one that buzzed through every inch of her body. She put it in gear and started down the road before she heard Henri speak. It was true, she wanted to know about this enigma beside her, but she wasn’t one to just flat out ask twenty questions. But it couldn’t really hurt to ask one or two vague ones. “How does this fortune telling work?” she began, glancing at him for a second before she looked back at the road. “Is it magic? Or are you just very observant?”
Henri smiled lightly as he stared out the windshield at the road in front of them. He thought carefully about his answer when he heard her question. His smile spread wider when he replied, “A master of magic never reveals their secrets.” He put a finger up to his lips and winked at her. “But do you believe in magic or think it’s all a hoax?” He asked knowing that it was real.
A recent dream flooded back to him with images of shadows and dark magic. He wondered where they had come from. He turned his face to the window as he thought about the magic he saw. He had thought they were flashes of the future at first but realized the visions felt like deja vu. He couldn’t put his finger on where these dreams had come from.
