Just like writing a thesis (essay), there are some conventional rules that will help you structure the presentation.
The introduction of your board is the selling of it, the statement of what is going to be talk about, and how they support the big idea; Architecture (space). In the visual literature, the gesture of such, becomes that introduction.
Western hemisphere reads from left to right, top to bottom. (left top corners becomes the accepted starting point)
Gesture is accomplish by using the main parti of the primary models, those being the final construct. And align them in such a sense that they create a never ending flow.
The hierarchy project should not be the start nor end, but should be the center of it.
If you manage to catch your reader in the introduction, they will come back to read the body; the process.
The body is the re enforcement of your argument and the explanation of such. Keeping good grammar (craft & communication techniques) is crucial. The consistence of terminology (medium and method) keeps the reader aware of what you are writing about. Also mini conclusion of each argument are to be expected to tight in to the whole.
Stay within grids.
Rule of thirds.
Organize process near the final construct.
Organize process chronologically or transitionally.
The Conclusion is an illusion. Your goal is to keep the reader. Therefore the conclusion will just lead you back to the introduction. Though again that gesture. Every time the reader re examinate the board, they will understand more and more your intention.
In the end, hope that what you are writing about it what your reader wanted to hear.
——-
1. big models (model gesture) 2. big drawings/medium models (reinforce model gesture) 3. fill gaps with photos/small models/small drawings (black gesture) —- *eye level best work or perspective *don’t place same type of drawing near each other. (max 2) (ex: all section in the same place) *black vs white create a good contrast. —— criteria: Gesture (composition) Quality (craft) Space (argument)

Kate Lorenc, Bachelor of Physiotherapy - Manchester Metropolitan University Everytime I watch this video it makes me smile. Going on exchange was the best decision I have ever made. It was the best year of my life! I have tasted freedom, experienced so many different cultures and made friends for life all over the world. I’ve come home with the dreaded travel bug, but this has made me even more excited to see the world and gain further life experiences living overseas. I hope this video inspires everyone to take the plunge and study abroad! Don’t delay putting in that application. If you’ve got the drive to immerse yourself in another culture and see Europe, America, Africa or anywhere in the world - start planning for the trip of a lifetime! I may have no money left in the bank, but I have a head full of memories - and that in itself is priceless.
My best friends little sister studied abroad and made this little clip.... sometimes you just have to take the plunge and experience things first hand, it's always going to be different to the glossy picture in the coffee table book..
Visualisation 2..
a somewhat abstract way to represent what a space might be like... that is not 'photo real'...
BIG (Denmark) are crazy brilliant at this style of representation...link below goes to their website...
SLA (Denmark) are also just as good...
Google your hearts out LA's!!
