I had a dream I went to this bright spare, cavernous apple store adjacent place in the building of an old bank and was trying to buy a used iPad from a nerdy glasses-wearing dark haired clerk who was socially awkward but kind and helpful. I felt myself loosening up and flirting with him he led me back to this testing area and put me in this long room like a prison kitchen or railroad apartment and let me test the products (iPad, apple pencil and an experimental app version of KidPIX which I had loved as a child. Especially the “oh no!” Eraser tool sound effect) while he went back to his “area”, down a long industrial hallway, a brightly lit beautifully appointed modern interior with bright pale wood floors and plants and luminous bay windows despite being in the bowels of the building with modernist sconces and bauhaus chairs and a draftsman’s desk and a big computer. The whole area was cordoned off in glass like an art exhibit or a cage and had a small platform leading up a ramp made of the same pale warm wood. He turned away from his computer when he heard me coming and said “the moment you come up that ramp you’re not in the store anymore, you’re in my place” he didn’t say house he said place. I dont remember what I said to him but he came down the ramp to help me with some other tech thing in this sumptuous 80s style lobby with plant displays and a reflecting pool and red seating area and he told me the app was charging me with every additional use and that the company was not libel and i couldnt do anything. I said another thing to him but forgot what it was, but suddenly he said “I knew you weren’t here for any of that I knew you were here for me!” And I leaned forward and kissed him, hoping it would be good, but it tasted like his mouth was full of vomit in an acrid and visceral and thick way. And I didn’t know what to do I didn’t want to spit and offend him but he was so carried away in reciprocated affection that he flopped onto his back. I had to walk back to the railroad kitchen room to take the iPad my mouth tasted sour and awful, like bile, but a man was standing in the doorway vigorously moving his arm like he was masturbating but he was just playing the fiddle really loud.
I woke up kinda distressed.
