in the spirit of Oct 17th (it’s Oct 17th in most places rn I think (possibly in Michigan at least))

I enjoy Ted ships, but not in the way that I think it would be a good ship for either parties (more so the party that has to put up with Ted but I digress), but in the way that I want to study how they interact with each other in any given moment. I want to watch them dance around each other in various silly ways. I want to put them in a hamster cage together and watch them scamper around in the enclosed space.

a music choice i'm insane about is through the dark by alexi murdoch in 5×08 emancipation. it plays during a montage that shows kutner taking the patient's parents to see her (alongside foreman and his child patient and the patient's brother and mother). and it's just.

he thought she was like him -- had lost her parents like he did. he believed her, or at least wanted to.

but her parents weren't dead, and at the end, they came to see her. she has her parents (unlike kutner), and the lyrics of the song really match this scene: she has someone to reach for her through the dark, to wipe her tears, to hold her.

Kutner doesn't.
